We are John and Barbara and we live in South East England.
Our Channel is dedicated to touring and exploring the coast and countryside in our van.
We have recently retired and have started a new chapter in our lives. We bought our Elddis motorhome in 2018 which has opened up a whole new world of discovery, travel and adventure. Combined with our love of wildlife, nature and photography, I think we've found the perfect match.
We watch CZcams videos as a source of inspiration for future places to visit and we hope our channel may also inspire you with your future travel plans. ENGLAND'S LAKE DISTRICT, CUMBRIA - Pier Cottage Caravan Park, Coniston
England’s Lake District has been a favourite location of ours for as long as we can remember, yet we have never filmed it, so of course we had to go back and film it for you. We travelled in April when it was fairly quiet and we managed to capture some spectacular scenery during our 4 week trip. We hope you’ll tune in to our channel to see this beautiful part of the UK.
PIER COTTAGE, CONISTON
We travelled to the Lake District in our Elddis motorhome and we decided to tow our little car as many of the roads in that region are very narrow. Our first campsite is at Pier Cottage Caravan Park in Coniston, where we managed to get a stunning pitch right next to the lakeside of Coniston Water. What a fabulous pitch! So peaceful and quiet in April when we visited, but we were told it gets busy in the summer months. It’s in a fabulous location, within a 5 minute walk of the Bluebird Cafe which serves great breakfasts and where you can hire a bike, a boat or take a cruise on the lake. Coniston Village is just a short walk away and this area is ideal for walking, exploring by car or cycling. We had a fully serviced pitch with water, waste and electric. The facilities were basic, and in April … cold, but they were kept very clean. We will be back as we loved this location.

I know the area well and a happy place for me. It's such a shame the steps at Bedruthan are closed with no access to the amazing beach and have been closed for a long time. Maybe one day they will re open them and we can enjoy the beach once more.

Fun fact: There's a covenant on that field you stayed on banning caravans and permitting tents only. Fortunately, it's never been tested in court, and probably never will be.

Tight little island whwredidthe Ship SS Polititian go aground ? On or near Erisky ? Dumping a great load of Scotch Whisky bound for the U.S. Compton MacKezie’s book Whisky gGalore. My daughter has friends on Barra who grandparents told them of this bit of island history 😊

Loved watching this video. We go back at least once every year and stay at St Ives Bay holiday park. Next visit, we are going to stay at Churchtown farm in Gwithian, great access straight on to the beach as our son loves surfing.

I worked on building the causeway. I am glad that Vatersay has been repopulated . That was the whole idea of it. My kids loved visiting me on the island

Stunning landscape with such beautiful engineered masonry in the dams.
Thank you for your comment. Its amazing to think these dams were built over 100 years ago by the Victorians using simple tools available at the time.Hats off to these incredible Victorian Engineers and workers! The last dam built was Chaerwen in 1946-52.

I've been to Barra, an absolutely beautiful island. OK, the weather was then fabulous, BUT, during the dark, wet, cold, windy winter months - I don't know.
