Welcome, I'm Susan and I love creating all sorts of items. I am blessed to be able to work as an artisan for a living. For this channel I share all of my weekend crafts and hobbies that I do. I will be showing tutorials and process videos of mixed media, mini albums, handmade cards, happy planner planning, bullet journal planning, and papercrafts of all sorts. I also have a new love for junk journals and will be sharing my process with those.

When you do a swap journal do you pay for the journal?
When you do a journal swap there is no payment. I made a journal for her and she made one for me. It is just a fun way to meet other journal makers. There are all kinds of swaps, sometimes they are smaller projects or just happy mail. This is my second journal swap and I have had great swap partners both times. This swap was through the Facebook group for My Porch Prints. I can’t remember which group my first swap was through, it was several years ago.

Your junk journal is beautiful. I love them, but have never attempted to make one because I’m not sure what I would do with it. If I made one like yours I would never want to write or glue anything in it because it’s too pretty. What do you do with yours? I love all the lace, doilies and the flower appliqué on the front cover.
Thank you so much! They are hard to write in. If I receive a journal from someone it is actually harder for me to write in it versus one I made. But I’m trying to overcome that since I know the journal maker would want me to use it. The ones I receive I just put on display and flip through occasionally. They still make me very happy without using them.🙂

What glue do you use?
I always go back and forth between art glitter glue and fabri tac. I actually prefer fabri tac when making my collages.

I really love those dies. I only have one background die and it's a rainbow sky one. I think the paper piecing is fun and I like how you can make several cards like you did without wasting paper. I especially like the one with the heart. They kind of remind of quilt making. (Which is probably why I like them.)
I love how they work for all seasons. I thought the heart would probably only be used for Valentines but I have enjoyed using it for every holiday and season so far.

I've been wanting to try this for years but wasn't sure what to use for the plastic snap on part - folded acetate would allow you to put a piece of matching paper in the center, so you don't see the underneath - BRILLIANT! I wanted to make mine silver to match a foil sentiment on my cover. It never occurred to me to double it over. But what's had me most boggled was the glue. Fabri Tac is solvent based glue - won't that eat through the acetate? I also thought I would have to put chipboard on the back side for strength because of the pulling up with the covers to remove. Does the backing paper not rip? LOVE the topper you made for your cover.. soo pretty! The lace was adorable too! Tfs
I have never had an issue using fabri tac with acetate. I am using fairly thick acetate, I am not sure if that makes a difference. I put the cardboard/chipboard in the center between the front and back to add strength. So the front and back papers are both glued to the chipboard.
