    This is the best video I’ve watched on combined loading and not to mention, I haven’t understood the right hand rule for YEARS because no one has ever explained it well to me, but this video cleared up all my confusion on everything. Everything I questioned that I didn’t even understand enough to question was explained so well! I wish I found this video sooner

    0:10 in the moment equation the last term, shouldn't it be (10) *(12.5). Because the distributed force has its centre at 12.5 ft away from point B.

      yes, you are correct. It should say 10*12.5. That will give you the Ay of 9.5 kips.

      I believe that would come from v^2/2 - 2^2/2 = .002(2356.7)^2/2 solve that for v.

    I understand that the brace restrains the displacements at the midpoint. But I think that the boundary conditions at midpoint should be clamped instead of pinned for the weak axis because there is a continuity in the column and the midpoint is not free to rotate
