Yeah, The school taxes are HIGH, But...Ya get what you pay for! It's GREAT district, No worries, Your Kindergarten kids WILL graduate HIGH SCHOOL with their friends. That's a rare thing, and a good thing.

I grew up in the East End of Pittsburgh, But I lived in Brentwood for 12 years before moving to the North hills. 10/10 Solidly recommend Brentwood! Nice little town! I loved it there! Best to be FARTHER from Carrick though. Just saying.

This video brings back a lot of beautiful memories of my favorite city in the USA where I lived from 1990 to 1993 and then from 1995 to 1998 when I had to leave for personal reasons. No matter where I have lived in the USA, no city or town has taken Pittsburgh's place in my heart and over-shadowed that beautiful, friendly, and ELEGANT city (when I use the last adjective to describe Pittsburgh people look at me in disbelief!). I would eventually like to return to Pittsburgh and would like to know if there are any public assistance housing units available in Oakland (south or north). Do you have an idea about THAT? I realize that you deal with private real estate; however, you may know something about public housing as well. If so, I would appreciate it if you could provide me with some information as to what is available. Thank you and thanks for this beautiful trip down memory lane! What can be better than living in Oakland and going to Squirrel Hill and Shadyside to enjoy the wonderful cafes along Murray and Forbes avenues and Walnut street? :-)

Greenfield might be a better option for you… not so in demand but close enough to everything!

I live in nearby Swisshelm Park. And it’s nearby neighborhoods make up a tremendous area to live in: easy access to the restaurants and shops on S. Braddock and in the Edgewood Shopping Center, and to The amazing Frick Park. It’s a quiet, family neighborhood, and yet you’re right on the Parkway, which gives you easy access to the whole area. If you’re moving to the ‘burgh, definitely check out this area

It's ok. If you are into driving everywhere and not having a walkable community 😂😂😂. It's like a place you go to get some sleep but not live. But to each there own... walkable neighhoods are a must. Friendship, Point Breeze, Dormont,Mt Lebanon, Brookline, Bellevue,West View, Aspinwall and Lawrenceville or Etna for comparable prices n sade neighborhoods

About 25ish minute drive from Bloomfield 👍🏻
You neglected to mention the history of that location. It's built on the old Mayview State Hospital grounds. Actually, as you mentioned, the location really is excellent with tons of things to do especially in terms of recreation. There is also an upscale retirement community right next door.
Yes!!! Mayview opened in 1893!! I remember it always being there as I was growing up.
@livinginpittsburghpa true story. I worked in mental health. I worked at a hospital in New York. A new doctor noticed my Pittsburgh Steelers shirts I would wear and asked why. I said I was originally from Pittsburgh. I found out that he worked at Mayview when it closed. I told him that my first job in mental health was a what's now Mercy Behavioral Health due to the closing of Mayview since patients were being relocated in the community. Small world!
Stiller tailgates are the best! Practically a religious experience. Love seeing everyone on weekends dressed in Steelers swag. It's everywhere, restaurants, stores, even hospitals. What more can you ask for except maybe Isley's chipped ham bar-b-q and a cold Iron! Both are must on game day.

What's interesting about the Hastings location is that it's built on what was Mayview State Hospital. That aside, it's an excellent area with lots of recreation activities and an upscale retirement community right next door.
