Kia kaha ✌️
A strong team. Kia kaha
I'm an Indian Kiwi who was in the NZ army, and when we went to the marae in the first week of basic, the moment everyone sang this waiata, that was the moment I felt connected to our land. I live in the big smoke now and it's easy to get lost and depressed in things that don't matter. What matters are the basic concepts that tikanga has, and the people around you. It isn't just a culture, it's a lifestyle. Thanks for this upload, brought back some nostalgia
Beautiful story my brother 🤙🏾
Imagine being a British Soldier in 1841 and seeing this for the first time.
The soldiers i dont mess with
Maori warriors... how cool
I wonder why women aren't allowed to do hakas.
They have a role in haka. There are also songs meant only for women.
women are allowed to do haka 😂 some iwi allow women to wero
Tumatauenga e karanga e te iwi e - Tumatauenga is calling to the people Kua eke mai nei ki runga te marae e - who have just set foot on this marae Mauria mai ra e nga mate o te motu e - Bring with you memories of all the dead Me nga tini roimata e maringi whanui e - and so many tears spilling forth nation-wide Titiro e nga iwi e nga mahi o te motu - Look at our people working across the land E hora atu nei e - Spread out far and wide Rū ana te whenua, whatiwhati te moana - Shaking is the ground, quivering is the sea Aue te aroha te mamae i ahau e - Oh, the love and the pain within me Rū ana te whenua whatiwhati. Hei! - The ground shakes and quivers, yeah! Tumatauenga = God of War Marae = gathering place
Thank you!!!
Kia ora Delma!
Proud to see our Soldiers paying tribute to Their Homeland! Thank You, Gentlemen! Beautiful impromptu performance! Kind and Respectful Regards, Gentlemen, Uyraell, Proud Grandson of a WW1 Veteran (Passchendael, Oct, 4th, 1917), and Proud Nephew of a WW2 Veteran (Alam-Haifa, Bir-Gubi, El-El Alamein, Crete, Monte Cassino); ANZACs, Both. Rose was a coward!
why zuzuzu1970?
the whole UN and its command coul have done more to stop the carnage! I meant the whole UN!! Shame on you UN! The thousands have perished and they just counted the shells fired on civilians in Sarajevo!!
I was there as a un soldier. And yes you are right. I dont think the un military were cowards. Its just that the un has no business in a warzone. I am happy now to work together with bosnian troops in all parts of the World as collegues. We learned a hard lesson in your country.
OMG ITS MY DAD ! 0.0 3rd on the left hahahaha
