You can see the mountains only in the second half ..
As a local I’d say where you parked is probably not the best spot as it blocks a gate that could get used by farmers and emergency vehicles. If you went up the hill a bit on the road you’d see a lay-by people park in. Binevenagh is beautiful though. Went hiking there earlier for the first time in awhile and I have to say the way I went was less travelled and my way back down was a gamble full of loose terrain and close calls. Very tedious but loved every minute of it! Definitely worth a visit form anyone whether you are a local or a tourist.
Thanks for your comment. I didn’t park at the gate I parked at the lay by, you can see that at the beginning of the video as I pass the wall where the river is on the bend. I don’t know who it was who parked at the gate at the end of the video but as you say, it is a bit irresponsible as emergency services may need access.
@@ColinM_CZcams oh sorry, smart thinking. It is irresponsible but that is people for you. Hope you enjoyed your hike, it’s always a great day out! I was there for 6 hours hiking, doing photography and admiring the view with a friend. All I’d say for anyone planning on going is to wear appropriate footwear and bring clothing for cold and wet just incase as well as the necessities of water and snacks possibly even a picnic!
Yes, we enjoyed our hike, the weather & scenery were perfect!. Great advice there on what to take & wear, always be prepared for the unexpected!!

Glad you liked the video!. If you like the Titanic, then Belfast is a must see destination with lots of titanic history.
@@ColinM_CZcams thanks for the information sir 😊👍 you deserve more subscribers 💯💕
Thanks for the video, I visited U434 today - be great if we could have more detail of it’s history- the missions it undertook, accounts from sailors- but obviously that cannot be revealed. I was expecting a WW2 German U boat rather than a 70’s Russian submarine.
I think most people would come to that conclusion for a U-boat. It’s still cool to see a Russian boat from the Cold War era!.
Curious, if the stern or the bow of Titanic was near those stairs that you descended.
It was the stern of the ship nearest to the gate with the stairs
@@ColinM_CZcams Thank you for your prompt reply. Your answer makes sense given the raised area the dockworkers were standing on beneath the propellers. Thank you again!

Have friends that lived just down the road. When I came over for visit, we would go to Grianan. Majestic! There is a Holy Well about 20 feet away down the little path to the side of the ring fort. Wonderful memories of my weeks there 🍀💚
@margaretyerves2748 it’s a wonderful area with beautiful scenery & somewhere I want to explore more. Glad it brought back memories for you!
This shaky black white edit with the white stripes that trys to make the footage look old is kinda annoying.
Sorry it annoys you, but you have a few choices. 1. Skip forward the video 2. Don’t watch it Thanks for your comment
Yes!!!👍👍😀😀
It’s a great scenic drive for sure!
At 12.24 you'll see the Morar Hotel where BBC weather lady Carol Kirkwood was brought up...her parents owned the hotel.
I didn’t know that she was brought up there, I would’ve mentioned it in the video had I known. One of the best weather forecasters in my opinion!!
Thank you so much for uploading ❤ I wish I will go there one day ❤❤❤ for tour
You’re very welcome, glad you enjoyed the video!
This video to my mind, is just so trimendous, l have been on that a few times, but had to cut off at a certain point in the road to get to Loch Awe , there used to be a steam boat up there & l always liked to go for a sail on it, & years ago they brought up a railway carriage and made it into a railway cafe which was very good & you could have something to eat before you went for a sail on the steam boat, but that was long years ago, but a long time after that they brought the steam boat down to Loch Katrine, but apart from all that I always enjoyed driving along the A82, so thanks for posting this great video that I have thurly enjoyed.
@johnkerr1953 thanks for the high praise,i’m glad you enjoyed it!. The steam boat on Loch Katrine is on my bucket list for the future for sure!
Only discovered about this walk today and found your video... really well done.. the visuals and the information on the history you included. And the music was not at all intrusive. As near to going on the walk oneself as possible!
@shooster5884 Thanks very much for the nice comments. Glad you enjoyed the walk & video too, it certainly has a lot of interesting history!

My favourite drive in all of Scotland. Brings back a lot of happy memories from childhood, driving up from Fife with my Mum and Step-Dad to their caravan at Kinlochleven, with my aunt and uncle with the caravan next to us.Did that 3 or 4 times a year from the age of 11 until about 15.Good times. The melancholy music adds to the sentimentality of it for me.Although i remember my Mum breaking down crying the week my gran died, listening to 'The old ragged cross' on tha cassette player coming through Rannoch moor into Glencoe.
Glad it brought back happy memories for you!. You must’ve seen the scenery in all weathers, in the 3 or 4 times you traveled along the road. Thanks for your comments.
@@ColinM_CZcams For sure.Nothing beats coming through Glencoe with the sun going down and red and light and dark blue sky's at the end of the glen, and deer running about on the hills and fish jumping out the still lochs.Magic!Had a tear in my eye watching it.Thought I was too young to be a sentimental old fool.
@ianleishman6774 You paint a wonderful picture!. Nothing wrong with being sentimental, it’s amazing how a sight or even a smell can take you right back to a moment in time & evoke happy memories.
Nothing wrong with Fife either by the way. A wee run along to Anstruther for what are probably the best fish and chips ANYWHERE then round to St Andrews for ice-cream at Janetta's in South St.
@weepair2 Sounds lovely, there’s lots of great driving roads in Scotland for sure!

Not if your a Scot its not , every time there is an accident ( often ) the detours are absolutely HORRIFIC ....in some case depending on where its happened i am talking HOURS .
Ooh I can imagine, not really any alternative
Well, this Scot drives it regularly and it's still my favourite road, no matter what. Never fails to excite the senses 😍!
It gets my vote too!!
Would love to go to Scotland one day, will put this on my list of things to do there. Thank you for this video
Glad you enjoyed it. Be sure to book early as the Jacobite can sell out quickly, especially the first class carriage. Scotland is a beautiful country, you will not be disappointed!!!

Not a tourist trap, when you have a choice to go on it or not
One of the world's greatest train journeys. Doesn't need all the Harry Potter fluff to sell it.
I agree, the journey is famous worldwide & spectacular in its own right, but you can’t blame west coast railways for tapping into the Harry Potter franchise as it brings so many customers.
Brilliant drone work at one of Northern Ireland's most under-appreciated monuments! We loved our time there, and would like to have seen more - we got to see a bit more thanks to you!
Thanks for the kind words, it’s much appreciated!. It’s my favourite place to visit on the north coast & took me several attempts to make the video as it’s 60 miles from where I live & the weather was either too windy for the drone or not sunny. I wanted a nice sunny day to show it at its best!!.
Been a long time from i been up there .as a young child i remember the two old ladies that lived there i remember meeting them when i was a child , thank you for the video .
@thomasgraham5842 glad you enjoyed the video & that it brought back some memories for you!
We drove from Moffat to fort William last week, absolutely amazing,a trip I will never forget
Love a road trip, but it’s even better with the stunning Scottish scenery as a backdrop!!
We stumbled across your videos today! So pleased we did! How did you capture this spectacular site without visitors? And, I was under the impression drone flying was not allowed at the causeway? Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the comments & glad you enjoyed!. The video was made over two visits. The first visit was at the end of lockdown when the Giants Causeway was still closed, this was when I got the main drone footage. The second visit was more recent and comprised the walk to the Giants Causeway. I was unaware of the no drone flying there as I use an app to check no fly zones & it didn’t mention this on it. Also on both visits I never saw any signage to say no drone flying anywhere. Both of my visits were early morning so no people or very few were present. As the Giants Causeway was closed at the time of my first visit, it was perfect to film with no people around as you wouldn’t be able to film normally with people around due to drone regulations.
5:35 viaduct
Oh Yes, wonderful views.👍
We rented a cottage in Glenfinnan, saw the Jacobite a few times . Walked up and watched train cross over the viaduct. The train was all booked up , couldn't use it. We drove to Mallaig and the dogs and I got the normal service back to Fort William. And my partner drove us back to Glenfinnan
We would’ve loved to explore the area more and film the Jacobite from different locations but had very limited time. The Jacobite tickets usually go on sale in December I think & can sell out in days for the first class carriage. As you say, you can take a normal scotrail service & see the same sights, but the steam train is an exceptional experience!
Very interesting video especially the condemned cell and execution room.
The condemned had no idea that they were spending their final hours living next to the hangman’s noose.
@@ColinM_CZcams Yes, they thought they were going down the corridor, across the yard to another part of the jail. Not 20 steps from their bed! Albert Pierrpoint's fastest execution was 7 seconds from entering the cell to pulling the lever on the trapdoor!
Love the music so different and you got a pretty wife
Thanks for your comment, I tried to find some music that I thought would sound like it would be used in an underwater scene from a film or documentary. 👍🏻
In Aussie Slang Gaol refers to Jail..So in Irish too..!
It’s old English word for jail. You can use either or, but in this instance I used it because that is how this experience uses it.
I loved watching your video of this magnificent old steam train and the adventure you went on. I am hoping to do this myself in a couple of months time. PS, I was at Carlisle Railway Station on Thursday to catch my connecting train back to Newcastle and when I was there seen the Scots Guardsman and it was awesome. I had my GoPro camera with me and recorded this. czcams.com/video/sm9Y-CFMP1I/video.html
Thanks Luke, glad you enjoyed it! It’s always nice to see a steam train, even better when you’re not expecting it.
@@ColinM_CZcams yes for sure, I had no idea the Scots Guardsman would be there when I was at Carlisle and it was the highlight of my day when I seen it. When I first seen it from a distance I was thinking it was the Flying Scotsman (I'm not into trains really and know little about them)
This is amazing! I’m going to add this to my bucket list! I had no clue that the Hogwarts train was real!
Glad you enjoyed it, it’s a breathtaking train ride. If you haven’t seen it, check out my glenfinnan viaduct walk video for a look at the viaduct & station. 👍🏻
It's not the "Hogwarts train". It's a scenic train journey that has been running since the 80s. It is nothing to do with Harry Potter.
@@leeosborne3793 I kinda figured! Although, isn’t it the train that was used as the Hogwarts Train in the movie? I always thought the train in the movie was fake/non-existing
@@lynnvc402 The locomotives and carriages used in the films are real vintage British ones, and the ones used on this train are similar. What I'm saying is that this train is not a Harry Potter tie-in or an official Harry Potter product. A lot of people seem to think it is.
West Coast Railways supplied the engine & carriages used in the Harry Potter films. The actual engine “Olton Hall” is on show at Warner Bros Studio Tour in London. West Coast Railways do promote it as the Hogwarts Express & even have a Harry Potter shop on the train. They’d be foolish not to capitalise on the film as it brings extra visitors to ride the steam train. It is also mention on their website “Hogwarts Express”.
Thanks for tagging me in this on Facebook mate. Great video!
No problem mate, I know how much you love cars!!
Disclaimer: 1.This is not an exhaustive review of the show, & i dont aim to film everything at a show, you have to attend yourself to see it all!! 2.
