Here at Rob Booth Visuals, we feel that car culture requires a certain cinematographic approach. Appreciating vehicular beauty and engineering are the primordial steps to becoming a petrolhead, if this sounds like you, then just maybe you're in the right place. We're only small now, but this is simply the beginning. If you like one of our videos, please do not forget to like, comment and subscribe!

Rover Review: Introduction: The Rover 25 represents an iteration of a very long product line. Its roots hark back to 1984, stemming from the original Rover 200. The generation we see here belongs to the R3 era, codenamed 200 from 1995-2000 and then the 25 from 2000-2005, subsequent to a midlife facelift. Today’s model is the 1.8 GTI, produced in 2000; incidentally, this is when the 25 was Brita...

1) Intro and housekeeping: This is going to be a fairly in-depth video on gearboxes, so I suggest not watching if you don’t appreciate a certain level of geekery! First of all, I’d like to say a few disclaimers: the test car in question is a 2011 VW Golf 2.0 TDI with the optional 6-speed DSG3. I have driven other DSGs from the likes of Ford and Audi (7- speed) so therefore can bring a rounded a...

RobABooth Apologies for clunky voice overs! The Ford Fiesta Mk.1 was first introduced to UK markets in 1976, it’s arguably the most recognisable car among its supermini peers. The supermini market is arguably one of the most populated sectors of the automotive industry - competition has risen steeply since the introduction of cars from asian markets, notably from Kia and Hyundai. RobABooth Mercedes E270 CDI (S211) Review: Right up to the early nineties, Mercedes were said to be over engineered, meaning that company profits were not as they could have been. When designing the 1995 W210 E-Class, Mercedes made the brave decision to lower build quality in aid of greater profitability. Long story short, the W210 generation was a rust nightmare - try finding one w...

Thinking to get a Grand C Max, not sure as we are considering S Max, Galaxy, VW Touran or Toyota Verso. We want a 7 seater MPV.
I have a Ford C max it’s been a very very good car except I don’t trust it
@@longbeachdarrell What do you not trust about it?
Yeah I am wondering the same. You said it's a very very good car so why would you not trust it??
Where you gone mate we need more reviews👊🏼
I need to start again! Appreciate the support
I've just brought mine today love it
It’s long overdue
how reliable is it?
My DSG in vw golf petrol TSi is shite, I prefer my old CT200h personally.
😂😂😂 Are you actually old enough to be driving on the road son 😂😂
Why is it not "automatic"? Please tell me.
The term “Automatic” generally when people think a car is automatic it is a torque converter transmission which works using hydraulic fluid and centrifugal forces to drive that fluid out into fins which then connect the gearbox to the fly wheel hence when you take your foot off the brake the car begins moving forward immediately and you can control this movement with brake pressure A DCT/DSG/PDK/Dual clutch is all the same just branded differently That essentially is two manual gearbox stuck together, one clutch for odd gears and one for even gears the clutches pressure is controlled based on brake pedal pressure and a host of other variables hence when you remove your foot off the brake there is a slight delay before the car starts moving as that is when the car know to release the clutch pedal and engage the gearbox. In traffic and in uphill situations the load is greater on the gearbox so this is why “creeping” is very bad for a DSG as you are essentially dragging your clutch as you would in a manual if you were to keep the clutch at its bite point and use the brake to keep the car moving or stationary
Very informative video thanks,I am about to take ownership of a 2.0 auto DSG Diesel VW CC from 2008 so will be interesting to see how it handles everyday driving.I would likely be able to do a bit of Intervention if acceleration is required all of a sudden I would expect?
I have a 270cdi touring. 2003 . Keep up with the simple maintenance and they go forever.
Another video for people too lazy and/or stupid to shift.
A very good review of DCT. Just to add if I may two other drawbacks of DCT from my experience. 1. the gearbox tends to hestitate at roundabouts and junctions and does not like to be hurried. Its not very good for quick smooth takeoffs and the car can wheelspin at times. 2. The car tends to jerk in the 1st gear providing very uncomfortable driving experience. In my opinion DCT is not suited for regular city and town driving which is why I rate torque convertors very high as they provide the best allround experience and there is no match to it for refinement and smooth gear changes. Modern torque convertors are brilliant in that there are so fuel efficient like the one in my Vitara. Of course DCT experience will vary in different cars but from my experience it has its limitations in town and city driving and you can't use creep function like you do with torque convertor gearbox as it will wear out the clutch plates and can cause expensive repair work.
👁️👄👁️ in 2002 Punto. Ya’ll got a heat gauge or an rpm meter yet?
I purchased the exact same car based on this review. Love it
I've got the 2011 evo 1.4 petrol 77 horsepower got the car very cheap is totally s*** totally underpowered a lot of Road noise coming into the cabin Bluetooth connectivity is quite interesting that all about the car is the Bluetooth better buy the Corsa or the Ford.
260kms still running strong
Great review 👍
@1:24 In the end it is rugged and durable material that doesn't look too bad.
Is this reliable
I have one. Will never let go of it. Too much fun. Did change the rubbers (motor mounts and suspension) to polyurethane and the shocks to Kone. It doesn't torquesteer anymore and gets the power down really nice. It's at least as fast as the latest gen Golf R, since I've been playing with some recently, and an R is 4WD. It has received a little love under the bonnet. It's a really nice sleeper and it's more than plenty fast. It was my daily driver until a year ago. I bought another car for commuting since the MPS is totally bonkers and really it's a keeper.
Okay, the guy is a moron. He has no understanding of how the logic gate in a dsg works. If you're in daily driver mode ( I call mine dr Jekyll) It's going to short shift when you're not putting the throttle down, because that's what you're asking for. If you run the throttle halfway to the floor you'll get a normal shift pattern. If you bury it, you'll get a sport shift pattern. Could this be any more simple. The faults in a dsg become apparent when you mess with the logic ( downshifting while accelerating close to the midrange. up shifting while decelerating etc.) The fact that he doesn't address any of these issues means he has no clue how it works, or any experience with the box.
The problem of entering into any experiment with your conclusion already worked into your hypothesis is you will always find a conclusion to support your theory.
Remap to 170bhp in your dreams. Owned a 200 vi rover for 10 years modded all-sorts and it still was no where near 170bhp.

This video feels cheap
Lucky that it was cheap then!
Brilliant little motors, I think they actually still look quite fresh and sharp as well. This one in particular sounds lovely, throaty without sounding offensively loud and nicely balanced with induction roar. Also, 6.7s to 60mph is respectably quick!
Thanks for the comment and agreed that it’s quite a good little car. Having gone through a few BMWs and Porsches since, the simplicity and honest nature of the little Rover is quite appealing.
1200 69 cv fire evo is a elastic and more durable and strong motor ....this motor reached 400.000 km without problem
Interesting but why do we have to listen to all that background noise. would have been a better presentation to give the talk and only .add the car bits when required. Not a well thought out presentation.
Wrong wheels and whys a 25 gti got a mg badge on it.
What a heap of shite
Sorry but what is torquesteer? Can you tell me?
It's like your little brother pulling the wheel to the sides while you're driving. Not to dangerous but to keep in check. Also, it gives you something to do behind the wheel
Golf mark sex
I have a series 2 with 400hp and I have no idea if the roads where he is is Fked or he can’t drive for shite
I don’t think you finished your sentence? What’s the correlation between your car’s 400hp and my driving? 😀
@@RobBoothAutomotive LoL broooooooo
No junk and not worth it.
I went from dsg to a zf8 gear box in a Bmw it was so slow compared to a dsg
Sorry if it's been addressed....but can you leave it on automatic 24-7 and not damage trans....I know I'd be losing fun factor but I care most about least amount of maintenance
i've got a 2003 E Class 270 CDI Avantgarde with the sports and convienience pack. The 5 cillinder engine are known as well as de 320 all unbreakable :) mine has got 410000 kms on it, and looks new, drives like new. in our S211 club they are driving with 987000 km's
SO YOU SAY IT IS A CAR FOR WOMEN?!?!
When did I say that? Cheers for watching.
What’s the difference between Mondeo and Fusion? Aren’t they the same?
the Mondeo reviewed in this video pre-dated the Fusion/Mondeo "merger"... before that the US Fusion looked nothing like european Mondeo
The ultimate sleeper
It's not so much the clutch or the gearbox. It's more the dual mass flywheel. They are not as strong as they should be. I've had 2 failures and it always toasts the clutch.
Is wrong how you start the engine 🤣
We have two, a 2002 and a 2015 punto lounge, for 3 average weeks wages in NZ you can by a lounge model with 60k on it. Apart from cam belts tires and servicing , that's it, ours have never had a problem, long or short trips, the 2001 is approaching 200k. Can't beat them for price V km travelled.
engine braking does not increase fuel consumption.
you sound British but you drive on the right side ? or you have a right side car ?
Great review thanks so much, I appreciate your time in making this video! I'm looking at buying one! :)
And I take my Grandads car and drive like a twat!
