A quick video to show you how to bolt a turbo 350 transmission to a 5.3 LSX engine. No bullshit, no slideshow with music, no heroic grinding montage.

    That looks like a flat flex plate like the one used on the 6.0L. 5.3's used them in '99 & 2000, the crank hub was longer. Every 5.3 after uses a dished flexplate and all that's needed is a small hub adaptor that taps into the flexplate bore and extends it .400" to accept the torque converter hub, $15 on Amazon. You'll have to slot the bolt holes for the converter bolts too. www.amazon.com/dp/B087BV5X1M?tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1

    I just installed an LSX Turbo 6.0 in my C10. I haven't figured out how I'm going to get vacuum to the Turbo 350 transmission shift modulator yet. Have you figured it out? Or do I need to just buy a vacuum pump of some sort. This is a show / street truck so don't say, "Just shift it manually." LOL

    Won't the RPM's be a lot higher on the freeway with turbo 350 vs a 4l80e? I have a turbo 350 and sbc 350 and man on the freeway doing 70 the rpm sucks, too high.

      Dragtv FirehawkLSX Yeah! There are a LOT of dudes running TH400’s behind LS engines.

      @@rat_crispy1013 yeah, I'm thinking of swapping my 4l60e for a th400. Will I have to get a smaller torque converter or should I get one on the same rpms?

    • @rat_crispy1013
      @rat_crispy1013 Před 5 lety

      Dragtv FirehawkLSX the TH400 seems to be quite a bit more robust than the 4L60. As far as torque converter size and all that jazz I’d be lying to you if I said I knew enough to help ya.

      Zee Money yes you can. You just need a different trans. And the stock ecu would have to be flashed for whatever trans or you can go aftermarket ecu

    The 6.0 already has the spacer built into the flex plate. I think a 350 bolts directly up to it!

      @hardball107 Před 4 lety

      '99 & 2000 6.0L had a longer crank hub so it will, all other 6.0L will need the Hub Kit. $50 www.amazon.com/JEGS-601010-Crankshaft-Spacer-Adapts/dp/B078WJK4FZ/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=6.0L+ls+crank+hub+spacer&qid=1592621411&s=automotive&sr=1-4

  • @robertstern6232

    First off good video! So im guessing im going to need 3 of the longer bolts to go into the elongated holes? Is that right?
