Unfortunately, it is the collecting industry as a whole, statues, figures, comics. I've been collecting since a child but the past 22 years as an adult collector (mostly Horror related items). It is a combination of the economy, overpricing, and the market just being so saturated with lines and characters. I never overpaid for things on the second market nor did I chase items that came out. I lost interest a few years back with all this since I refuse to pay these retail prices. It was more fun when there was less out there, you could still find a deal and the "flippers" were non-existent. It is also an exhaustion over time that has resulted in a loss of the appeal and enjoyment to collect. I still collect but I just shifted my colleting to less expensive items or more unique items on sites like Amazon and Etsy. Thanks for the video, it is sad to see that the collecting and toy industry is in the decline YET they still keep pushing out so much crap.

I know this is an older video but with the Cara Dune and Mando from this era of TVC figures, my biggest issue was the poor hip joint design, the lack of ankle tilt meaning you can't put the figure in a wide stance and keep the feet flat and some odd choices in the paint here and there is part of the reason I stopped collecting TVC figures for awhile. They have corrected the problem in the last year or two and while the Black Series has its own set of issues my money is on Black Series. With the recent release of the Mines of Mandalore TVC figure though, I have swapped the lower legs, hands and helmet from that figure and it fixed nearly all my problems with the original release of this figure. Still those wonky hips though. Seriously, those needed to be on barbell joints.

That jango fett figure is disappointing. The helmet cant gover the head. There swappable. I get it keeps paint from wearing off. The figure doesn't justify the price.

Boba fett starwars tvc figure Target has priced 22.99 while the rest of figure line is 13.99. The mark up is crazy for the guaranteed sell. I just go to employee or manager and complain. Whys this figure marked up so high and 75 % of the time i get price cut back down to retail. Or scalpers hit stores buy up the new stock ive seem some even bend and destroy cardbacks just so another collector cant buy a fair condition figure. After awhike they dont sell and employee reduces the price because damaged box. I see how if your going to open one and figure isnt damaged. But the oackaging is all part of haveing a mint on card collection.

Fennec Shand is a peg warmer alongside the never sold Lando. Smh these figs never sell. Its been months since walmart or target has sticked card back. Unfortunately its only been the inside box figs. That nobody really wants. Ppl are lucky to find stires to restock figs twuce a year just to find so thing new. And if your not there in time. I just bought an equivalent Besta setup - not the TV stand as a whole, but 3 regular Besta boxes joined together. I also have 8 Stubbarp legs at the bottom. I want to put exactly 4 Detolfs on top but I'm very worried about the weight, especially since my setup is further elevated with the Stubbarp legs (10 cm or 3 7/8 inches). Do you think I would have a bigger problem because of the legs? I anyway plan to reinforce the Besta corners with support bracket braces, I hope that would improve the sturdiness.

I love the retro OT figures. All of my childhood 1978-1983 figures are long, long gone, so in a manner of speaking I have some of them back. I had been waiting for Hasbro to do this since 1995! But, the Retro "non-OT" figures...no, no, no...not until we get all of the OT figures back😊

I remember as a kid, finding them quite scary, the way they tried to kill Luke and how Obi-Wan made it clear to avoid them at any cost! Disney is destroying Star Wars with its woke crap.

I don’t know about needing to replace your figs with a little paint rub. I have about 40 Kenner figs from childhood and a little missing paint here and there can be part of the charm of an aged figure. When I hunt for a new one, sure you try and find as minty as possible it those can be difficult and expensive. I just won a Blue Snaggletooth on an eBay auction and his boots have some minor scratched but all and all he will look great on my figure stands.

The reason the SW Kenner Vintage Last 17 is so expensive both loose and carded is this was Kenner's last lineup. George Lucas announced that there will be no more SW movies and wanted to cancel the line. Kenner, however wanted to give one last wave and decided to make it limited, so that way there will be no more peg warmers at retail. Anakin Skywalker MOC and Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper are the most expensive because they were the last figures to produce. Yak Face on the other hand was only made for Asia and Canada. Always check websites and price guide books for up to date on value.

I only collect original trilogy too and very specifically The Empire strikes back Bespin main characters. I have Lando, Boba fett, Bespin Luke, ROTJ C3P0, Attack of the clones R2 and two Stormtroopers. I'm just waiting for Vader (obi wan version) Han, Chewie, Bespin escape Leia and Lobot. I like the other movies but Empire is my favourite and money and space is limited.

They are Kenner figures. Kenner was a subsidiary of General Mills and then Tonka when they made Star Wars figures and they are a subsidiary of Hasbro now. Kenner hasn’t been its own standalone company since 1967 or so. Six in one hand half dozen in the other, but for me, the Retros are as pure as the originals.

All the hard-core star wars collectors in the world have amasses huge collection of immense size. They all got them by paying almost nothing for the majority of their pieces although they likely wouldn't admit it. If you've ever tried to sell these things online you'll know that your message center is loaded with nerds living in their mothers basements trying to get something for almost literally nothing. They all hope to rip off anyone they possibly can. We'll they've ripped off most of the people they can and now it seems the only ones selling are the hard-core collectors.....who aren't willing to pay almost anything for anything. Which is probably the main reason the prices are crashing. The days of finding naive and uninformed people are mostly over. Once you get hard-core collectors selling to hard-core collectors prices always take a sharp decline. I'm sure there are other factors but ask yourself.....when you put a piece up for sale what percentage of offers are ridiculous low balls compared to fair market prices? All I know is it's about 98 percent basement dwelling low ball losers vs regular people.

I bought, for my first toy purchase for myself, (I'm 70 & didnt get ANY toys as a kid) Futurama in the early years of 2000's.. They were about $12, & sell for as much as $265 while current reboot is on. Better than money in the bank...

That's a nice Darth Vader BS figure! I don't collect Black Series myself. I mainly collect The Vintage Collection along with the occasional Retro Collection action figures.

Welcome back my friend. It's sad that Target and Walmart don't have any new TVC same stuff been on the shelves for months I have gotten quite a few things past couple of weeks and let me tell you Brian's toys is a great company I ordered some stuff I ordered the last 2 Lando in sandstorm outfit at $55 a figure unfortunately they arrived damaged not being packed right and ups I called to let them know and they gave me a refund for store credit and let me keep the 2 figures very nice of them I also bought a Luke Lightsaber construction, Imperial Gunner, both Bespin security guards, Naboo royal guards, concept art IG-88 from legacy collection and this morning the black series Sargent Kreel came what a fantastic figure that one is keep the videos rolling brother and glad you are back!!!

Thank you for this review and for sharing your delight with the vehicle. Although it's not exactly to scale, it will definitely accommodate 12 troopers if you use your imagination to consider that the rear seats are there, though Hasbro didn't make them foldable to reduce costs. Interspersing the troopers' knees works well. In a pinch, this vehicle could carry 18 troopers: 6 in the side pockets, 6 on the existing seats, and 6 more tucked in the spaces behind the troopers in the side pockets. This would make sense for a relatively short trip and drop off, like we see in the show. I'm glad I have mine. Thank you.

Quite ironic you saying that about Star Wars, as I've been like that for the last few months as well. Spoke to a few guys and its just basically that there is hardly nothing new to look forward too for us OT fans. Im a sixth scale collector mainly and am constantly fed up with the same old crap Hot Toys release where there are so many characters they can do from the OT trilogy, easy money for them but they just dont listen. I think the Dewback is the only piece I have bought from them the past couple of years. I do collect vintage as well but its getting quite hard to find decent versions for decent money, its all over the place. Its actually made me wander into another theme ' Mythic Legions'. I've been very impressed with this line and got my collecting mojo back in line! lol

Not that much vintage collection figures on the pegs but some of the vintage collection figures do sell out so quick definitely the good ones

Glad you’re back!! And I 100% agree with you about Star Wars. We’ve hit the Mandalorian peak and have been on the “quality” decline since. (And don’t even get me started on the Acolyte trailer) I’ve enjoyed collecting the Micro Galaxy Squadron line. Affordable and a lot of OT and prequel love. Nice that a few vehicles can sit on a shelf and not take up an entire room. Anyways thanks for the great content! Love your opinion and take on the current collecting market!
