For 20 years, I excelled as a Master Technician for Ferrari and BMW, earning the title of "Best Ferrari Technician in the World" in 2019. I will bring the same passion to the channel. Dive into my meticulous, in-depth projects, from complete restorations of classics like the BMW E28 M5, my son's '72 Chevelle Malibu, and our '79 Centurion jet boat. You'll see performance engine building, fabrication, rust repair, complex diagnostics, even bodywork and painting. I also plan to delve into the unique service needs of my favorite Ferrari’s, sharing interesting technical details along the way.
Join me, Roman, and Charles, the resident shop dogs, as I document and share my expertise, enthusiasm, and OCD on every project I undertake.

CUSTOM Exhaust, Mounts, Plumbing, and Rigging on my JET BOAT
I am reveling in this phase of the restoration and rebuild of my '79 Centurion more than any other. With the big block Chevy now powering this jet boat, I’ve plunged into the task of rigging it up. This is where I truly get to unleash my creative freedom-or perhaps it’s my OCD, or even my anal retentiveness? Who can say? The problem-solving aspect of these fitment challenges is something I genuinely enjoy. I’m a function-first kind of guy, but that doesn’t mean I’ll sacrifice appearance. I’m always willing to go the extra mile (and then some) to ensure everything is both functional and top-notch. That should be no secret by now... lol.
In the last installment of this rebuild, we encountered two significant fitment issues. I was unable-or rather, unwilling-to cut the rear engine plate as needed to allow room for the LH exhaust log and snail to be installed. Additionally, there wasn’t enough space to mount the alternator. After some thought, I came up with some decent, budget-minded solutions that turned out killer! If you’ve been following the build, you know I seem to favor the long and hard route when tackling these problems, and the work in this video is no exception.
Building these custom parts is a real challenge with my limited tools, but I don’t let that hold back my ambitions. I’m always pushing myself to improve and find new ways to get things done, and that drive was in full force in this video. I was thrilled with how my custom parts turned out-they were cheap, simple to make, and maintained top-notch aesthetics.
I hope you guys enjoy the video. I genuinely appreciate all of the support! Be sure to like the video, and drop a comment below (gotta tell that algorithm what's up!)

BARN find CHEVELLE Rochester 2jet Carburetor Rebuild
zhlédnutí 508Před dnem
The revival of our barn find 1972 Chevelle continues. Abandoned and exposed to the elements since 1999, this Chevelle is now running and driving once again. Now that we have successfully revived the car, our next task is to rebuild the sub-systems to ensure long-term reliability. While barn finds are cool, we don't want this car to remain in that condition forever. The goal is to make this Chev...
Replacing a SMASHED rocker panel on the E28 M5

Uncovering hidden, poorly repaired damage is a common part of restoring an old car, and this M5 is no exception. Even though this E28 had nearly 200,000 miles on it, it was still in very good condition. However, I noticed that the fender seam for the right-hand (RH) rocker panel was missing along the lower edge. After some quick investigation, I discovered that the rocker panel had suffered an ...

My first car was a 68 Chevelle with a small block 327 with the 2 speed power glide trans, Holley 4 barrel carb. It wasn’t as fast as the big block 396 but it was plenty fast enough for my first car. I owned 2 70 Chevelles with the 350 and they were not as fast as the 327 was.
it is Summer, get that boat in a water!!!! This speed you will still be "building' this damn boat next Winter????? OMG......

How hard is it to take off drive shaft cover to grease the zerks on u joints?
Not bad at all. Just two bolts to remove the water lines from the cover, and two more small bolts to get the cover off, and then the drive shaft is right there... ~ Nick
Do you have a video on how you wired the fuel tanks.. (electric or manual selector)
I don't. I draw fuel from both tanks at the same time.
All of the little details like maintenance down the road and planning especially on the lake play a huge role when building these boats helps and is key!! Great job, its looking great!!
Thank you! ~ Nick
Awesome vids been following the build, a small tad bit bit of advice is put a pressure gauge on the front of of the intake to verify water pressure once you get it out into the water, a good pump will put more pressure than the relief valve can handle . I ended up with a gate valve in place of the pressure relief to regulate the amount of water pressure in the motor, however a 10$ gauge is good fail safe. IMO
I hear you! A pressure gauge for the engine water is in the plans already! ~ Nick
Excellent work as usual!. No idea how you could have done it better? Different maybe??? When I feel a strange disturbance in the force Ill know your on the water!!!!
😂😂😂
Looking good. I'd rather see you fill those logs from the bottom to the top.. in other words inlet water coming from the pump should go to the lowest entrance on the log to eliminate any air pockets. Keep up the awesome work
I want to run my alternator right where you have yours, but i dont have the plate mount that you're using. Do they make a mount without the alternator mounting to the engine mount?
Call up some one like the company CP PERFORMANCE, they'll get ya set up- or ya may have to use some ingenuity and build a nice looking piece for these older boats. I do alot of similar that this guy is doing because of the lack of parts, age, and multiple combination setups.....jet vs i/o vs v- drive👍👍👍
Run a google search for "BBC LH low alt mount" or something along those lines and you will find plenty of options for mounting brackets. ~ Nick

Nick- whats your system for dual tanks , switching between the 2 tanks and a gauge etc?
No switching system. I pull from both tanks at all times. I have a toggle switch that allows me to switch the guage reading between the right and left tanks. But I rarely switch it, since it puls the fuel from the tanks evenly. ~ Nick

I’ve got the same carb on my 63, thanks for the video!
It was tempting to set aside the old 2-barrel carb and slap on a 4150 double pumper, especially since I have all the necessary parts lying around the shop. However, my main goal is to teach Trevor that it's often easier and more rewarding to fix things rather than replace them. I want him to understand what it takes to make an abandoned or neglected car run well again and to see that it isn't as difficult as it seems. So, the 2-barrel stays on for now! ~ Nick
Why is the top deck painted
It is coated in a product called Glyptal. It is an older hot-rodding trick. The theory is that it helps the oil return to the oil pan quicker. www.glyptal.com/glyptal_coatings.html ~ Nick

It’s cool and often surprising to find what is still available new from BMW for these cars. Great job making the new rocker fit for what you needed!
I am usually very pleased with the amount of NOS parts that BMW still carries. In this case, I just wish that I got the whole rocker, not the center 80% of one.. lol ~ Nick
@@AutoTechNick Indeed, I’ve been quite pleased. If only I could find the elusive Euro tail panel! 😄
I disagree about reverse being almost non existent on jet boats, I can dunk the bow on mine going from forward to reverse!
Hey Nick, what are you going to use to seal up the rail kit holes?
I haven't fully decided yet. The easy route would be to silicone on either side of the rails and in the bolt hole. Or I could mix up some resin and dilute it with acetone to thin it out and try to work it in the holes. Thinning it out will help it soak into the wood better, and hopefully make it a bit easier to apply. Although I drilled the holes on the small side, that may create some additional headaches in the final assembly. ~ Nick
Ilove solid lifters

I quit spotwelding my pinch welds from the outside years ago lotta extra work cleaning everything up. I do it underneath the car inside out.
That is a really good idea. I have never thought of doing it that way, but I can see how much better it will look. Thanks for sharing the tip! ~ Nick
