I traveled to Brussels, Belgium to try *real* Belgian waffles. 🧇 The main differences between the Belgian waffle vs a regular waffle is they are usually thicker than the American ones and are made with a recipe that includes yeasted batter and crunchy pearl sugar. The Belgian waffles also have extra-deep pockets making them better for filling with jam, butter, maple syrup, whipped cream and more.
