That makes total sense to me. I was in an abusive relationship and the reason he could hurt me so much was because of old wounds getting triggered. Seems only natural that it developed into ptsd after the relationship. The relationship in itself was damaging but oh boy it was the old wound that he was stabbing in.

I think it’s much higher than 20%. I’m not sure how they’re testing soldiers for that. Soldiers are notorious about lying about their mental health so they don’t get kicked out, seen as a coward, or lose benefits… and the “professionals“ that are testing them I have heard nothing but horror stories about their credentials and capabilities. And as far as the general public goes… Much more than 20% had traumatic childhoods. I’m gonna say at least half of us.

  • @RobertaFierro-mc1ub

Stay far away from anyone who brings you down in any way. When you see them coming, avoid them if you can. They'll get the message. I want to.say one more thing. Many women, including myself, have hormonal imbalances. Ive noticed that Health Professionals never asked me about my hormones. Depression and anxiety for women can be addressed with the proper bloodwork. Accupuncture helped me immensely as well.

I wish I had someone like Maté in my family, he seems like such a fountain of warmth and empathy - a safe place where one might retreat when feeling overwhelmed. As a Muslim revert I was so touched when he spoke of leaving Zionism; he evidently desired a homeland but purged this yearning for the sake of the Palestinian people when he realised it was at their expense - there will always be a special place in my heart for him because of that. May Allah guide him. ♥️

When is humanity going to take responsibility for continuing to create circumstances that perpetuate trauma...be it in childhood or adulthood??? I can't believe the interviewer's question?! PTSD used to be called "Shell Shock" when young men came out of the WW's... Then, similar reactions were noticed in response to other situations (motor vehicle accidents, illness, divorce, job loss, and nnot just experiencing a traumatic event but witnessing it) 911, Palestine, Gaza, Ukraine, Bosnia, Libya, Irak... So many more children & adults being exposed to & experiencing tragic & atrocious events And humanity continues to watch it on media...which also can traumatize people at any age ...causing nightmares & more As for the stats, it's dependant upon how many report their symptoms. Most people do their best to override inner turmoil. Hence, the numbers are much higher. PTSD is basically a normal response to abnormal events.

I think sometimes people really do feel lonely, or sad, or depressed because of those things. Usually when things changes, then the depression should lift. But if it doesn't lift, something else may be wrong, or, if you normally aren't depressed and suddenly you are extremely depressed and sad, what just recently happened that caused that? Sometimes I believe that it's actual stressors of life. But, sometimes it is spiritual attack I believe it now. I didn't believe it yesterday but I do believe it now, that there is such a thing as spiritual attack. But it's important to know that loneliness is fixable. You go to a nice place with nice people and make friends, or do something kind for someone else. It really does help. Also work on a hobby like get a idea for a novel, or a new plant, or spend time with your dogs. It's hard when we are depressed but whatever you do, don't go back to bed. If anyone does want to talk they can. I am no expert but I know what it's like to feel unheard. And truly remember your blessings ❣️

Mate is saying there is a lot of stuff out there to assist you .. changing the habits, thinking , taking a walk , getting to the bottom within needs the change without.. "cold shower" .. the physical does change the mental . Asking yourself where is it coming from.? . loneliness? A break up . ,? A lack of self worth? You tube does have good stuff .. there is stuff out there that does not cost an arm and a leg rather than getting a crutch or addiction .. friends, family , gyms , yes books .. the tree , the sky .. the sea . A walk. A smile .. etc etc... there is so much the social media is in control of. Understanding is about change ..

I spend so much time alone that it hurts, but my friends disrespected me, i forgave them, then forgave again, they kept acting the same way, i didn't want to ditch them because id be alone, well, now i did, and they'll never have the balls i have, i have spent countless days and years basically alone, even when i was friends with them i wasn't invited out anywhere with them. My own family never meet up, its always a mention of a possible bbq, never happens. When i was a kid, we always got together, cousins, aunts, unlces, out for dinner, party at my uncles house, constantly meeting up. And my dads family are huge, 10 of them. My mothers family are the same, no communication. Isn't that pathetic??. It just annoys me so much, and then when you do meet up with them, you realise why it rarely happens, because people don't really like each other. So what do we do?, we just sit in our little boxes. My dads family text on watsapp, when my aunt and uncle are only an hour away and we haven't met up since 2018!, like what is going on?? In my opinion, any family, should meet at least twice per year. Some families gather at their grandparents every sunday!, not mine. i like my own time, but i wish i had people to chat with and have fun with, horrible when you're 33 and its felt like my lifes been over since i reached 20.

The problem is these are all just coping mechanisms. They don’t actually cure the problem with these processes. It could take many years to finally identify what is really the core of the issue and then do the mental work to change your perspective or state of mind based on whatever it was, that is the original cause. Most people check out before they ever get to this point. They really need face-to-face interaction and support from people they can deeply connect with.
