I’m 29 . My father walked out when I was 11ish. I never understood him but I hated him for it. I’m older and have gone thru relationships myself and have kids. He was pushed away but I never saw that to me he just left. I forgive you Dad and I miss you so much. I hope one day we can sit down and talk about life .

I remember being 17 years old in 1999 and coming home from school and being told my dad’s closest uncle passed away. My pops never showed much emotion growing up and even now to this day. I’ve never seen him so sad and I remember hearing this song on the radio during that time. I’m 41 now and and when I hear this song I think about my friends who helped me through that hard time.
