    Very nice. I'd encourage you to publish your plans. I know I'd build one. You are probably aware but there is a resource section on the flite test forums where you could publish. I'd probably put gear on mine though as I'm officially an old man and that is quite big for me to yeat into the air.

    Would have really liked to see the actual airplane fly. Not the landscape. Looks like a great design. Maby make another video actually showing the airplane flying and its flight characteristics.

      I haven't looked into any autonomous underwater capabilities. There are some ROV Facebook groups that would probably have more information on that subject though.

      Those are glass rocks for ballast to make it sink. I had trouble with them sliding around in the tubes though, so I later replaced them with metal washers that I held in place with screws driven into the PVC pipe.

    Where is the CG at? Im busy with basically the same type of build.forward swepped wings 1000mm, fuselage is 600mm. Motor turnigy 2836/1000kv.

      @nathanbroman1601 Před 2 lety

      I used the CG calculators at rcplanes.online/index5.htm#CG to find the CG location. For a more accurate simulation, you can find the neutral point and CG using XFLR5 software (it's free).

    Hey I'm interested in making a rov I'm just a little confuse how do you control it because i see a cable what is that cable called and how do you make a controler

    • @nathanbroman1601
      @nathanbroman1601 Před 2 lety

      I use relays to control the motors. The wiring instructions can be found here: www.homebuiltrovs.com/howtorelaywiringdpdt.html. Peter Sripol used these relays in his recent ROV build: www.amazon.com/Forward-Reverse-Module-Actuator-Reversing/dp/B0879GGVPZ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=27G5NXO7Q8KKH&keywords=oono+relay&qid=1640137841&sprefix=mono%2Caps%2C151&sr=8-3. They look like they would be easier to set up. The tether has three cables. The first is an ethernet cable for turning the relays on/off, the second is thick speaker wire for powering the motors, and the third is an RCA cable for the camera.

  • @mickiesmountain5681
    @mickiesmountain5681 Před 3 lety

    Thanks good information. Maybe go back to phisics class though or basic electronics. My camera and motors run off the same battery as does everyone's who does rc fpv. A capacitor on the power in will eliminate most feedback/noise from the motors. Me LEDs run off the same battery. The resistor is just generating heat and wasting power. A pdb or power distribution board is used. They're cheap

    Very nice! A box wing aircraft is however scientifically labeled or called a "Mono-Plane" because it's considered to have "one continual inter-looping airfoil" or wing. Monoplane! Very nice though, I love to see people experimenting to gain an "in-hand" or "on-the-sticks" understanding of aerodynamics. Way Cool! Robert
