This Lakes Great Bass Fishing Is Back!
For the longest time Lake Austin has been considered one of the toughest lakes to fish in central Texas. Outside of the chance of catching a giant there really wasn't much going on. I made a video in 2023 talking about how the lakes great bass fishing might be returning. Well, I'm happy to say in 2024, the lakes great bass fishing has officially returned!

Nice bass bro, I was wondering if you had any suggestions for fishing for carp from the shore in lake Austin in going to try to catch some carp this weekend just trying to find a good spot to post up gonna try night fishing
I’m not as familiar with carp fishing from the shore but I feel like I see a lot of people doing it from the shores of Emma Long Metropolitan Park. That’s probably where I’d try first, there’s a TON of carp in lake Austin so you’ll have a good chance at catching some.

It’s ladybird, trolling motors are allowed they just don’t allow the use of outboards

Tried this 1st on mine and last 1 trip 😹 Then patched by melting in more material I’d cut from one of my other kayaks Stronger than new and sanded back into shape Flex seal did get me on the water for the day though

If you’re looking for big fish in Austin try lake Austin, they can be tricky but the lake has giants in it. Caught one just shy of 10 out there a week ago.

i dock fish the Texas row center dock at lady bird and i dont know what bait to use do you have any suggestions
I would recommend either a fluke or weightless senko and just slowly work them through the grass around the dock.

I don’t know how you make it look so easy bro I’ve tried using jigs frogs etc etc everything that is fake and I can’t get anything with idk what I’m doing wrong I only catch some stuffs with live worms, any tips ?
My biggest tip would be to look up how to properly work each lure and make sure you’re presenting everything correctly. As well as just knowing what to fish where, a lot of bass fishing comes down to having an understanding of what bass in a certain area are going to be feeding on. Like for example what lures you should throw in grass compared to rocks or shallow water compared to deep. Water temp and time of year can have a big effect as well, like generally when it’s cold you want to fish smaller and more finesse then as the water warms up you can expand your arsenal some. Then just getting out and using lures enough, sometimes it can take a while to get confidant with a certain lure. Hopefully that helps!

You can get away with eating some fish out of lake Austin but for the best quality fish you’ll want to go to lake Travis.
