    Can you put other things inside the epoxy... Like fake butterflies? I want to make something similar for my partner but worried they would melt from the epoxy

      Yes, you can cast things in the epoxy. You just have to be very careful when you put them in and continuously check for bubbles.

      I believe I showed the packets for the pigments I mixed. It’s hard for me to remember! Olive Drab, a soft gray, and forest green I believe?

    How much trial and error did it take you to get to this point? The artistry of cutting the wood to the pigment in the epoxy. Also, where did you get your iron stamp/brand?

    Why do you do ypur branding before sanding? Seems like you should wait till that's all complete.

      I brand after 180 and before 220. The reason I do that is because the brand leaves a yellowish burn around the wood and I think it looks bad. If I hit it with 220 after branding, it looks perfect.

    What was the formula for figuring how much resin you need and how do you use it?

      L x W x H = cubic inches. Convert cubic inches to ounces

      You took several measurements of the length..how does that work?

      @@waterlilly62lori I was probably taking an average of the widths because live edge wood is never straight. I may have gotten 4.5” at one part, 2.25” at another, and 6” at another. I average those together and then take that as my width.

    How do you handle micro-bubbles in your epoxy?

      I use the torch or heat gun to get them out.

    What shade of blue epoxy is used? I went to your website and saw that you used it with the beautiful charcuterie boards as well.

      we actually use a combination of a bunch of different blue pigments to put into the epoxy. We use Baltic Day pigments! You can try them out and get 10% off using code MAC10

    Can you seal with table top epoxy since it cures faster as long as i make sure it’s still tacky before I deep pour??

      Forgot to ask as well. About how long do you let the table top seal cure to get tacky so you can than deep pour!? Sorry for so many questions

    When your cutting the ends of the board after the resin has set, why do you choose a miter saw over a table saw?

      I used a miter saw then because that’s what I had. I use a table saw now

    I see some people seal the live edge with epoxy to guard against air bubbles. Do you find not doing this an issue?

      I have not had an issue with it. On bigger projects (tables or desks) I usually seal the edges just to be safe.

      I use SuperClear’s table top epoxy. Let it sit 24 hours and then you can proceed.

      Yeah, that’s one method. I usually just sand them off because it’s not that difficult with the right equipment!

      I made this mold from plywood and tape that doesn’t adhere to epoxy. I use silicone all around it to stop the epoxy from leaking out.

    Beautiful table! What grit did you sand to before applying the tabletop epoxy? Was there any polishing or just sanding? Thanks! Working on some charcuterie boards that are very similar, but not looking forward to the polishing.
