Thanks to Michael outstanding demo on the violin strings. I found it very helpful and informative. I have been using Tonica + Tonica Gold E String, Dominant, Vision Solo, Larsen Original, and Tzigane on my 1898 Belgian G. Mougenot violin. Tonica does the decent job. Dominant does everything well could be a good starter choice for violins. Vision Solo gives the violin a bit brightness and power than Dominants. However, Larsen Original and Tzigane gives the violin more texture and color. Playing and practicing violin becomes more joyful. I also use Tzigane on my contemporary Italian violin that I am fond of it. I noticed Warchal Amber gives the violin sound more enticing. I would like to give it a try next time. I liked these over Peter Infeld (which were great at first). Vision Solo were loud, but keep a nice round sound. Once the overly focused strings go flat they become thin sounding IMO.

What's the bridge made of?

I just bought a 7/8 Fiddlershop Soloist and it is amazing!! It is constructed and better sounding and more powerful than my bench made Gliga violin!

Hi what tailpiece is that and the fine tuner? I’m changing from a aluminium one too wood and I’m not sure what to get ?

On my antique violin it's very soft and unresponsive. Whereas the doms and visions are a dream on my violin.

Left Hand Dominant Violinists can play this as well if they wanted to do so.

To be completly honest, I thought the ebony sounded much better. There was a deeper reedyer Woodmere low end that was lacking in the carbon fiber tailpiece. I even think the ebony had a sweeter high end. More reedy and sizzly!. I'm glad you think there is an improvement with carbon fiber tailpiece, but there was a warmth lost with it to my ears. Thanks for doing this test. I'm using a Samsung a o 1 cell phone with enlarged hole in the plastic cover on the back for the speaker hole. Thank you for this test!😅

Hey there! Thanks for this. I’ve always used the classics, now I’m wondering how to know if my instrument can handle the PI? I hate to spend the money only to not like them. 🤣 Any suggestions on things to be aware of? I have an Italian made instrument that’s middle of the road….($10k value). Not sure if that matters. LOL. Just not sure what I’m looking for I guess. 😂

Folks need to go much slower and in small increments if they want a sticker thats straight and bubble free. I pull about an inch to an inch and a half each pull, smoothing in the middle first and working outward. You certainly dont want wrinkles or bubbles in it.

I have extremely above average grip strength and powerlift, and I push as hard as possible, but the cello pegs always undo themselves.

I enjoyed your videos, but I found myself keep looking for clues as to what these terms mean. For instance. It was explained to me years ago that response means how soon the tone appears - in an old instrument with dried wood, The response is going to be excellent - the tone comes instantaneously. In a newer instrument, the tone is seemingly delayed. That's response, but how would you define focus or brilliance? you use analogies, but you never talk the physics and the specifics like I did with response. And also, I would like to hear something about what they change in the string, make up besides the tension - what are the strings made of in the core?

Thank you for your video! I’m overdue for new strings and I used to play on Evah Pirazzis. I was experimenting with different strings so my A and E string are different, and somehow I fell in love with the combination. Honestly, I’m horrified about buying new strings and hating the sound. I’m debating between the Amber Warchalls or the Evah Pirazzis. Any thoughts ?

Nice mellow sound, compared to the harsher tones of the newly-made 2020s violins. Most recently made in 202X violins have a kind of a harsh and metallic tone, I noticed, especially on the G string. But this newly-made violin has a mellow tone, unlike those.

Considering it has strings I also use often and like a lot, I find the sound a little flat. But it's nicely "together".
