Audio issues aside, this is a fascinating talk by Mr. Carmack. Really exciting stuff!
Someone needs to remove the left channel and remix this from the right channel. Maybe fix the levels at the applause too...
This audio would make John Carmack cry. No sync, no left channel, and low fidelity.
To play this properly with mplayer, download the video and do this: mplayer2 Carmack.mp4 -af channels=2:2:1:0:1:1 This will play the right channel on both channels
audio is broken.

You should apply camera stabilization filter (you can try CZcams standard stabilization) and fix left channel.

You invite and make John Carmack talk and you couldn't setup a decent sound recording? What a shame. Anyway I'll still try to watch this...
If you go into your audio options, go to enhancements, and check voice cancellation it will correct the audio balance. This is analog audio which isn't using the high band, voice cancellation disables that and shifts the audio back to the center, removing the popping and buzzing from the left speaker.

Click your speaker icon, then click the big speaker icon above the volume control, and in the speaker properties window click the tab that says enhancements, and check the option Voice Cancellation. It will fix it.
Twice As Naked Not on a windows machine so that is not going to help. Also, just checked on a windows box and it seems like that enhancement is not available on all versions (windows 8). The audio should have been fixed before upload. Just making it mono would have helped, filtering to remove the low hum (which does seem to be mainly on the left channel) would be good also... Thanks though.
Windows 7 same thing. No "big" speaker option as well. And agreed. Why upload a video then tell people how to fix it.
Check under your speaker properties on whatever OS you are using. You can also achieve this through your equalizer, but any kind of peak limit filter will do it.

CZcams should have a mono mode.
Might wanna put a volume warning on that the voice is REALLY quiet but the clapping just blew out my right earphone in my headset and really hurt my ear. Also audio only works in right side. John is an absolute genius though!
