Have a question for you if you don't mind. Given the channel content it looks like you might be a Pachaug expert. I'm thinking about buying a bike specifically for riding this trail. What would you suggest for a 1st time dirt rider and this trail loop?
first off you need a plate on the bike. KTM is the easiest to register. Any dirt bike will do but the best are the ones with 6 gears cause there are connecter roads that you go over 50 mph on. If you are a beginner, 250 CC and up will work. I have a 2009 KTM 400 that is perfect for what I do. The best bikes to look for are lighter ones cause there are a decent amount of areas that heavier bikes (air cooled) tend to beat you up. Again, any dirt bike will do with a plate but you want to finish the almost 60 mile ride every time. Don't buy a bike with issues and get stuck miles into the woods. If you have a bike in mind, I can let you know my thoughts on it. I have ridden pachaug on many different bikes so I can give you an idea of how well it can handle the various terrain there.

That portion of the trail has been miserable for the 23 years I've been here, nice job riding up that section. Gotta watch those water holes, some are 4 feet long and just as deep.
Great video again where are you guys on video 11.? You go up a rocky leggy hill with some logs down in it I don’t recognize that spot. Looks interesting though. Maybe we can meet up sometime and ride together on the weekend.
How do you guys end up going through the cornfield on the way back? We usually come up through the ledge face with that nice overlook and meet up on the other side of the cornfield. Just curious thanks great videos by the way
Yup..We try to ride every weekend. NETRA Lot (Spaulding Rd) is the best start spot in my opinion because it's instant action, we can ride everything and the loop leads back to the lot. Other start spots require some kind of back tracking or raod time before you hit trails.

@@cep8214 We are riding Saturday morning. We take off at 8am. We get there arond 7:30. Will be one or two other riders. We do not do the hero sections (Mt. Miserey/Babyhead). We have done it enough :^)

What part of the trail is this? I rode a small loop around Mt Misery today and it wasn’t as open as this.
Part 10 was at the entrance to the Wyassup lake boat launch. The road we took off from in this video was the section after it.
Its not that wet out there.. with all the crazy rain we have had I expected worse mud.. I just rode the southern loop just before dusk..
Some spots were dry that are usually always wet, and some were wet when usually dry.
Looks like a nice ride. I've hunted that forest but didn't know it was oped to riding.

I've been riding everywhere but Chaug.. I kinda miss the place. I wish I could have gone over the weekend but I had family staying over...
I thought this section was officially removed from the loop, at least according to the map posted at the NETRA lot. Was it reinstated?
No idea. I have been riding it for 16 years to get to boat launch.
OK, thanks...just curious. I may have misread the loop map. I use to take this part of the loop to avoid the long roadway to Wyassup.
