Valve Clearance Adjustment How To E30 m20

I wanted to add to some of the content already out there on how to perform the valve clearance on the m20 engine as its a maintenance item that should be checked regularly. Spec - 0.25mm on a cold engine
Fuel Pressure - How to check it!
zhlédnutí 2,2KPřed 2 lety
I check the fuel pressure (fuel pressure regulator (FPR), fuel pump) on a e30 325i. Check your shop manual for the right fuel pressure setting for your vehicle! You will need to buy an inexpensive fuel pressure test kit to perform this test, and have basic knowledge of vehicle systems including where your fuel lines run and identifying your fuel rail.

How to MIG weld a patch in car floor pan. E30 bmw.

This is my first welding how to video. I have been welding new steel into my 325i sport for the last 6 months. When I started there were not a lot of HD youtube videos on mig welding on cars so I thought I would make one. I used 1.8mm steel sheet, a Lincoln Powermig 180c welder and 0.6mm super arc wire with a Argonshield shielding gas. I am sorry my head is in the way of some of it. I didn't re...
Idler Pulley Removal and Replacement - (aka tensioner pulley) Subaru Legacy GT and WRX
zhlédnutí 53KPřed 11 lety
This was very easy. I am not a mechanic and this only took me 30 minutes. I would put the complexity not far above doing an oil change. Sorry that I mostly talk in metric. The car in this clip is a Japanese import Subaru Legacy GTB wagon. EJ20TT (290bhp) The same principals should apply to many Subarus. When tensioning the belt I read the spec for a replacement belt, I should have tensioned it ...

Gasless mig (Flux core) is acceptable, if you know how to use it, and can also be used outside, where a gas mig would just have the gas blown away if you try it outside. Inverter MIg welders with flux core have come a long way recently for thin metal.

Very good video John, especially because it is your 1st :D Also you work on great car, I like 325 a lots, wanted to buy one but it is hard to find one here (or they are very expensive or ruined to point you cant fix them - Im talking about 20-25.000 Euros for M ) And I let that idea for some other time. I bought Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 24v (1999) and she is rusty - floor is biggest issue and rocker panels . She have sit for 4-5 years and she need a lots of work now - brakes dont work as they should, engine is leaking oil and a lots of other smaller or bigger problems... It was a short time project but it is almost 9 months now, a bit because it cost a way more than I expected and more because of bad weather here ... But she is complete now - need just few things and about one month more... It worth every cent and second I have invested in her <3 I hope your project is finished and that you are satisfied.... Cheers :)

I replaced my tensioner pulley today, and the pulley they gave me looks like the pulleys that aren’t on the tensioner. By that I mean the pulley isn’t the one with all the lines goin around in a circle. It’s just a solid pulley. Will that matter? If she gave me a pulley that’s different but same in size will it hurt anything?

Thank you for the vid, I just brought a mig welder for body work / thin sheet metal aswell as other jobs, trying to build up a knowledge base from your vid and comments, funny reading such comments such as you call that rust from those Americans, what the Americans don't realize is New Zealand has very tight vehicle inspection especially towards rust and modifications, new Zealand only allows rust holes to be as big as a 20cent coin, I'm a kiwi living in the united states I've seen vehicles with rust holes size of dinner plates and still legal as road worthy, and some US states don't have vehicle inspections, I'm not wanting it for rust but wildlife when it jumps in front of ya, yes I've hit afew Deer

Nice video. The only point I'd make is that if you're adjusting the tension on the alternator belt at the same time, there are two more bolts that need to be loosened before the adjustment and then tightened afterword to lock it down. Those are on the left and right sides of the alternator. The one on the left is just below the tension adjustment bolt. (Just replaced both belts and was wondering why Rock Auto recommended a pulley tool to replace this idler. Your video makes it clear that I don't need another tool for that.)

I also got the PCV delete kit. There is no benefit at all. Yes there is another way for pressure to scape but it is not enough so my valve cover gasket blew and I’m leaking oil around the valve cover. Did a bit research and other people have gotten the same issue. The oil catch can does not resolve the carbon buildup issue but allows pressure to scape. Best thing to do is get the PCV valve again.
