Omg, this is one of the worst COD's levels of all time. First of all, it doesn't add anything to the story. Then we have THIS part. If you don't know about barrels - you'll fucked. That's the only way to beat it on veteran. But when Woods telling you about barrels you can't hear him, you just trying not to die. And also - no checkpoints, if you die you will wait while the script sequence will end. Who, just who tested this level? 😂

I’ve beaten all of the cod campaigns on veteran. This is a very poorly made one. Absurd amount of just clusterfuck scenarios that a lot of people get out of cause of luck. This campaign is not a testament to your gun skill thus far.

My Grandfather was a hard man, a quiet man and always scared me a little bit as a child. He was a man of few words and could be awkward to be around because you never really knew what to say to him. I knew he’d been in the war but he never talked about it.. Until one night around Christmas we were sitting by the fire late at night after a few whiskeys and suddenly he began telling me about his tours in ‘Nam, how it left scars on his soul that wouldn’t heal and how nobody could ever understand what they went through over there… Slowly, I reached over and took his hand in mine, and I said “Grandpa, I understand.” I began to regale him with the story of my experience playing the SOG level in Call of Duty: Black Ops and how hard me and my men pushed to take that hill, we lost many good men that day and it still haunts me. I looked over and my Grandfather as he stared at me with pride and sad recognition, tears welling up in his eyes, and neither of us said another word. No further words needed to be said. We were 2 men who both understood what it was like to crawl through those trenches of hell kicking barrels of napalm, witnessing many untold horrors that I shudder to speak of. My Grandpa became my best friend after that and we played Call of Duty multiplayer together for years to come. The end.

Went about 2hours hitting my head against the mission, caved in and looked for a guide, got it after about 4 attempts. What a joke. If the objectives had been laid out clearer, it would've been different.

For anyone replaying this mission.. its difficulty is a FARCE hug the left side with woods.. after kicking the barrel GO PRONE, recover, back to woods, get check, your welcome.

The worst thing I have ever put myself through. People told me heart of the reich was the hardest mission, nope

thank you so much. Its crazy that this is still needed 12 year later. I spent the better part of 3 hours trying to get down into the trench and just dying over and over again once i got there because that was where the objective tells you to go for some unfathomable reason.

Not only is there no where to take cover, and if you make is to a position the enemies still respawn there, but also, i caught some little shit blind firing from behind cover

I was able to beat the whole game on veteran within a matter of 2 days. Granted, it's definitely not the hardest cod overall. But there were definitely a lot of frustrating moments that took me a while to figure out. Took me a little over an hour to complete SOG. This mission sucks. Some other missions I found annoying were "executive order", I thought "Numbers" sucked, and "project nova" felt like it went on forever.
