Pokémon Pinball Gameplay - Metal Ramps and Updated Design
zhlédnutí 2,9KPřed 5 měsíci
We have been working a lot on Pokémon recently, the layout in this video *should* be the final design minus little tweaks (ball stucks etc.). The changes from the last version are the "gym shot" left of the center ramp and the right ramp now returns to your lower right flipper. Obviously some new cosmetic changes as well, metal ramps, pokédex secondary screen, and pokéball have all been added a...
Homebrew whitewood version 9000

We took Pokémon Pinball back to whitewood after 2022 Chicago Expo. This is a glimpse of a layout that we've been experimenting on with feedback from expo and new design ideas. We are mostly happy with the flow and are beginning to work out all the kinks. We believe we are narrowing down on a final layout so we can move on to lights, cosmetics, and code.

    Plan on proposing any of you pinballs to the rights holders and pinball companies? Also, do you take suggestions on themes for a new pinball table as in what to make it based on (show, game, film, etc.)?

      @@pacsonic9000 We make these pins for ourselves, no plan/expectation of anything being produced by pinball manufacturers. We have a couple theme ideas in mind but we are always open to suggestions.

    ooo an original concept!? This is awesome. I'm actually working on a VPX table with a similar vibe, but more "mine site" than "factory." I do have a spinning wheel similar to that, but it's not that dynamic, mostly just for show. Keep up the great work. Pipe return ramps... why didn't I think of that?

  • @MagicTurtle643
    @MagicTurtle643 Před dnem

    Incredible work. The table has amazing flow, which is what I look for in a table. By that I mean the ball tends to shoot through ramps and return, not just constantly bump off of things and tumble awkwardly back. Love it. Can't wait to see mow.

    Excuse me... Did you see 1944 year pinball? The one, manufactured 80 years ago. Without electronics, 3D printers and CNC machines. I see ypu're proud and satisfied, but I cannot understand why. I'm sorry for this kind of comment, but... I see something terrible in real. Degress maybe. It's most feared thing for me.

    First time hearing and seeing about this Homebrew. looking pretty smooth How did you prototype this? like code wise on VPX etc? NGL it would be cool if this was available for VPX so everybody can enjoy this

    • @PinsanityPins
      @PinsanityPins Před 29 dny

      Unfortunately, we don't use VPX or any virtual pinball platforms in our workflow. We start with some general shot ideas and then lay it all out in 3D design software (fusion360/Solid works). Once we are happy with the layout we build some temporary ramps & returns to get things flipping. Then we make changes until we are happy with the game. Our first video uploaded on this channel shows one of the very early prototypes we made for Pokemon. czcams.com/video/K4-UhDeq6Mk/video.htmlsi=o6Yd826_lZ9AOoFE

  • @MisterVercetti
    @MisterVercetti Před měsícem

    This looks incredible! With a few tweaks and touch-ups, I could honestly picture this in my local pinball hall. A few questions about some of the rules that I don't think were brought up during the video: 1. How do you light your Gym Battle modes (besides at the start of each ball)? 2. Is there a series of rival battles to go through to progress towards the Wizard Mode, or is it just a bonus mode that you can play after catching/evolving enough Pokemon? 3. How do you light WTP, and what's the award for completing it? 4. How do you light your Mystery award? 5. What are the extra two lights on the Pikachu ramp for, since it looks like you can't evolve him?

    • @PinsanityPins
      @PinsanityPins Před měsícem

      Wow you were paying close attention! 1. When no modes are running, there are white shots lit throughout the playfield. hitting them spells G Y M (next to James on the back wall, can be seen on the lower playfield camera) 2. After you catch all pokemon you light rival battle 1, after you evolve all pokemon once you light rival battle 2 and after all 3 are fully evolved you light the last battle. 3. WTP is lit by adding to the Pokedex. you get the first one after 3 entries, then it's every 10. The award is 5 Pokedex entries and 5 million points. 4. Mystery award is lit via the spinner (the bat screen on the dmd has a countdown for remaining spins needed) 5. Pikachu will never evolve into raichu but you still get credit for getting him enough xp/qualifying to evolve (mostly for bonus and consistency across your pokemon)

    i'm building my own table, I started from scratch, and I use wooden balls 4cm diameter and only 28 grams this gives me a lot of inspiration, especially the way you use gravity to let the ball go fast. I hope to show my own table soon. compliments for this one.

      This was mostly developed in MPF 0.56.2 but I'm going to use 0.80, or latest version, for the next machine. The Godot media controller in 0.80 looks a lot better.
