The potential issue with the new Defense Minister (and why some people might think this is bad for Ukraine) is as an economist his job is going to be to ramp up production and supply for the Russian Army to build up their forces, with actual tactics being left to the generals. Increased war production would be a massive threat.

The argument for appointing an economist to the Defence post is that modern armies rely heavily on arms production and an economist, theoretically, would be better at that than a military person. But! Belousov is really old school, he's known to be a hardline defender of state interests over those of businesses. Whether this will boost production is moot. Putin, for example, is throwing $billions at the airline industry in an attempt to emulate Boeing or Airbus _and_ the engine manufacturers such as Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, GE and CFM. But $billions is simply not enough. For example, you need the electronics, the modern materials and so on - unless you intend building 1950s style planes. The airline plan has not been a resounding success. And so it is also with the military production. It'll take _years_ for the production of tanks, of artillery barrels and on and on - all the complex support systems and goods to fight a modern war. And Belousov does not have that time. By next year, Russia will have exhausted its supplies and soldiers. The country is already running out of money and is bumping up and applying new taxes to finance this ridiculous and ill-judged invasion.

What happens when losses of tanks, armored combat vehicles, and artillery get to the 100% mark?

Lets get those fuel depots too, no fuel for trucks, no delivery of supplies, no fuel for Tanks, no assaults! No fuel for planes, no deliveries! No fuel for boats or ships no big deliveries of equipment!

I do think the loss numbers would go down when burn rate gets close to 100% simply due to less existing, so I kind of doubt the numbers are fully accurate since destruction of hardware has not fallen off a cliff yet.

does my math make sense? Losing over 40 artillery pieces a day means they will run out by mid-July. 89.4% means a total number around 15,025 so with 13,433 losses leaves 1,592. AT 40+ a day, 40 days left. Lots of variables but the attrition is huge and impact is meaningful.

Please contact your elected representatives to demand that Ukraine be allowed to use donated military aid against legitimate military targets inside internationally-recognized russia borders, when done in self defense. Please write to your elected representatives to request this. If you are a US citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and soon. The sooner we give Ukraine the weapons it needs and permit their proper use - to liberate all of its territory - the sooner this war will be over, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the White House website. One can also google for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.

The loss statistics only include enemy action. We don't have a count of artillery pieces destroyed by bad ammunition, lack of maintenance, or operator error.

Comme je l'ai déjà écrit, le pourcentage me paraît excessif , prenons ppar exemple celui des chars Il était estimé avant l'invasion que la Russie disposait d'environ 12500 chars en service et en stock. Donc 7828 chars représente environ 62,5 % et non 78% soit environ 15% de moins. Le pourcentage peut être de 78% que si l'on considère que plus deux milliers de chars stocké ne sont pas en état de fonctioner du fait de mauvais stockage.??🤔 Peut être , est il raisonnable de faire une moyenne entre ces deux données , ce qu nous donnerait environ 70% Soit environ 8% de moins et que l'on peut appliquer de la même manière, cette minoration sur les pourcentages des Blindés d'infanterie et l'artillerie pour rester au plus près de la réalité.
