I lived about 10 minutes from Nas Norfolk and for 21 years this was my favorite sound to hear

Use to see these “beasts” flyover the Parade Ground at The Citadel! We would go over to the Charleston AFB and watch them and the C-141’s take off and land! The TF39 engine is the best….!

I love seeing these, they NEVER. Or very rarely fly these during the day. I’d imagine because of the sheer size. Would cause wrecks on the interstate. Incredible machine love watching these come in here in Norfolk

4:59 Im not sure if they switch out jets with the Jolly Rodgers paint scheme, but if it is the same jet, i took a picture of this jet back on late july, 200 on the nose, gold black amd white paint scheme even had the painted fuel tanks, paint scheme on the rudders is different, the letters AG has been removed from the outside of the rudders and put on the inner sides, and the skull and crossbones is bigger and takes up the other side, rudders still being all black with the gold tips with the number 200, its amazing that you see the jet you took a picture of in a video that was made 10 years ago, its so cool!!! Ill put that picture as my profile pic so you all can see and know what im talking about

Did a med-cruise with VFA-136 on the USS Coral Sea 87/88 , We used to tease the dickens out of each other by calling them the chickenhawks lmao , I was in VFA-131 Wildcats they called us pussycats so fair enough miss those days !

I grew up on the north side of Tallahassee(Bradfordville) I remember one day back in 1990 or 91 2 F-16’s flew over at what seemed like treetop level. That was just one of many more surprises over the years.

VMFA-251 visited my home Base Leeuwarden ( the Netherlands ) in 1994, and again in 1999 together with a pair of F-14s and EA-6B's, those where better days back then.

I was in VFA-131 1986/1988 was series 100 back then , Did the 87/88 med-cruise aboard the USS Coral Sea Airlants first and finest . We were stationed at NAS Cecil Field Fla back then !
