Suzuki GS CV Carburettor Bench Test Float Level
zhlédnutí 997Před 3 lety
The best way to test your float levels and the integrity of your needle valves, is to bench test your carbs before putting them back on the bike. The float bowl hoses can be bought online or self made. Don't waste your time and bruise your knuckles putting your freshly renovated carbs on and off the bike. Do this first.
Suzuki GS Vapour Blasting Horror - Get this out of your engine

After the engine was vapour blasted, all this fine destructive media was left behind. I ended up drilling out all the passageway plugs as the only way of doing it.

That front guard scoop is solid metal and can be polished to a mirror.
Can i also use this same tool to adjust air/fuel screw?
HHmmm not really. The best way of adjusting the air/fuel screw, is to adjust each screw to obtain the highest rpm. As you adjust these screws in and out the rpm should rise and fall. Set them all so you get the highest rpm then adjust the idle screw to obtain a good idle (1,100 rpm?). You could try and use the vacuum gauges to do the same thing - potentially. Adjust each fuel mix screw to give you the highest vacuum across all 4 cylinders.
First time I do this so be patient with me 😆, so i adjust air fuel screw one carb at a time until there each at highest rpm and then adjust idle like tge video one carb at a time? Highest vacuum means what on guage or without guage? Maybe its easier to do it without guages sounds pretty ez, turn air fuel screws until it revs high for each carb and tgen adjust idle for each carb?
Perfect. Try it out.
So i do it as i confirmed in last message? 1 carb at a time when adjuat either fuel/air and idle ?
Singing a great song from the heart. Good on you Richard
That bike ain't running right!
The same malady that they all have. Clogged low speed jets and generaly just filthy gunked up carburetors.
I have a 1986 model. Love it !. What are your front forks off?. Cheers
I think I they are from a GSXR.
Howis the idle adjusted on these efe's ?.. mines a little fast, want to lower it silghtly
What a sound. Sounds like a wounded animal.
This is so amazing! I want to visit.
Luv it
That's an A prefix for the year.
That's an awesome bike. Wow
зачем я это досмотрел до конца? почему я здесь?
timing chain slap.. I had the same problem with my z1r 1135 fitted with a heavy duty chain & manual tensioner
Hi there I really appreciate your video. I just wanted to ask if you have to adjust this often?
Nice looking bike. I have a 1985 in original stock condition. I really like the front end on yours.
My new set have started to chatter a fair bit after just over 3000 miles, I was thinking of synchronising them, I definitely will now ! Thanks for making my mind up 👍
It’s Running Football. It’s a joke
Ïf second cylinder runs bad, have you checked the fuelcock ? its vacuum operated and if the membrane is dry in it it will suck fuel thru the vacuum line, and its connected at cylinder two, that makes it run very rich making it go bad and the sparkplug get all black.. (The fuelcock is btw still made by the company that made them for suzuki so you can buy it brand new.. or buy an aftermarked membrane.)
Are you little stupido. WHY??? YOU MAKE SHITTT
where do you put the hoses?
I have a 1981 GS1100E and the clutch basket makes a loud clunky banging sound. I replaced the clutch plates about 5,000 miles ago because of this very same sound. The clunky banging sound went away somewhat, and now it is so loud you can hear it from across the street.
Extra sound, reminds me to a Mad max I when Goose was firing up his Kwaka ✨✨✨✨Question: front Forks/Bridge from GSXR750 or? Rear swingarm from?
Got me wondering too what he has used?
Hey mate, is the sound located? I’ve the same
I replaced the whole crankshaft and had the engine rebuilt. That fixed it! But I never really determined what was causing it.
sounds shite to me
The guys are right, replace the cap screw and check again. It’s also possible the mixture screw is well off giving a poor performance on that carb. Really shouldn’t be that far out. Try it n see if the clatter improves. I had it on a ZZR600
Just try n see if it reduces the clatter a bit……. I had this on a zzr 600 that sounded like a tractor 😆
I think I might be tweaking the air mixture screw on no 1 carb to make sure she’s at optimum revs at minimum idle speed…… then balance. Just a suggestion
Good video , thanks for sharing , I also take landscape videos in UK and sometimes abroad .It's very helpful. I subscribed to the channel, so I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for the good video

Screw missing on No. carb cap, may be the reason it is out of sync with other
Hello. What model of carbs did you use? I have a 1980 Suzuki GS 1000 but apparently they sold me a wrong model, the one they sold me is the Mikuni RS34. They haven't reached my home yet, but I don't know if they are compatible with my motorcycle. Please, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.
They should be fine.
I enjoyed this video a lot - however, I am used to Keihin CVK carbs as a Kawasaki guy, and they don't really look even close to this. For instance, no brass pickup tube to carb bottom, but every step of the way they aren't alike. I think I have managed to clean all my Keihins so far, but whether all the circuits are actually inspected is a bit suspect. Often I seem to get floaty revs unless setting a super low idle, across various bikes, and I am wondering if I have missed something, or could it just be the slide springs ageing.
I can see the aluminum cracked in two places
Está en 2 cilindros
I am with TJ. I just put a set of RS36 Mikuni Flat slides on and that chatter/clicking sound is not cool. Is this how you address it? A simple knob adjustment under one of the caps?
Don’t move the throttle, dude!
Morning sir, trust you well. Nice content and interesting. One question for you.. When your bike is switched off can you put bike into 2nd gear from 1st gear?
Q cavernícolas jijijijijijiji
What are you doiing yoy are the the stupid i have same bike
Is the release rack supposed to be that sloppy? My 85 GS1150E is sloppy too. Just turned 18,000 miles and its really upsetting with the clutch noise. Anyone out there have the answer?
Not all cylinders working
Sounds like your gettin t0 much gas mate!
Seriously...
Mine is 1985 and they are known for bad cdi. You can't get OEM anymore but if anyone needs just the cdi box go to regulatorrectifer.com. $207.00+shipping. That's where I got mine. Problem solved!!!
Nice one !😀👍
love this very clear explanation thank you!
Excellent video! Straight to the point and very clearly done. Thanks for posting this. :o) BTW...assuming that's not a new carb, how did you get it so clean?
Vapour blasting is the way to get them to look like this. but then the vapour blast media blocks up all the little passageways. Nightmare!
Nice suzi
