Bobcat e45 Excavator bucket cylinder repair
Step by step how to re seal a leaking bobcat e-45 excavator cylinder. This machine has 2000 hours and is a 2017. this is the third cylinder I have had to re seal. I believe purple power degreaser is to blame. Its been used many times to clean grease off the machine. All the seals were super hard which I believe is a chemical attack of the plastic. This job shown took me under 90 min to complete while filming. having the right tools is a must for this job!

How did it hold up? Got a part list?
Hi my names is Benny. How did you get the speedo to work? I can't find any service info anywhere.
is that a 7" slew bearing?
How's it compare to the homemade one!? LOL
Thats fantastic, way to go!
I think the pole was planting your puller.
That's excellent!! Thanks so much for making this video. This is most likely exactly what I will do!
Hey man I love your videos - when you mark them as “For Kids” though, CZcams doesn’t allow them to be saved to playlists though - I’d love to be able to save your other videos for my own future reference. Thanks for posting.
Good rig. Maybe could drill holes.
Thanks for making the video. Ive been studying this all week and found nothing but negative, discouraging info.
I saw a video where you did that, is that correct??
Hey Lucas, I have an Eaton fuller ultrashift and I want to converter in Manual, can you help me with that??
Sr did you change the front housing of the transmission or did you only bought the harness and the top cover with the shifter
Came out nice. Ive got that same eager beaver tag
I thought i recognized your voice. Race Car driver and machine builder.. im impressed. Worm gear rotator? Has it been reliable so far?
Yup. It’s a slew gearbox. Worm gear with some Bearings. I’ve been using it problem free for a few hundred hours.
How does it drive and last?
It’s been really good. I need to do a follow up video.
love older equipment
I can’t wait to do this I have RTO-16910C-AS3 2007 Volvo vn
Nice looking excavator.
Thanks 👍 wait till you see it now. I just am finishing up installing Oilquick and a new tilt rotator
@@lucasmurphare you alive
Nice work... you run that like a third hand, oh how I would love to have an excavator.
Thanks 👍
We're doing one right now but it had the ultrashift so completely different transmission.
I named it wrong, this one was an ultrashift.
Make a video for us to see if it is possible to do that with the Ulta shift 2 transmission
I been using rotortilt for 25 years now I drive a we160e volvo with a encon rotortilt but I started without rotortilt back in the days but with rotortilt you haw to learn how to digg and use it in a whole different way then a attach bucket..buy hope this will halp you on you upcoming jobs it makes you machine in to a Swiss army knife 😉but need time to learn to use it
Tilt rotators are just catching on in my area. I just bought a Deere 160g with an engcon. It’s a game changer for sure.
@@lucasmurph for sure It means you don't haw to move around as much as before.
How much total cost?
It was around $1800 if I remember correctly.
Nice work Lucas 👏
Do you have a link to the orange piece and the black hydraulic piece going into it? I have a cnc machine and want to try my hand at making a tilt rotator also. Thanks!
I got it on eBay. It’s called a slew gear box. This one is 9” I also ordered one from cone drives. I think a 7” is more appropriate size for my machine which is an e45 bobcat.
Pretty sure that your machine is made in Japan manufactured by Mitsubishi….cat did not make a small dozer at that time I own a 96 D3 C with the 6 cyl Mitsubishi engine
Thank you making this video
What and we’re did you get the slew bearing?
eBay.
Does this work on a ultrashift with no clutch?
I have no idea. After figuring out the clutch pedal I would assume it’s more or less the same
Gr8 vid as I'm calling mnm early Monday....I've heard all the discouraging advice and complications
Nope the ultrashift is a completely different transmission then the auto shift
After you removed the x y z valve did you have to drill holes for the new selector valve? I converted a 2000 Volvo 6 years ago an thoes holes I had to drill were horrible since I didn't remove tranny. Just curious. Good video
I don’t really know what the xyz valve is. I kept the solenoid valve on the back it the transmission which makes the range selection and powered them
Sorry meant to say xy valve which is your shifter
You’d like to get a 11k hrs haha. Only ran in. We have the hitachi Ex 120 dash lc version from nearly new. Same as what you have there. Ours came with telescopic dipper and we made a even loner and wider undercarriage for it. It’s has over 33k hrs on it.
How has the Jenkins soil conditioner held up? I'm looking at getting one. How do you set your height? Do you use lift or tilt on your machine?
It’s really tough. It will push basket ball sized rocks all day long. I’d buy another one for sure Both lift and tilt get used it’s kind to tough to explain. I
Where can I find one of the rotating hydraulic motors? Or... Do you sell this set up?
I got the gearbox on eBay and a hydraulic motor from surplus center. I had to machine the motor to fit the gearbox.
Search slew gearbox. The one i have is 9”. It’s a little big for this size machine compared to what engcon sells.
How’s it working out for you?
@@lucasmurph Hey any chance you could share the links for these parts? Looking to make one myself. Thanks!
what model slew drive are you using? Will any of the ones used for a grapple work?
It’s a hfang pe9. The grapple one may work? The log grapple ones I’d imagine are not the right type. It needs to be worm gear type
Wow, that's pretty impressive
Hey, looks like you’ve got it working pretty well. I got Here through following minimachines. Where did you source the slew box? I’m working on plans to build one for a cat 307. Can’t afford the quote I got from Engcon!!! Was more that the machine is worth haha.
I found it on eBay. It’s an hfang pe9. It’s a little oversized for my machine but it works
Looks awesome, great Job
wow that is a lot of travel
Looks awesome. When are you going to start building it? Feb, it coming fast.
