Cebu and Return Trip (07-08JUL2024)
Cebu and Return Trip (07-08JUL2024)
I'm not going to bore you with more Robinsons Mall videos in this one. This trip was more rushed and almost two days shorter. We got in, took care of business, and got out. Our immigration interview was a 2 minute success! It probably helps if you've been married 30+ years. Six softball questions lobbed in from the interviewer, then my biometrics were taken, and we were done. Now I'm on probation for a year.

Hilongos - Lunch and the Market (01JUL2024) A Monday morning ride back to the Roble Shipping Office in Hilongos to book passage back to Cebu for Wednesday night. Getting us there a day before my Immigration interview tentatively scheduled for Friday morning. ...and then afterwards some lunch, and a look-see in the market, which is much bigger and nicer than Sogod's little market.

Wall Cracks and the new Wind Machine (23JUN2024) Took Paul to the airport in Tacloban at O-Dark-Thirty so he could catch his 7:30 AM flight back to Manila. Picked up a new 26" floor standing fan to replace a broken fan, and this thing is a wind machine. Darwin repaired some cracking in an existing wall section, that I'm guessing was due to the footing settling a bit with the more added weight t...

Tankaan Beach party for June Birthday's (15-June-2024) We like this beach for three reasons. It's far enough away from Sogod, so no uninvited party crashers. It's only ₱15 per person, and we can arrive with dozens. Lastly, it's Clean and well kept. Lhmie, Annabell, Roel and myself all have birthday's in June, and Chona said we'd do one party for all of us. On our dime of course.

Very interesting, thanks, tell Chona…. great getting on the boat at the last moment…. I wonder if she will say ‘cheaper’ is better…. Hahahaha….
My ultimate travel goal is to do it like we did in the US when we did road trips. ALONE! Chona's family is great, but paying for their little vacations to come along with us every time... Frustrating.
Pathetic
Nice video, there’s lots of ships, was this part of your visa trips? Or you mentioned a mall, was it a shopping trip?
Yep, it's the return trip for part 2 of my 13a visa process. "The Interview" with Philippine Immigration's.
That vehicle was definitely a People Mover- a great feast on the beach. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, they were really crushing it! 🤣🤣🤣
Great video… all that beautiful rain 👍🏻
I'm in the correct corner of the Philippines for rain.
Looked like you had a body guard walking in front of you in the beginning, lost my appetite seeing the piles of fish, surprised that you didn’t get lost in there and that you were able to find your car…. enjoyed watching….
The market's are easy to navigate. They're all pretty much just squares, and all you have to do is remember which side you came into it from. With some it's the smell more than the visual that is the most over powering. That one in Hilongos almost didn't smell bad at all, compared to others.
Nice refrigerator there. Thanks.
Well done dude. Happy 4th of July
Yes, your dad watches EVERY video, it’s very entertaining to see how you guys are doing in your new culture…. Keep them coming…. Yeah…
good to see you dude. I am glad you're all doing well.
It's nice to see you again. Thanks.
Happy, happy, happy, happy birthday to everyone celebrating your birthdays in June…. Especially…. Ken Jr…. A great and fun time…
Now to just not do a damned thing on my actual birthday! 👍
@@jes2731 hahaha…. Take a long walk away from everyone…. Lock yourself in a room…. Ride your scooter far away from everyone…. Get creative…. Love….
I love the way my wife cooks her Bitter Melon. It comes out almost no bitter taste to it. really nice.
I miss Cebu City, I've been there on our way to Sogod, Cebu. thanks for the view.
Thanks for the Maasin filming…. My second home 👍🏻👍🏻
We have to hit Maasin monthly because it's the closest RCBC bank that our Hilux payment is deducted from.
Nice people
Are these boys from Kentucky 😂😂😂
Well they are all pretty much related one way or another for the most part, so...
Fantastic place, lots to see and do, probably jammed full on the weekends….
There was some sort of graduation party, so says Chona, the second evening, and the parking lot was packed when we came back from dinner.

Sogod is about 30 minutes from my property in Libagon
Hello neighbor! We've passed by there many times. Balsa Cafe is one of my wife's close favorite stops to eat.
Wow, i wondered who's house that was, a shame they let it get ruined.
Mother Nature is BRUTAL on structures here, especially when left wide open to her for years. That house was built after 2000, but I don't know when, so I'm guessing it's less than 20 years old. That and most of the construction "techniques" were more in the sub-standard range. Done for cost savings, but that also lead to its deterioration that much faster.
...oh, and it was one of Chona's aunts house. She passed away a few years ago do to Type-2 related issues, and her husband Rojilio (Roger) still lives in the Manila/Taguig area where they had been for decades.
Nice job on the cameras. Looks like you've still got lots of work left to do. Glad to see you finally getting your office up and running.
Still a work in progress, but as long as Chona's not complaining, it'll get done when it gets done. 👍
Nice curtains, yeah. Thanks
Hi I was watching this video and decided to subscribe. I will watch more in the future.
Thank you, but just a little FYI. I’m retired and not looking to spin up a new 9-to-5. I post these to mainly give friends and family back states side little views of what it’s like here in the Philippines, especially our life, and especially for my father. I’m not doing this to build a channel, get lots of subscribers and make some ball-and-chain job of this. My videos are unedited cuts that if not taken in one shot, are spliced together as is and posted. ...and I will never be giving advise on any topic of any kind. !!!-MABUHAY-!!!
@@jes2731 I live in the Philippines and I like your content. I have not lived here long. Your video was very informative and I appreciate your content. I am just looking at ideas that are economically feasible for me. I hope you don’t mind me watching and getting ideas that work for my situation. So many other CZcams channels post things that have little to do with real life.
@@jamesshomesolarmore2223 By all means, be my guest. My wife of almost 33 years and I have been working for this retirement goal for years.
@@jes2731 thank you very much
The land there is so lush and green with lots of vegetation. Where in the Philippines is that?
Sogod, Southern Leyte, in the East Visayas.
Chona can drive?? 35C is to damn HOT!!! looks like a great swimming hole.
She's a little nervous behind the wheel, because it isn't anything like driving back in the states, and the Hilux is a bit wider and longer than her Xterra, but she does good! The East Visayas, where we're at has actually been cooler that like up in the Manila area, running 40-45C regularly these past few weeks, and the same to the west on the Palawan island. At least summer is coming to an end and we should see a nice little daily drop in temperature the closer we get to your Summer Solstice. It's already a little weird seeing the sun move so far into the northern sky, and June 20th is still 5 weeks away. I'm definitely doing a "High Noon" video then to show how north the sun is then.
"ngita ug away"
Thanks…. How far away was that eatery?
Less than 15 minutes from the house, and almost a third of that time is just getting out of the barrio, being that we're about 2 KM (1.26 mi.) in from the highway.
thanks for the video dude.
All those build videos got my dad hooked, and if I don't toss something out occasionally, I get reminder notes. 🤪
That was amazing dude, That is the way school should be!!! what a great time. Give Chona a big hug for me.
Congrats!! looks amazing. You need to install closet rods in your office, Chona need to exspand her closet 🙂
Y'all have a really nice place, thank you both for sharing it with me.
Looks great…. Terrific job…. Please fix that squeaky bathroom door…. Thought you were going to get carpet for the stairs…. Still using the plastic chair to get up to the top?
WD-40, Check! No, no carpet anywhere. Chona will throw down some floor mats and maybe an area rug or two. Yes, a safer 3 stair step is part of the office woodwork coming. 👍
New subscriber here. Look forward to watching your videos
Thanks, but they're more for family and friends that are interested in what life is like here in the Philippines. I'm not doing this to build a channel or a hoard of subscribers. Now that construction is done, there won't be any scheduled uploading of videos, and the quality will never improve. I'm retired and running a CZcams channel is to much like work. 🌴🌴😎🌴🌴
So, let me get this straight...Chona has AC in her closet? come on dude that is to funny.
It encompasses the closet and my office, we'll never close the door to it. Some climate control is going to be required for all the damned purses she has. Otherwise they'll all rot away over time. In just these six months and the two they were in transit, she already has a few showing signs of degradation, because of where they were being stored.
Looking more & more like your home not just a building site, really nice furnishings. Thank you.
Looking better & better all the time. Thank you.
you're getting it done dude. keep them coming.
Those little boys parents! Growing up without manners.
nice big outside area, it will looks so good once it's all done, your working space at the back is also spacious.
Thanks! It is very Family & Friends friendly, just how we like it.
The property looks great at night. Good luck with the new project dude.
At least the few that Chona wants done are tiny by comparison.
That was a beautiful beach dude!! glad u had fun.
Great time at the beach…. Thanks for sharing….
It was a gorgeous day, and not one sound of karaoke the whole day.
That's a nice break from the work, Thank you both.
Looks good dude, when do you get to setup your office?
Chona's closet is priority, and getting the AC units installed so we can migrate upstairs.
Wow!! you always have lots of people everywhere. One big family i guess :-) keep them coming.
...and that's also why, in my mind, we can never move somewhere else. Chona needs all these people in her day to day life. If we were to find land somewhere else and build a house, she wouldn't have what she needs the most. This depth of trusted family and friends.
@@jes2731 spoken like a loving husband. 🙂
