That was a long fight.
Those black fangs are bad news
cool gameplay
Nice work mate!
I was waiting for this lol
Thanks, I have almost played through the entire campaign. Just one more scenario to go.
Thanks I really enjoy your videos and look forward to them each week
Thanks, I am enjoying the black fang expansion a lot.
Simply Amazing,!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Great video, will use this scheme for my nemesis intruders! Thank you!
Hello, amazing strawberries. I am going to try to follow your example. May I ask, the PH, and EC levels you are using and the watering times. I see everything from 15 minutes every 2 hours to 15-20 minutes 4 to 6 hours. Thank you!
Wow … you are so much better at painting than me! 😂 Where do you get your bases? I like those! Also, you have a caddy for a lot of your tokens … is that something you printed? Thanks, great video!
Thanks! I enjoy the painting part of the hobby. The bases are clear acrylic I got from LITKO but I am sure you can find them cheaper other places. I bought a couple of the caddies, but printed the rest.
@@WarhammerDad Thanks!
Enjoying your adventures, buddy...might consider making yourself a dice corral for rolling...it didn't help my dice rolling, but it's thematic :D
I do have a couple of dice trays and a tower that came with my table but never thought of a western themed tray. That is a good idea.
put together a quick one and 3 d printed it. It does fit the theme.
I'm curious where you're located?

The flesh stalker looks amazing. Did you use any fluorescent paints for the eyes?
I painted them white and then used a fluorescent green thinned down to a glaze consistency
Did you get the loot for the last encounter. ? Also I scavage more often not sure if that’s a good strategy or not
Me either, sometimes it seems savaging does more harm than good.
Yes it’s very good
Don't worry about making mistakes. This game is incredibly fiddly and there's a ton of stuff to remember. The most important thing is that you had fun. :)
Impressive collection. I have the 4 core boxes and 6 or so expansions. I went for clear bases as well.
Yes, I really like the clear bases. I usually base my models but for this game the clear just seems to work.
Hello, I just subscribed to your channel as was looking for shadows of brimstones gameplay and found video. Keep these coming, I just got into this game and already order too much for it.

These two are doing pretty well, all things considered. They seem to have a good bit of firepower, and can handle most things that come up. I've got a question about the Bandido. When you dual wield with two guns the rules say that you may not get critical hits for either of the two weapons, and also that for the off hand weapon the to hit roll needs to be one higher (so a 4+ becomes a 5+, for example). The Twin Guns ability for the Bandido then says that you may fire two one handed guns with no penalty for the off hand gun. Does that mean you can now get critical hits and you only need 4+ to hit, or does it just cancel the 5+ to hit for the off hand gun? I tried to look up the answer, but haven't found anything definite. Like you, I assumed you can now get crits with both guns, and that is how I've played my Bandido so far.
I read it like you that you no longer have a penalty for duel wielding. The hitting on a 4+ was an error I talk about at the beginning of the next video.
Maybe I'm just over thinking it, but there are two penalties for dual wielding - one affects both guns (no crits), and one only affects the off hand gun (4+ becomes 5+). Then Twin Guns says "no penalty for the off hand gun", as if it only affects the second thing (4+ becoming 5+). I hope you are right, as I've got a level 3 Bandido, and have always presumed he can get crits.
@@phildevey6302 I see what you mean. I read it as no penalty for having the off hand gun vs no penalty for the off hand gun in use. I honestly never thought of it the second way until now...hmmm will have to think about it but for now I will keep with the crits. The game is hard enough and fairly well balanced with the crits.
I just looked at the specific card for the bandido's starting ability and it says "may fire two guns per turn ignoring the penalty for dual wielding." To me I still read that as ignoring both penalties. BUT-It says specifically the penalty for dual wielding is not getting critical hits and then states in addition the offhand weapon hits on one higher (paraphrase). So if anything it would seem that you would get crits but still only hit on one higher with the offhand weapon. It sounds like both are penalties and the card says ignore the penalty. But as written there is an argument to maintain the off hand higher die roll requirement.
The wording on my card for the Bandido is slightly different, but I have the 1st Edition, and I think yours is the Revised Edition. Your wording is better, and I think it means ignore both penalties for dual wielding, so that's what I'm going to do. I think that is the way to go. I didn't mean to cause a problem, I just wasn't sure what it meant, and wanted to get it straight in my own mind. Good luck for the rest of this mission, hope it goes well.
Thanks for the update :) What are the size of the clear bases you use on Shadows of Brimstone?
I use LITKO clear bases. Mostly 25mm which are about $16/100. I used 40s and 60s on some of the bigger models but the majority were 25s. I think you can get the clear bases cheaper other places, but I had already picked up the LITKO and I got them during a sale.
Nice headway on the assembly and painting, buddy....and awesome results....have several kickstarters worth of models still on sprues, but, still looking forward in getting them on the hobby desk one day...enjoy both your hobby updates and solo game plays...thanks for the vids....Jim

Always great looking paint! The only set I've painted so far are the Forbidden Fortress minis, speed paint worked out well for me and took about a week last summer when I was on a vacation. Looking forward to more of your vids.
Thanks, really enjoying SOB and learning the nuances of using speed paint. It is definitely faster, but has it's own challenges.

Beast Hunter's Rifle is a great find when hunting Werewolves!
It definitely comes in handy later in the campaign
You didn't watch the 20+ hours of youtube videos to know the entry-level lore? They look great.
LOL-I needed that! But no, not really interested in the game enough and never played the video game, but my son is a fan and I picked up up on sale, cheap, so went for it.
I really like them, I’m sure your son will love them
Thanks, they were actually pretty fun to paint.
Always great looking minis and fun adventure!
Thanks, still having fun and started a new campaign with the lawman and bandido a few weeks ago and just getting around to editing.
What a struggle that was at the end! They survived, but barely. A couple of observations - threat cards from an Epic threat in an otherworld should be otherworld threat cards, and also the ambush card as well. I don't think it would have made a lot of difference, but maybe a different selection of enemies. Secondly you can cancel a growing dread card before or after it is revealed (but before it takes effect), if each hero uses 1 grit, but it has to be each one, so it is no good if one hero is out of grit. Looking forward to the next one.
I always forget about cancelling dread cards, I even have an item or two that can cancel darkness cards but forget. As for the Epic threats, page 35 of the rule book says to use normal epic threat cards even in Other worlds and there is no epic level on the other world cards...though you are right, it can lead to odd and out of place fights sometimes. I need to figure a way to convert the high threat to epic on the otherworld cards or maybe just use the high, at least when there are two heroes anyway. Thanks for the tips, they have proven quite useful.
It's easy to forget about cancelling the growing dread cards, but it can be useful, especially near the end of an adventure when you don't want the darkness to move 2 spaces, or take a load of horror hits, or something like that. All the heroes have to have a grit as well, which isn't always easy. As for the Epic threats, the rule on p35 says this at the end - "Normal Epic Threats are used for Other Worlds as well, but any additional Threat cards they have you draw should be from the OtherWorld Threat cards". So I believe the way to think about it is that low / medium / high / epic threat cards exist in the mines, but only epic / otherworld threat cards exist in an otherworld, and the otherworld cards have those three sections to represent low / medium / high. I'm not trying to nit pick about the rules all the time, it's just that when you are watching you notice some things, and it is much easier watching someone else compared to playing yourself. I forget things, and get plenty of things wrong when I play, I think everyone does. One other thing I wanted to say was that in town there is a useful item you can buy at the blacksmiths called a Tomb Chest. This allows a hero to carry dark stone without rolling for corruption, and it can't be stolen either.
@@phildevey6302 NO! nitpick away...so many rules, so many worlds...I really do appreciate the thought and presentation of your comments. Never offended and happy to learn more about the game, none of us get it all right and the mistakes don't diminish the fun.
Those Shikarri Nomad Crusaders are very tricky, and they have a lot of rules. They do extra damage based on Dark Stone or Dark Stone Icons carried by a hero (Seek & Destroy), not sure if that made any difference? They also have Armour 4+ as well as a defence of 3, making them quite hard to hit. They do a lot of damage with the snap fire ability, overall they are just difficult. My lone Drifter was ambushed by 4 of them the other day, and after a few rounds he had to give up and flee from the mine. If it ever comes up again in the future, the campsite in town is an actual location, and has a Church Tent and a Doc's Tent (Frontier Town Rulebook, p4).
I was not tracking...i just dismissed the campsite as a trap to avoid...I should look at that more. I do vaguely remember reading it but kind of glossed over it since I didn't plan on using it-live and learn I guess...and yeah, would have come in handy after the next adventure too....but kind of like having them with all the wounds and mutations for now, though it does cause trouble.
Doesn't the Marshal have a shotgun that rolls a d8 to hit and damage?
He does, but with the hunting knife they found, in close combat having two dice and a reroll seemed more effective...at least until he gets a better shotgun.
@@WarhammerDad Ah, math! Good call!
Thank you I enjoy this
thanks, I am having a blast playing
Just fyi when you roll for darkstone corruption at the very beginning you still get to roll santiy defense against that corruption hit.
can't believe I missed that...ah well...I have missed worse.
Another good episode - you did well to get rid of that Grand Shaman with 30 life! I think the rules for threat cards in this instance are a bit confusing. They say Epic threats should be replaced by High threats, unless you choose to face an Epic threat to make it interesting. Also the Heroes are in an Otherworld here, so threat cards should be from that Otherworld, not normal threat cards. I think you made it a bit harder on your heroes than it could have been, but they still came out on top in the end. At the end I don't think you did a Catch Your Breath, so they might have had a couple of extra Loot cards.
I thought of the epic threat issue, but otherworld threat cards don't have an epic level which would solve the issue of where the enemies come from. I agree, with two heroes you could pick a high threat, but sometimes it is nice to play something different...but yeah, it does make loosing more likely...but hopefully in a thematic and spectacular fashion :)
You chose the more adventurous route, and it worked out well. One thing I have noticed is that you don't seem to use dynamite much. It is very good at clearing out enemies with a reasonable defence and low toughness, like the Hungry Dead, and you can use it even when adjacent to enemies. It can clear out multiple enemies really quickly sometimes, and I try to get a Hero with grit to throw it, so you get a second chance at hitting the target square. It can bounce around a bit, and be annoying. The first time you take out 4 or 5 enemies in one go is a revelation, and from then on dynamite is a firm favourite.
Yeah, I played a game last night and had a blast but forgot dynamite (even had some) when 9 hungry dead were dropped on me.
It would have been great for that exact scenario. My motto is buy lots of dynamite in town, use it as often as you can, you won't regret it.
Great paintwork, enjoy the Darksouls.
Thanks, I never played the video game but my son was excited for the boardgame.
Really enjoying these adventures, thank you for making them. This one went surprisingly well, even Holding Back the Darkness wasn't too bad for once! I think your Saloon Girl does need to take a mutation roll because the rules say that when the number of corruption points equals their corruption resistance they mutate. So if she has a resistance value of 7, and gets 7 points of corruption, she needs to roll for a mutation. She could take up to 6 points without any problems.
That was how I read it as well, but then when I read the FAQ on page 7 it states that the corruption resistance is how many points a character can carry before having to trade them in. Which makes it sound like you can carry that number. After going back and reading both again, I agree with you. I have already played the next two games, so will have to wait two more adventure before the change.
I don't think the FAQ helps much in this case, but I do think the original rule is correct - with a resistance of 5 you can take 4 points without any trouble. There will always be inconsistencies with the rules in Shadows of Brimstone, and personal interpretations. With the rulebook, the FAQ, all the abilities of a Hero, and all the items they acquire, there is so much going on. When I play, I always forget a few things, or get them wrong, and I fix it if possible, or just forget it if it is too many turns ago. Looking forward to seeing the next ones!
@@phildevey6302 Agree 1000%
Fun episode and nice paint work on the minis.
Thanks, I am having a blast, getting my minis painted and have just started a second campaign with two new heroes. I will try and get them posted in the next couple of weeks.
Interesting that the Saloon girl is the one that does the most damage, in my experience the marshal is really good. You should probably look at buying some better weapons for him in town, there's some good shotguns at the general store, blacksmith and sheriff's office, they are expensive though. Btw you can get rid of parasistes in town at the street market.
I think it has more to do with my terrible rolling 😀 but he does get a better gun...just need to get it posted.
Thank you looking forward to next adventure

Thanks for the simple and no bs magnetizing video! It got you a sun from me brother!
Awesome video, dude. Very helpful. Thank you!
This looks wonderful. Can't believe I'm just now hearing about it.
Slashers heads look like the insects in the old Sci Fi movie From Earth to the Moon...I think one of Ray Harryhausen special effects...
The old Jules Verne one? I haven't seen that since I was a kid. I am going to have to go back and watch it again.
Thanks for putting this up. I snagged pack B1 for about $10. Definitely agree on the price point. I will pick these up as they go on sale at DriveThru RPG. Is there a recommended order for picking them up?
I am not aware of one. I tended to buy one or two when they would go on sale and kept a list of what I had (accidentally got a second pack of one which ended up a stocking stuffer for my son). I have it in my head that powercell was bought by Steven Jackson Games recently but could be thinking of a different company.
Truly great review! Thank you for it. A couple of questions: 1. You've mentioned a mitigation few times and you've mentioned the fire few times but never together. Is there really no way whatsoever to manage the expanding fire or control it somehow?? - It sounds like a crucial element of the game is determined by luck of the roll while there's nothing to do about it. You can try "speeding" up the rooms exploration and yet die of a fire at the end. 2. Despite this specific lack of information about the fire mechanic, that was an awesome detailed review. I wish you were doing much more reviews. Are you still playing board gamed? Why not reviewing them? Thank you.
Thanks, and I have been on Hiatus but am getting back into board games now :)
Really useful, thanks! I came up with a couple of shortcuts for lazy people 😂 Instead of magnetising the burst cannon you can just not use the targeting array. For the bomber move the missile pod to the front slot and reuse the top cover from the fighter. Or, now that the drones dont have any rules, use the quad ion on the front to represent the drone's two twin ion rifles. Which then also saves having to make the custom drones.
Thanks and good thoughts. I will relay them to my son who's Army this is for.
Ive been growing the lettuce seeds that come with my iharvest and Ive had plenty to go around. My son has requested strawberries (something he'll eat) for next time so I hope mine do as well as yours! Your plants look beautiful!
