had to make a lot of changes to armour to make combat work better, armour should protect, not just hinder
loved rolemaster, not sure which edition i have. hated the combat system as armour was a real problem. have made changes which i am happy with. now, armour gives defence bonus and damage reduction.

Thanks for the video. I am having trouble using the character sheet. Specifically when I open the Excel spreadsheet, it says "Common Man" or "Cleric" but when I try to click to change it, although it brings me to the list of Races or Professions, I can't seem to change the Race or Profession. I click on it and I even adjusted the quality of the Excel sheet to allow editing. But when I try to change it or write it in or whatever, it does not adjust anything, it just says what I typed in but the bonuses and skill costs and everything else does not change. Please assist. Thanks.

After years of absence I am currently reading into RMFRP (I guess it is called) which received a German version in 2007 (simply named "Rolemaster"). I am also looking into HARP which strikes me as a very nice game as well.
@@olafbuddenberg4787 It can be confusing, but RM FRP is the successor to RMSS and RM Classic is the successor to RM2 (the version I made the video about). I did not like RMSS as I explained in the video, so my recommendation is to try RM Classic but then again, it may not be in German. Where in Germany are you? I travel there every year.
@@PeterSotosEPT - Ah, I see. I knew that RM Classic was the successor to RM2. But I didn't know that RM FRP was built upon RMSS. Thanks. I live in Wolfsburg, home of Volkswagen. RM FRP is the only German Version still in print. but the language issue doesn't bother me. Will look into RM Classic though...
If you're so inclined, I'd like to hear more about what it is that draws you to RM2 over RMFRP. You mentioned a different power curve. And where in Germany do you travel to?

You cant use weapons/shield or armor with adrenal defence. Martial artist can only use weapon with AD if its their kata weapon by option rule.
I knew about the shield and armor but never heard that you can't use weapons with Adrenal Defense. I will have to double check that. :o
You can use a weapon. It's only a martial artist who is limited. Here is the rule from Companion 2: ADRENAL DEFENSE (NONE)(Special/DB)-By using this skill, attacks with melee or missile weapons may be dodged or deflected (wholly or partially). The skill rank bonus of the Defen- der is added to his defense bonus versus melee attacks. Against missile attacks the skill rank is halved before the bonus is calcu- lated and added to the Defensive Bonus. To use adrenal defense, you must be aware of the fact that you are under attack. In addition, the character must not be wearing any armor and cannot have a shield or large object in his hands. (If Optional Rules 13.31 is being used, a martial artist can hold any weapon usable as their weapon kata).
Ah you may be right, it does say "Large Object". That may make Adrenal Defense very worthless. I may do away with that rule and continue to use it as we have been.
If you are kind and generous GM you can allow a use of rapier/dagger/ short sword. :) but AD is made basicly for martial artists. There is a skill in one of the companions it was 4 i think called weapon bugei or something to use with weapons.
