    Paris Commune was not a false start. It lasted physically 40 days. Morally, it endures to this day. That's not a false start. . . . and so The Arab Spring and Tlatelolco '68 are real starts, moral imperatives that inform and sustain. Professor Marshak will disagree and call these starts just visions. True, but how are such visions false?

      I'm not sure The Arab Spring belongs in your list of starts and Tlatelolco '68 was a start that was premature. When the people were in their position of power, they didn't know what to ask for or do. The kind of class consciousness we learn from Gramsci is a necessary precursor.
