03-00047 Scania NG 2017 Pitman / Steering rod tool
A new, unique method for easy disassembly of the Pitman/steering rod ball joint on Scania Next Generation. The tool makes it possible to disassemble the ball joint quickly and easily; no disassembly is required for access. The wheels are turned 70 - 90% to the right, and good access is then possible under the car.

Step1 remove hub Step 2 use air hammer with hammer bit on all disc bolt heads to break rust bond Step3 Use impact gun on low to shock the rust in the bolt threads with lost of mec oil Step 4 Remove disc ring retaining bolts Undoubtedly 1 or more with snap on older hubs Step5 Weld a washer onto the broken bolts hammer it while still glowing red then weld and nut to the washer and remove the broken bolt Step6 Use 9" grinder to split the disc Step7 Hit the disc with a 14lb sledge hammer to remove disc from hub. Step8 Needle gun the shit out of the hub disk mount area clean and reassemble.

Just a normal shop compressor that is hocked up to the hydraulic pump.

If you need something like this to get a brake disc off: you do not belong in a garage - go put the tools down.
Using a hammer for example to get the disc off often causes damage to the bearing or wheel alignment. Using this tool the disc opens up around the hub and comes off easier and doesn’t do any damage to the bearing, hub or other intricate suspension parts. If you have to replace the bearing within 3-6 months after using a hammer to get the disc off, you know why…. Another way of not damaging the bearing is to cut the disc to get it off easier.
These kits do look fantastic & beautifully engineered. It’s unfortunate they are so expensive. Now I take into consideration that they’ll pay for themselves. Eventually … no shop wants to or really can afford to wait long periods of time on ROI. It really is on the toolmakers to make these more competitively priced. After all it is some machined pieces of steel & a hydro pneumatic ram. Not components lifted from the nasa jet propulsion lab.
Some tools are cheap to buy but fail before even completing the job once. These tools are often produced in huge numbers and are so cheap you can’t resist to buy them. Ask yourself some questions, how about getting spare parts, what about quality, lifetime, warranty and function? What did they not do or use to make this tool so cheap? Wallmek tools are made to last and do the job as quickly and time-saving as possible. Quality tools with spare parts available are cost-efficient and the only reasonable way to run a business. Why spend money on something that just cost but won’t help you?
