Animating with REALISTIC CAR PHYSICS
Hey! I’ve decided to start documenting my journey in creating a new short film. In this first video, I share a quick way to animate realistic car physics without spending ages on keyframing-using a Maya plugin called 'Ragdoll'. I’m setting up my shots in Maya and then rendering everything in Unreal Engine. Stick around for more updates!

Unreal Engine - Before & After | FIREFLY

Here's a peek at the early stages of Previs and the final result of the 'FIREFLY' music video. The previs was created in Autodesk Maya. Once the band and I were happy with the timing and overall direction, I refined the cameras and character animation using MoCap with Move AI and some other cool tools I'll talk about later. The final render was done in Unreal Engine and polished in DaVinci Reso...

Stunning work man🔥
did you hand animate the character or used AI or Animation data base
I mostly used Move AI for the mocap, then just some refinement in maya
@@MasteringCinematics wait so did you walk around like a little girl or does the app allow mocap from video
😅
@@MasteringCinematics Thank you for the feedback .. this will help figure how to do this for my job.
This is incredibly amazing!
Nice upload man. I love these break downs. Since we last spoke I Upgraded my PC to a 14900k to pair with my 4090. I might get a 5090 idk. also you have a 13900k so make sure you down load the Microcode update 129 for your mother board etc to safe guard your 13900k. its been a few months now and I got the hang of unreal engine now I'm currently learning Blender. So far blender is much easier to hit the ground running and get started , I remember 10 years ago learning Maya and how difficult that interface was, which XSI was a little bit easier to understand. now Blender to me is the easiest to understand idk. But I'm happy that you're still uploading and doing Animations in Maya which is the best for animations.
Hey dude, thanks! Yeah I'm also tempted to start diving into Blender, it's got so much more stuff than Maya, I feel like maya will be obsolete soon.
@@MasteringCinematics I dont think Maya will be Obsolete anytime soon because it is Best at what it does, especially animation, while Blender is a jack of all trades which is a good and a bad thing depending on who you talk to or which company you work for, etc. But like Unreal Engine 5 Blender is the new Buzzing Program, a lot of the younger kids use it, etc, and now it's gaining popularity , so much so that Cinema 4D Copied its interface. Some industry companies are starting to use Blender, But MAYA and C4D is still the industry standard
how to use iterations as sequence plz can u explain
How can I be trained? I am interested
I just released a more in depth video: czcams.com/video/-zOhJgBPJYo/video.html talks a bout my process and stuff
Great job!! Could you tell me the name of this mountain asset pack that I can't find in Unreal Marketplace?
Forgot the Exact name, but it's from Papaya Digital. It's one of the packs
Everything is really good. But the face gives me skibidi vibes😂
Yeah, it's really hard to make cg faces look right
You truly deserve millions of subscribers. I hope you'll consider creating tutorials
Thank you. I'm creating one right now
This is super inspirational work right here. Cannot wait to see what you put out in the future.
Thank you!
YOUR WORK IS DAMN GOOD !! CAN YOU SUGGEST ME THE RESOURCES FOR LEARNING THE SKIN TEXTURING I GENERALLY USE ZBRUSH AND BLENDER
I use Substance Painter, really easy to texture anything, but the Unreal Metahuman material also helped for the extra detail and realism.
@@MasteringCinematics do you do all your texturing in maya or unreal or substance painter
Mainly in Substance painter. And some material stuff in Unreal
@@MasteringCinematics Right it seems like the best way to go then dealing with UVs and doing everything the old way .
Whats Previs? And what software do you use?
Previs is just the previsualization of the work before doing the actual heavy lifting. Think of it as the outline before the drawing itself.
Yes, what @LxrdSwift said. 👍 Basically a blueprint of the final product. Maya was used for the previs and final animation. Unreal engine mainly for lighting and rendering
How on Earth do you work with a blend of both metahuman rigs and advanced skeleton in Maya! Could you point in a general direction of your approach? Never found anything that Marie’s these two.
There's a setting in Advanced skeleton to automatically rig metahumans. I believe there's a tutorial in their channel on how to do that. It's basically a generic rig that the Metahuman joints are constrained to. When you are done animating in maya, you just export the joints and the mesh (ignoring the rig)
@@MasteringCinematics Hey, thanks, figured it out finally. Anyway, it's criminal that you don't have more subs, your work is amazing!
Thanks man! Now I'm starting to focus more on youtube. So hopefully I can grow this channel fast. 🤞
Very nice short. I am just getting into Unreal and would love to see a full walkthrough on your workflow
Thanks! I'll be posting one maybe next week
How many hours would you estimate it took to create this? 100? 300?
You mean the Girl or the whole video? The whole video took about 6 months, sometimes working full time, sometimes part time.
@@MasteringCinematicshow many hours then? 500?
u should let us know all this tricks tooo
tutorials bro plzzzzzzzzzz
Haha, yes I'm trying to upload some really soon
@@MasteringCinematics thanksss
WOW, I'm a student trying to learn all of these things, and I know how much work is behind everything. I hope you can work in future Netflix series like "Love Death & Robots" - amazing work! Can I just ask, how long did it all take? Were the particles in the video clip made with Niagara, or did you use Houdini/EmberGen? Thanks for giving me the right inspiration for the day <3
Yes! That'd be so cool to work on a short for LDR. The whole thing took about 6 months. And for the particles I used the old Cascade system (don't ask 😁), but worked pretty well for what I wanted. Thank you!
What 💀💀🙆🏿♂️
Wil you have a full tutorial on the cable cluster setup and blinking lights in unreal? that was unbelievable
Thanks man! Yeah I should probably do something explaining all that stuff. The cables were animated using a maya Ragdoll plugin.
@@MasteringCinematics ready for your master class in unreal! Trying to soak all the knowledge you can give lol
So you exported the Metahuman into Maya and then modelled around it with the rigged? So that you can reimport the asset back into unreal without having to reconnect the rig all over again?
Yeah kinda, the head is a pain to re-rig, so I just modified its textures. The body though is much easier to modify and reskin later on.
UNREAL ENGINE BLOWING UP EVERYTIME
OMG🤩🤩 amazing.... im new to 3D field.. im just curious to know how you did that emission map animating
Thanks! It's just a simple animated noise, increasing and decreasing the emission values of the LED material.
Massive effort! Well done!
Woah!!
This is the best Unreal cinematic video I've ever seen, keep it up plz🔥
Thank you!
Brilliant!! Congratulations.
how many years of experience do u have
Don't!, you are making me feel old 😶
how you model the head? you use a scan or sculpt it? is amazing
Thanks! It was a scanned mesh
@@MasteringCinematics wow there is an app for it? i really want to try it too hahah
Yeah not sure what they used for it, I just received the mesh from the band. They took a series of pictures around the singer's face to create it, and cleaned the mesh up in Blender.
At this rate, you are going to get way more than a thousand subscribers. This is the first of your videos I've ever seen. Excellent work.
Thank you!
Brilliant work.
Beautiful!
Your tutorial on the metahuman facial rig controls was very helpful on this. Thank you!
This is perfection!!!🙏👍❤️

Super creative
ughh insane
@Gaamer_93, tem um plugin: Speak Subtitles for CZcams, você estala e tem o áudio traduzido para português.. Quando é material em inglês, uso ele para assistir aos vídeos
Ughh thanks!
Top notch 🫡🔥🔥 Just wanted to know how you manage to get those ropes react with his head and hand movements
Thanks, I used a Ragdoll plugin for Maya. I'll make a video about it soon
Bro can u make a video on how to add existing fx effects on animation sequence, like ue5. 4 free july has recently launched free asstes that includes vfx pack but i am unable tonuse it in animation sequence, i knw i need to add anime montage and after that, need to add effects in bt facing some issue woth dragons, if u can share how to use the fragon and flamethrower together??
Maybe this can help? czcams.com/video/wFhZxRJZN8E/video.htmlsi=RM1Nu2cLjleeTU2X
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
impressed!
😍😍
I'm in awe. The attention to detail 🤌🏾
Do you export your unreal scenes to maya? How would I go about that, looks pretty smooth in the maya viewport
USD export
I don't export the whole scene, just the essential geo to help me animate in Maya. If you have Nanite activated, it'll automatically export a low proxy version of it.
@@MasteringCinematics thank you very much
@@yizhao3732 I'd rather avoid using usd with unreal as it is very prone to crashing at least the last time I used it with Houdini and ue 5.4
amazzzinggg...excellenttt work....😯😯🔥🔥🔥
amazing! excellent work
thats so cool.
just: wow!
I love your behind the scenes videos man, you are a great 3D generalist, I would love to learn from you if you ever consider making tutorial videos. I'm a senior 3D Animator but struggle to do the other processes like modeling, texturing, lighting rendering etc. Would love to know how to do all these and make some awesome cinematics like you one day :)
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. Yeah it is a bit of a challenge learning all the other fields, but with dedication and patience it's definitely possible. Do you post your animations online, I'd love to check them out.

how did you do the animation , is it done in maya or unreal , is it keyframe of motion capture
Its mostly moCap, cleaned up and polished in Maya. Then exported into Unreal
@@MasteringCinematics thank you , it's beautiful work:D
