⚘Black Mimosa Cold Process Soap⚘ By ZAJA Natural #Soap #ASMR Hanger Swirl
Black Mimosa is a very soft and subtle fragrance. It has notes of Poppy, White Wood, Mimosa Petals, Pink Pepper, and White Musk.

I first saw the design for this soap in a soap-making forum call The Whisk a little over 13 years ago. The creator of the group, Olivia (whom I believe resides in Germany) was so imaginative and taught us so many techniques. It was a really fun place to be. It was in this forum that I first learned how to use a hanger to swirl my soap. Of course, back then we just wrapped a wire hanger with packing tape so it would not react with our soap batter. Now there are actual tools created for this very purpose covered in silicone!
Listen to me. I sound like one of those "Back in my day I used to walk three miles to school in snow up to my eyeballs..." people.🤣I'm 41, by the way.
When I was trying to decide on what design to create for this week’s soap video, I decided to visit my roots from when I was first learned how to swirl soap. I forget what we even called this design. But it was a big hit at the time. You can do it in three ways. You can either pour the soaps into divided sections (like in this video) or you can pour layers horizontally. Divided sections use an up and across motion, and layers use a down and across motion. You can even slant your mold to pour your layers and then use the hanger up and across or down and across. Just make sure the hanger hits the sides of your mold completely before moving it.
You can even cut it horizontally and you will get a totally different look! Well, I guess that means there are technically four ways to get a cool design with this method.

Why I do ASMR videos:
I am partially deaf. I cannot hear certain sounds/tones. Sometimes too much noise or music can be somewhat of sensory overload, so I actually prefer a pretty quiet environment. Especially when I am working.
When I got into content creation, I was stuck with the challenge of always finding new music that fit my style. I decided to just skip the music and highlight the natural sounds of my work instead.

What water percentage of oils do you use?
It's been three years since you asked the question of how my day was😂 but I might aswell tell you, it was a product, good and also alil fustrating day, I'm new to soap making, I started with cold process soap, I did my second batch of soap today and it seized alil because of a naughty fragrance oil, but it still ends up being soap and probably isn't to bad, I'm now researching into hot process soap because I'd like to try that and your video is really great for a beginner to understand. Have you ever had your soap to mold?
Never. You don't want to add too much yogurt, seeds, fresh flowers, or anything else that might induce molding.

Why do you have to wait 4 weeks to use it? The lye is cooked out isn't it? Or no I want to make hp soap.
The lye is gone even in cold process soap if made properly. The wait is so that the soap can dry out and become a better, milder bar over time.

What do i do if after tasting it there is still zapping, it means there is still lye, do i cook some more?
Yes, cook it more on low until it loses the zing.
Thank you for sharing. I think it's important to note: your HP soap needs more time to cure because of all the extra water added to make it fluid. Without the added water, HP soap is absolutely ready in 48 hours; albeit, the batter is not as fluid as yours.
Yes, that is addressed. Hp should cure for 4-6 weeks just like CP.
This video was amazing! I love that you didn't fast forward through ANY of it. It is a bit of an intimidating process and being able to watch you step by step at normal speed really helps to take some of the fear away.

Hi, Thanks for video and kudos to your efforts in replying to comments. I too have a question. Your recipe has about 6 percentage steric acid. I wonder if change your recipe to say what I have mentioned below will I still get fluid batter keeping everything else same. Shea butter 25% Cocoa Butter 25 % Olive 20 % Coconut oil 10% Castor 10 Palm 10 ?
That's a lot of solid ingredients. I honestly think it would set up way faster. I would suggest making your butters less than 25% of your recipe, and upping the Olive oil.
