United States
Registrace 28. 06. 2020
What’s it like to hike and live in the backcountry for 5 months? Host and thru-hiker Kyle O’Grady (aka Kyle Hates Hiking), who has completed every last step of the Appalachian Trail, interviews other thru-hikers, peak-baggers, and backpackers who are almost as crazy as him. Is life while thru-hiking really as glamorous as the social media stars make it out to be? Is pooping in the woods really that big of a deal? Find out these answers and more on Trail Tales.

These clowns have no issue using a corporation in the u.s. though. Amazon is one of the most oppressive companies in the world and not a single bit of outrage is heard.

Love @Sintax77 🤩
National Park service Is so hard to work with that they make it not worth going to National Park. It is sad but I stay away from National Park because of stuff like this, All the rules, and the cost. It just not work the risk of going to the parks.
Alright 4:00 in and I still don't know what he did... Wasn't 5 stars? Get to the point. .. I'm out.
kyle was on point man, if your not comfortable enough with your sexuality you probably cant pull of the fanny pack. i love mine XD no ffs given. and its not filled with joints unfortunatley
I randomly found your channel recently and I just want to say, seeing you talk about your own experience and life ,you seem like a really good person, a genuine caring partner and a great storyteller. I’m glad your girlfriend is ok and also it’s really nice to hear how you took care of her. You deserve more viewers.
Hey Kyle, what are your plans for finishing the PCT. Love your videos...
Taylor, I watched all your videos from your first through hike and was a little put off by your seemingly haughty attitude so thanks for talking about where it might have come from.
You have inspired me to think about getting a Garmin, I live in Washington DC and do a lot of short hikes in the area. Like your story tells, an easy walk in the woods can turn hazardous when you are least expecting it.
Have Luke on more. Great guest.
What you did wrong was you got a permit to stay in a specific campground and then did not stay there you should have never even got a permit in the first place it's a national forest go hiking
We have WAY too many park rangers … and they have literally nothing to do. So they screw with people. This is yet another example of park rangers and prosecutors being complete dicks. Unbelievable
I’d be willing to bet if the millions of illegal aliens moved into the national parks they’d let them camp wherever they pleased, hell they’d probably buy them the best tents and give them 10 grand spending money.
Reason #1246 why I freakin hate government - all governments!
He was doing a highly professional video production PROMOTING responsible use of this beautiful national park. Instead, because of the system, THEY (ranger, prosecutor, and judge) have caused a situation that has TARNISHED the national park and justice systems. Shame on them!
No way! our government causing people unnecessary harm? no…. Think about the 10s of thousands of peoples lives they have ruined for no good reason, with no positive impact whatsoever on society. The criminal record should be expunged.
I always wear a hip bag aka a fanny pack so in case i get separated from backpack at least I’m not up shit creek without a paddle if backpack goes missing
This guy Hunter is one of your best guests, I’d love to see him on some more.
Yall should check out bone conduction headphones. You can fully hear your surroundings while also listening to what you want to. For perspective, I went on a ton of walks around my neighborhood this spring, listening to podcasts and symphonies, and even having whatever I was listening to at a high volume, I could still hear the swarms of bees buzzing in the flowering trees from over half a city block away. I can hear anyone else on the road with me. And the model I got also happen to be waterproof so I can swim and shower in them lol They're really not that much more expensive than other decent earbuds or high-ish end headphone, I got mine on sale for $100.
I watched the video way back when you did the hike. I agree with Eric that is was an impressive video packed with intense good lessons and also portrayed the rangers and hospital in a good light. It was comforting to know that people are out for our best interest. Dang what a let down to hear what happened after and taking such a stressful unjust turn. I miss the days when humanity and logic came first.
he abused kids on those damn hikes
Go bring proof
Just finished the PC t and every single park ranger I met was such a jerk It feels Like they hate people visiting their park.
For the trekking pole strap thing, the way Kyle does it is the way you are supposed to do it. I honestly didn't think people thought there was a different/better way, because there isn't. All you have to do is go to the websites of all the companies that make trekking poles or even just trekking pole straps and they all say to bring your hand up through the loop and then the straps sit between your thumb and fingers as you grab the pole. This tightens the straps so it is snug against your wrist, giving you much more leverage and keeping your hand muscles from getting tired from gripping the pole tightly, It is also safer than looping your hand directly through the strap from above, because when you release the strap during a fall, the pole falls away allowing your hands to impact the ground freely. If your hand is through the top and you release the pole, there is a good chance that the strap will get caught in your hand somewhere meaning the pole will be between your hand/fingers as you fall, potentially causing broken bones or sprains.
There is a distinct difference between ultralight backpacking and just not bringing stuff lol. Item for item, if you want to bring the same stuff, ultralight gear is much more expensive and/or much less durable/less comfortable.
That's a great point and one I think is missed by a lot of newer folks trying to figure out how to go lighter. Being a kitchen sink packer myself, I really struggled with this one and still have difficulty with some stuff, particularly my admittedly ridiculous FAK. You can certainly shave several pounds switching to the lighter gear, but if you're starting from a 40lb base weight, it's not going to make much difference just going for lighter gear. First step is to figure out what you can stop packing in the first place. I think the final transition to UL and SUL is deciding how much suck you're willing to embrace.
Were the prosecutors that bored and that lacking of work that they pursued this nonsense?!? Ridiculous. Yet you could go loot a store, steal a ton of stuff, and be let go.
Houses cr
Horses create trail damage, so limiting fragile trails is reasonable. Limiting the number of horses per year on a trail is another management tool. Horses have a role for trail maintenance and search and rescue.
That gas station is only a few hundred yards from the trailhead...not over a mile.
So was it a heart attack or…?
I was at Zion NP a few months ago and only like 2% of the hikers I saw using rental hiking poles were using the straps correctly. It was crazy to me that the rental companies wouldn't show folks how to use them.
As far as poles and the straps. I do the same type of strap thing for both hiking and skiing. I agree that you get a lot more leverage. It works for skiing very well and is what is recommended by the ski school teacher I went to years ago. I could be wrong, but I agree that it creates leverage you would not get otherwise. You are not going to break your wrist. It is impossible to unless you are going to break your wrest anyway. It won't be the straps.
🎉🎉🎉Apply to have the criminal record expunged. Yes, there is a fee involved, but under the circumstances I think you can get it expunged.
Sounds like they didn’t want you to post anything that shows you guys camping in an undesignated spot and implying that the rangers allowed it to prevent hundreds of thousands or maybe millions (not sure how many viewers he typically has) of camping enthusiast who watch his videos to think that maybe they could get away with camping in an undesignated spot and to also show that if you do camp in an undesignated spot this is what will happen to you, so idk clearly that’s what the whole make an example out of you was all about yeah it’s bullshit but it’s pretty obvious what their intentions were
We haven’t been a republic since 1963
It's not because of your blue eyes. It's probably does your diet it causes your problems with the Sun? I have blue eyes. I don't have any problems. There's a lot of research about wearing sunglasses that it causes you to actually get sunburned because you're not exposing your eyes to the Sun. Maybe you have that problem with your eyes because you wear sunglasses a lot
