Awesome countryside . Shame about the " Victorian " weather . Awesome , if rather Bulky Truck , Bru .
Good stuff mate, I just recently went to Big Desert for the first time and you’re not wrong about how deep it is. I’ve done a bit of sand riding, but that stuff there was tough on a fully loaded bike!
Looks amazing mate also looks tough going
Awesome video mate keep up the videos can’t wait for the next episode ! have a great day
@@Scottygee422 thanks mate. In the road atm. Heading west will get some good vids up in the coming weeks 😉
Hey buddy, do you need a heavy licence for this truck? Cheers 🍻
hey mate, yes, you do as their GVM is 5500kg. However you can remove springs in the rear axles to reduce the load weight and get it below HR
@daring2venture671 cool thanks for the reply. I do want to get a perentie, just need to work out if I want a 4x4 or 6x6.
mate never do that again you do not use a snatch strap on the tow ball unless you want to kill someone i relise it was only slow but you still dont do this many people have been killed doing this
cheers for the feed back mate, I had to pull another car out recently, and yes, kept it off the tow hitch :)
Love the rig, bought a pinzgauer 6x6 vector PPG, not very tall, so thinking of a roof extension, might take a leaf out of your design.....
Thanks mate, it's still a work in progress, so never really finished. the Canopy is great! but many things I would have done differently so reach out if you want to know more. looking forward to our next trip away later this year. cheers :)
Transmission wined up what caused it Eg uneven Tyre pressure ?? and im running Yokeys on my Bits a missing and not impressed with them. Salamat po.
Proud of you Benji
Thanks mate, I'm just trying to keep pushing forward here :)
Great vid as you said these things are absolutely awesome and who needs aircon and a radio out in the bush
lol exactly mate, I was just soo impressed watching it work in its element !!
@@daring2venture671 every time I take mine out I am grinning from ear to ear they just purrr along so nicely
Pretty sure we have crossed paths a few times on the road... Also keep an eye on those rear wheel bearings
where are you based mate, I doubt there are too many of these things around to get confused :)
@@daring2venture671I'm on a common route for melbourne bound traffic roughly 3 hours away, and yours looks pretty familiar. I have a 4x4 GS and a 6x6 ambo. Off memory you were parked and I hung around for a while but our timing didn't line up.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy ah mate, spewing Im always heading up that way, going up again end of month. lets catch up :)
Awesome vid Benji and the last 4-5 minutes cometary 100% on the money if you want all the mods and cons buy new I have a 99 model Landcruiser HZJ with over 500000ks very simple to work on wouldn't change it any other way take care mate keep the vids coming
thanks mate, yeah this truck has cost me a pretty penny, but still cheaper than a stock standard ranger :) and so much more fun to work on :) thanks for the vote of confidence :)
nice video tank you show use around can you show more from inside really interesting
Thanks mate, yeah, I will do a complete build video also but want to make that one a bit special :)
Maraming Salamat at Mabuhay Ka! -André
Thanks Benji. Such a great tour 👍
Great vids mate, just wondering where you sourced the hub seals from and how theyve been holding up. Cheers mate
Hey mate, thanks for the comment. the O rings are holding up great! really stiff to turn the dial, but that is fine in my books. You can buy the O rings at any good hardwires store, Reece etc. Peter bought the rings so the were not hard to get. Good luck with it :)
@daring2venture671 no worries thanks for the info. Good luck with the truck they are a rippin unit
With the need for strength in a tow bar I think you need to get someone more skilled to do the world. Sorry to rain on your parade.

Good work mate 😉 bonus point for you 😂
Years on and thankfully you are still inspiring people
Haha. Thanks mate. I’m trying my best to keep getting out there 😉
How's the influence! 😮
Just trying to keep up mate 😂 looks like the podcast is going well. Love hubermann 😉
We loved having you there, supporting us once again. Cheers mate 👍🇦🇺
That looks like the southern section of the Milmed rock track. Keep safe fella
Thanks mate. It was actually netting fence track in the south of the park 👍🏾
Thanks Benji, thanks Peter. Mine leak as well. Cheers for the cure.
Hey Benji, frontline looks awesome. Can’t wait to do it in may. Anzac ride I’m pumped for too
Awesome rig. I wouldn't want to be sharing the video bit where you are sitting on the top of the truck whilst its moving. We have the sort of authorities in this country who wouldn't let families keep a magpie as a pet. BTW, is the Isuzu motor a turbo or non-turbo?
Driving that rig on wet tracks will destroy them. Is it really neccesary?
The truck is an ex army 6x6, it's what they were built for
I appreciate that, for the military. Totally unnecessary and ruins the tracks for everyone and causes closures.
Don't need to be too technical. Good one.
Good on you mate, glad to see content that is real. Great work 👍👍👍👍👍
I have reed the book twice and also listen to it more times than I'd like to admit. Love it very inspiring
Thanks mate, I really appreciate the positive feedback. Gotta keep having a crack :)
Love the constant content pal. Keep up
I love this content mate, keep it up
Brilliant set up mate. Love the canopy. Just wondering if you have Salisbury diffs?
Hey mate, cheers. It was a mission to get it built 😂 yes. The Salisbury diffs come with the truck standard 👍🏾
...to be honest best state in the country except for the politics
I think that could be said for every state in Australia (I'm in W.A.)
.. yeah maybe go side i think its less deap
oh if they are new yeah shouldnnt leak. should be o ring seal in there behind the red dial
Like they say..."A grinder & paint make me the welder I aint".
Go on ya Benji , keep it up pal you’re doing really well. Love the new videos.
Fire trucking landrovers!!!!! i still love them but!!! 😵😵💫😤 lol
Hello Benji give me a call please!
Nice one Benji. Love the work mate
Why have you got free wheeling hubs on the rear axle anyway? Aussie army has been using these utes for years, well proven
Hi mate, thanks for your comment, The FWHs take the unneeded wear off the rear axle when doing longer bitumen stretches of road. I will put up another vid soon with some other issues with the cerntre wheel bearing etc. that was also identified as an issue. cheers.
Shame you didn't get a GMV 6x6.. would love to see how that would go as a camper..
Free wheeling hubs have an o ring seal normally around the cap but they also have bearing grease in them not diff oil so id say you need a oil seal on your axel and run bearing grease in the hub for the bearings not diff oil as its too thin id ask a mechanic about this but i think im on right track as oil seeps past the o ring seal aisin and warn brand hubs i know do have the seal pulling the hub completely apart to inspect or a call to manufacturer is only way to know if hub has a seal in it best of luck
Thanks mate, yes, you're right, bearing grease is normally used, but funnily not in these ones. I actually disregarded the instructions and added in my own bearing grease and initially thought that this was the issue maybe blocking the seal or something. There is a solution on the way, I will make a vid to sort it all out hopefully :) thanks again.
You might find those hubs need grease that would hold back the oil.
Love to see a walk around of your set up on the back and how you put it together. Love your vids. Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks mate, yes, will do a walk around in the coming weeks. have some trips planned. cheers again :)
Good job Benji. Love seeing this stuff. Keep it up
Glad you enjoy it!
where is the spider???🤣🤣🤣
what spider ......
Why are you recovering of the tow hitch? With an investment into a rig of this type I would think your expertise would have you knowing this is not a wise way to recovery.
Hey mate, thanks for the comment, I dint actually have the tow hitch on as I was working on it at home. these trucks also came standard with a pintle not a ball. I only had to lightly tug him out, so pulling in a straight line back off the cargo lifting hook I thought was going to get the job done :)
More the strap is on his tow ball? I see you only did a tow recovery but even so why run the risk and why even demonstrate that. @@daring2venture671
Very Scary… glad it did not snap off and kill ya…
@@daring2venture671 Madmatt would have been referring to you attaching the recovery strap to the towball of the bogged vehicle. Plenty of videos online of the towball snapping off & going thru windows & worse. You did a gentle snatch but it still stresses the towball, best to wrap the strap around the chassis crossmember. Good vid though. Wonnangatta never disappoints. Good thing there was no Jetstar pilot to have a say about the drone..😄
@@deejay3218 Hey mate, thanks for the heads up. Ill remember that for next time. thanks for the sound advice :)
At two minutes in you’ve got the snatch strap connected to a tow ball mate … do you research do some driver training course!
lol There is no tow ball. .....Maybe some grammar training for you too mate :) all the best
