I came across this work last year during Lent, when we were singing a different, "meh" setting. I suggested it to our choirmaster, as I often do (and it's always forgotten the next year), but this year he scared up a score, and we're doing it during the Triduum!

Hi Mattew, while looking for Morley's Fauxbourdon canticles I found yours. Beautiful! Being a musician myself, and very in to Evensong repertoire etc I would very much 'order' the sheet music. (btw, I'm participating in a Dutch choir which will sing Evensong Mattins Eucharist in Peterborough Cathedral coming weekend. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sang this as a chorister and this is the first recording i've heard since then....I love it!!
Edgar Day was my father's choir master at Worcester cathedral and later my piano teacher from the time I was six. When I was 12 he taught me the organ on the organ or Worcester Cathedral until I was 18. He was the most incredibly lovely, sweet, kind, overly modest man and a stunningly wonderful musician. To give some idea of the time frame here, my father was born in 1924 and I was born in 1956.

@richmcveigh A new choir called Antiphon - this was from our first concert on 3rd December 2011 at Buckfast Abbey (as the description states!) The choir's conductor is Matt Cann (Exeter Cathedral Choir) and most of the choir are drawn from his contacts over the years at Exeter and Gloucester.
