I love this, I just wish it could be full screen
That Sea Serpent Looks STONED . 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
6:15 that giant squid kickstarted a lifelong fascination with them.
Ohhhh the feels!!! I literally imagined being young again sitting next to my family members on this attraction. Take me back!!!
This was so great to see! I never experienced this or the skyway buckets, but love both systems. Monorail too. Thank you. :)
Wow. The tenon portion is sooooo disappointing. The MCP doesn’t sound anything like the actors voice from the movie.the display of random 1980s graphics in the walls of wireframe stuff is just blah. Why do such a disservice to the movie, the IP and tomorrow land in general? Really too bad.
Is that Paul Frees on that narration?
The People Mover was my favorite ride at Disneyland, especially at night. You didn't need a bucking roller coaster experience to enjoy the ride around Tomorrowland. I really miss that experience.
I went in 1975 and I could have sworn the sub was attacked by the giant squid?
This is way better than Floridas version! Bring back the peoplemover at D23 in August
Wow! Thanks so so much for this! What memories! Probably 1983-84?
Oh God I remember being a kid and bored outta my skull in the Pan Am Circle Vision theater. My parents would be talking with my grandparens sitting and waiting for it to start while I'm laying back worried that there wouldn't be enough time for all the good stuff.
Nice to back in time every once in a while.
Definitely miss this ride
Eat your heart out, SpongeBob!
i hate the real future, this is the real future
If I were in charge of Disney I would revamp the entire Tomorrowland. I’d get rid of the Jules Verne theme, and bring back the retro -jetsons-googie look . That way it would remain “ timeless”. I’d bring back this ride, move star tours back to Star Wars land . I’d do a modern improved version of the atom ride instead. I’d bring back the space flight simulator. I’d put a tron attraction in the area where innoventions is
Thank you for giving me back my youth - Florida is awesome but not the same ❤
I really miss those vintage days at Disneyland. Classic narration and unique attractions! You are missed Mr Disney.
At 10:04 is there a better image or a way to get that picture of the cart and pumpkins?
audio is the BEST!!
Nemo can get deep fried. The original theme blows that clownfish out of the water.
They should have kept it rather than wasting time with those ridiculous rocket rods and permanently damaging the track which of course they never bothered to fix since they were too busy making other parks rather than taking better care of the ones that already existed.
The captain sounds like the dude from the twilight zone episode the one where ppl where stranded on a planet and some leader guy got obsessed with being leader and after everyone was getting rescued he stayed on the planet because he didn't want to stop being leader
I loved this ride as a kid! I remember they had women in mermaid costumes sitting on the rocks waving at the crowds. They removed the mermaids due to health concerns. We went on the Nemo ride a few years ago, and we were the last to board so we were under the hatch, and it leaked all over us. Still had fun
Such nostalgia! *Thank* *you!*
Thanks for sharing.. brings me back to my childhood❤
I really miss this ride 😢 ...today the track & loading/unloading zone still sits above Tomorrowland as a reminder of a forgotten attraction
What mean person decided to take out the people mover!? That and space mountain are my favorite rides at Disneyland!😢
The same person who robbed us of our favorite evil computer virus before the tunnel.
This was back in a time when you could stand at the end of Tomorrowlandland see everything moving. Rocket jets, Autopia cars, skyway buckets, monorail trains, peoplemover cars, submarines and the carousal theater. It was very kinetic.
One of mankind's greatest losses.
Who's brilliant idea was it to remove the People mover and the rocket ride on top of the station? it was so iconic..
The People Mover was a ride you got on because the line was never long, and the goal of any kid at Disneyland was to get on as many rides as possible.
Relevant in 2023, as NOTHING has been done with DL Peoplemover since this epi published. Smh.
We loved this ride! We would get our snacks & kick back for a little time out. It was also the best place to watch the fireworks & then catch the monorail back to the hotel. Disney had a master transportation plan for around the park & between lands. That’s all gone now.
Honestly they could bring back the People Mover. Would it close Tomorrowland for a couple of years? Yes, but honestly it’s time to give Tomorrowland a huge make over again.
That ride was awsome
I have a deep respect for archivists who record things knowing that one day their footage will be so interesting and valuable!
This is cool but it would be better if you had the original soundtrack...and now the Tomorrowland PeopleMover becomes a highway in the sky!!!
Xavier Atencio voices
"Paging Mr Tom Morrow" This is a cool little nod to Flight to the Moon.
If you're going to say, "Aye, aye, Sir," then why don't you just say, "Me, me, Sir?"
Wonders of China, from a Time When China Was Not an Enemy of the United States.
Growing up in the 70’s, this is what Disneyland will always be to me. Low crowds , rides like the people mover, simplicity at its best. No two hour waits to get on a ride because “AP’s or KeyHolders” made the park experience terrible. Hope they bring back this slow moving, relaxing ride!
Does anyone know what happened to the mermaids?
Thank you for sharing this!
One of the golden videos on CZcams! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you
Disney really messed up Anaheim's Tomorrowland. This looks so much better than the current state of the land; with the more uniform retro futuristic architecture, the darker edgier tone to the attractions, etc. were what made this Tomorrowland different from the others. Take Space Mountain for example; the one in Florida had a warmer tone compared to the colder more mysterious tone that this Space Mountain had. This may be a hot take, but I am not a big fan of the 2005 Space Mountain refurb and just the drastic change in tone that took place in the rest of Tomorrowland with the "Tommorowland 2055" project attempting to change Tomorrowland to something it isn't supposed to be. The best example of what a Tomorrowland redesign should be is the rework that Tokyo is receiving/
I went on this in the 80's...not sure if it would be the version/one I went on
