Nice! I get your thinking. HEQ should consider designing a gimbal which is better suited for upward mounting, or extend the negative pitch
Are you just having issues on the bench when plugged in on USB? There have been some reports of issues with the Matek USB board (the external board). I get an intermittent issue with my crossfire where it suddenly locks up on the bench. Absolutely fine in flight though.
Great Vince!!!
Jist make sure that in the event of RX failsafe it is set to retract before the Autoland.
Yes exactly. I thought I found the setting to make sure that happened but now have lost it.
Hey!!! you made it! i'm following your ptoject on Ardupilot Forum!, how much does it weight? only the retract sys?
I think it’s about the same weight as the gimbal, 70g. I think there may be a better (lighter) servo option, slow but high torque. Guess I need to buy the gimbal now.
@@vincehogg8935 Looks really functional, i'm about to buy the gimbal too.... could you share your files?
@@sergiooropeza5602 Ok I’ll put them on grabcad tomorrow probably.
@@vincehogg8935 Great! Thks!!!
put soft-ish springs underneath the carrier, on the rails
My issues are intermittent - my last two flights - absolutely nothing happened. So grateful this all started happening while operating something capable of landing itself.
that is an awesome build . I am starting to do some robotic builds myself . I am retired and learning a lot of new things . keeping my brain active and having fun . thank you for sharing look forward to seeing more of your projects .
What are the advantages of such horizontal suspension?
None. Thats why I changed it.
شكرا جدا ليك
I like the chassis.
That thing's awesome!
Wonderfull work. 🙌🙌🙌

Love you man
Vince - great job on this! I've been an an advocate of "Split Part shell" for about 15 years. For what it is worth, you did not need to make a surface - you could just use Sketch 3 for the split. It's just a minor tweak, the general approach is solid. I use it all the time
Great solution! Thanks for sharing.
Max power of 1kw meaning it has 250watt motor x 4?
I design 3D Printed UAVs and had the same issue around the edges. thank you very much!
What keeps the pellets from dropping out? An elastic band? O-ring? Does it work with slugs? Nice design though! Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
nice!
Are you going to try selling this
Hi Vince, were you able to 3d print the aircraft? I am finding that Cura cannot print parts with shell and solid features. A part has to be either a solid extrusion or a shell, cannot be both.
Hi, yes I have printed the aircraft with few problems. I use S3D on homemade printer. However since then I have had big work changes and have not had enough time to finish it.
This was surprisingly interesting. Thanks for sharing
Very detailed - thank you for sharing.
Thank you!!! You've saved my ass, I've been struggling for hours
Brilliant, you have saved me from hours of torment...lol. Great workaround thank you.
How did this payload work out? I'd love to see the video feed.
This is C mount lens converted to M12 screw ?
Hey Vince, was looking for a workaround to a similar problem and couldn’t find a solution that didn’t entail changing the external geometry. Something my customer couldn’t consider. Great method, thank you. Would be interested to see more of your projects.
Thanks for that. Not many projects at the moment, apart from house fixing.
can the herelink be used as standalone video tx-rx?
Hows this project coming along?
Which gimbal is this
hi could you answer a couple questios please? how did you wire your gimbal and what settings did you set on the herelink i can not get mine going if you would like myn email mioght be easier thanks
Can you advice where i could locate a power cable connector for the Airlink of the Herelink
Too bad you can’t just pour the pellets in the top of the chamber and shake it and have them drop down inside your loading chamber to make it easier, instead of loading them by hand into your chamber. But great idea nevertheless.
Thanks for the video. I reached to your video after i have problem to control camera gimbal. As nowadays there are lot of camera gimbal with integrated camera, and it seems herelink is not very well with them. What i actually means is that, 1. Herelink only provide 1 very small hardware wheel in which it can be use to give pwm value to any movement that you would made. But it is self centered, in which will cause headache for pitch gimbal control. Obviously you need two wheel, 1 for pitch and 1 other for yaw. They should do update. (I ordered the herelink from foxtech and it do arrive yesterday). 2. And as the gimbal is now have more functions like yours, digital zoom, rec, stop rec, the button itself cannot control these camera although through pixhawk cube. Here i can see need to have seagull rec for this purposes. More headache. 3. Two sbus cable on the air unit but only one can be use. What is this another cable use for? If only you guys can reply my comments, and give answers, i would definitely like to hear it. If no answers, then keep away from herelink remote controller although they are advertised with pixhawk cube.
Hey How did you get to show soo many channels on your buttons tab of QGC. I can only see 4 or 5 channels on mine.
Hi. I will be using solex as my default app. This is my solex settings along with my pixhawk cube orange pins for which I have connected a three axis gimbal. In solex, (I have set the wheel settings by default to RC CH : 9 and I have connected the pitch axis of my gimbal to AUXILIARY : 1 of my pixhawk cube orange pin) and (I have assigned A short press to change the wheel settings to CH : 10 and I have connected the yaw axis of my gimbal to AUXILIARY : 2 of my pixhawk cube orange pin) and (A long press is assigned as clear wheel settings to get back to CH : 9) This all are done in solex tx app in herelink. And another thing is that A short press and A long press, both the button channels are set in as toggle button and not a momentary button in herelink original settings, so will the above setup for gimbal work as I expect ? Should I set to toggle or momentary for the A short press and A long press ?

This helps alot, thanks for making the vid. You may have already mentioned this but what type of camera is that? I am looking to have the same zoom feature and that one looks nice. 👍🏼
It’s a Sony A5100. All the Sony Alpha range are small and light but the 5000 series are the smallest.
@@vincehogg8935 thanks!
He Vince, how did you set the herelink wheel to control the zoom in and out?
Really amazing stuff.
Superb. 👍
Hello friend! I have a problem connecting the same equipment to the PIXHAWK flight controller. More precisely, I connected it correctly, the video from the copter is displayed, the control channels are correctly displayed in ardupilot, but the telemetry in the form of batteries, satellites and everything else is not transmitted to the remote control, the remote does not see Pixhawk. at the same time, Pixhawk itself sees the remote control on SBS. it seems that I did not correctly set the telem or mavlink port settings. Please tell me what settings I could have missed, or maybe there are screenshots of the settings?
Hey, did you find a solution?
