the plug is 18v i think so would the car batery just melt?
You two are wonderful ❤
Didn't you buy your old house from Heidi's grandparents or their estate? Weren't you doing CZcams and working on small engines in your garage? I seem to remember you all owning a couple of old campers early on. You worked hard fixing them up and selling at a proffit? You weren't driving late model cars at that time either? When you bought the new travel trailer and 1st new truck, I thought Heidi took some of her retirement money and proceeds from your old house to pay them off? You guys didn't have big monthly payments, like a HUGE mortgage or car payments like a lot of folks have now. You guys have done well for yourselves! Heidi works her butt off. Be happy, and just calm down for a little while. Your house now is totally liveable with more room than you had at your old house. Wait to see what happens with interest rates next year.
0% financing is out there. Right now the Nissan Rogue and the Ford Edge as well as a bunch of EVs have 0% financing.
Although I'm a Ford fan I would never long-term purchase a Ford Edge. As a matter of fact I don't think that there's too many vehicles that I would long-term purchase. With exceptions of pickup trucks. The only way we would do Ev is if they were hybrids.. and when we went to Toyota 2 months ago their choice of financing was not very enticing at all
General opinions, not really accurate. Buy a more capable tow vehicle. Look how RV transporters tow.
99% of the Transporters are not using weight distribution systems. So I'm not sure how I would refer to them using airbags as an example of successful use
@@Rvdaydream exactly, and they carry significant weight in the bed of their truck. If an RVer has payload in the vehicle ie passengers & cargo in the rear air bags compensate for that which is different than hitch weight. Problem with the wdh vs air bag videod is they use a empty truck. You don't want to transfer cargo weight to trailer tongue.
Weight distribution is to be used to level out and reapply the additional weight off of the rear axle and back to the front of the vehicle and to the trailer appropriately once that has been completed additional weight could be added in the bed of the truck but the airbag use will defeat the purpose of the weight distribution hitch and then reapply weight back to the rear axle and take it away from the front of the vehicle and the trailer. Of course, the other way of doing it is loading up the truck with cargo and people then use the airbags lightly to level out any slight squat that may have occurred doing so. Then whenever the trailer is hitched whatever is lost off of the front axle and trailer axles can then be reapplied using the weight distribution hitch but pay attention to the words that I'm using "slight squat" and the "light airbag" use. The airbag should never have to exceed over 20 lb of air pressure to accomplish the initial leveling of the loaded vehicle if WD is to be used... the original statement of buying a more capable to vehicle is 100% accurate. The issue is F-150 and 1500 owners hitching up a tongue weight of 1100 lb and then using weight distribution to level as much as possible but when that is not successful they turn to airbags or some sort of Bump Stop add on to level the truck. Overloading the rear axle and unloading the front axle.
Great video! Thank you! If I was still looking for a good internet option this sounds great, however Ive been using Homefi's portable router in my RV for the past two years and its worked perfectly for all my streaming services and for my remote work as well. I really recommend this as another option!
You have to choose what works for you however, I couldn't recommend Homefi. There's a number of reasons why. The router design is not utilitarian design as it is more geared towards Aesthetics and user-friendliness. It does not have the ability for an external antenna(like Weboost) to be mounted for remote locations. The internal broadcast ability is hindered by the fact that it has no external broadcast antennas instead relies upon something much smaller internally. Which does cause the ability for our personal devices and laptops to not connect at a good enough signal to potentially take advantage of the full speed that is being offered by the cell company. For example, we could run our EZCOM unit in the RV during our traveling and when we drove through locations that our T-Mobile cell phones would not pick up our EZCOM router would supply internet using AT&T even though we were inside the truck driving down the road. And for $139 monthly, although generously offering 800 gigabytes for that dollar amount still is not as good as unlimited as a lot of CZcamsrs and people that use the device constantly for watching and streaming on a regular basis would exceed 1 terabyte. Finally, not having to pick just one carrier and hope that the area in which you travel in is serviced by that choice the EZCOM quad band offers four different carriers that the device will choose based on which one is strongest to the area in which you travel at no additional cost. It's like having four different hotspots from four different carriers.
Hmmmm the specs show a 2amp charger....
My unit came with a 3 amp charger. Could be that they've misprinted the site or it's possible that they have changed what they're offering. Good news is, if they did revert back to a 2 Amp being supplied with the bike a 3 amp can always be purchased separately
I have ordered their new F3 bike....expecting it in about 4 weeks
At the time that I am typing this, I haven't done a bike review and probably a couple months and it's because there is some sort of backlog with shipments. I've got other arrangements for reviews that have been on the back burner with the manufacturers for over 2 months because they can't get their new product to me yet. I guess it's a thing
What a great instruction video! Building mine this weekend ... all the best from the UK 🇬🇧 👍🏻
And no the new ones dont have mag rims or turn signals just a flashing brake light still a great bike for price not a huge deal
I just finished my second week of living full time in my keystone 2014 30 foot trailer and I had Grat tank stink in the heat of New Mexico Desert, I put the new air valve on under the sink and day one, it took care of the gray tank smell...it was 24 dollars on amazon..perfect fix.
Just do you know, i saw yellow dust on your coils and THAT is a sign of ammonia leaking. I almost died in my fifth wheel from exposure to an ammonia leak.PLEASE have your checked & checked often. Tell tale signs are a yellow to yellow green looking dust. Careful touching it as it is pousionous to skin contacFOR THAT REASON I NOW OWN A RESIDENTIAL AC FRIDGE. GOD BLESS YOU & YOURS
Thanks for the heads up but the RV was Less Than 3 months old at the time that I shot the video so I don't think anything was leaking out but instead we had a ton of pollen we were washing the truck every other day at the car wash until we realized we could use our California duster to accomplish the same result
Thank you for the review. This will be my choice for my wife and I. You know what I don’t understand about men in our country, and it explains why they always chose black or drab grey. Why do you and so many others feel that a nice bright color is girly? Paranoia runs deep with men. Scared of their piers comments. Weaker than women.
We like watching your videos. In one of the videos I seen a dishwasher in your sink. Do you guys like it? And where did you purchase it at if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks
We totally love it.. It's awesome for 2-3 ppl.. Here's the link amzn.to/3Wk86pt
Thank you so much for the information. Did you install it yourself?
Just buy a 5th wheel amd not have to fool with that stuff.
Drying isn't the problem. We need a small easily stored washer.
Great video, most of it was pretty self explanatory just from looking at it, but was good to have someone confirm my sanity as I assembled it (especially since no instructions were included in box). I will say though that putting the front wheel on became much easier when I flipped the bike over and stood it on its seat and handlebars, then putting on the front wheel and lining everything up was very easy. Thanks again for the video.
I just ordered a filter system and a softner and tried to use your discount code but the Blu site would not take it. What's up with that?
Whew! Had to restructure discount code... Try it again using the same code Rvdaydream001
I have this bike and am looking at getting another e bike. Looking at the Aipas, any recommendations from Aipas? Have you demonstrated the specialty E-bike ?
I showed Aipas assembly videos.. Check Playlist
@Rvdaydream I'm sorry I thought your videos were you riding them around your neighborhood too
When we do these reviews we are at the mercy of what the manufacturers are asking for and in this case they ask for us to do a ride around the block however on the Aipas, they wanted an assembly video only. The reason being is they wanted a video that they could put on their website so a customer could know how that bike is assembled from beginning to end. They already had other reviewers and their own people riding the bikes in videos so that's all they asked from us
@Rvdaydream So what were your thoughts on the Velotric Discover 2 and the Aipas models 🤔 I have the Discover 2, but I am looking for another E-bike
@rmarrow19 velotric is better quality... Aipas is better value for the money
I just got this fridge plus the battery. I use it in my kitchen and can roll it anywhere in my apartment. Tests have shown the battery lasts 18 hours in echo mode. This is a great unit for me !
How much does it weigh?
Check link in description... If I remember correctly With the single it was around mid 60lb range..
I'd get up at 3am riding around town working off Nam issues. I notice a lot of pack sag totting people walking in and out of neighborhoods until I had coffee with the Cops to let them know...often I later say them searching the sacks and never saw any more as said they could be delivering illegal drugs.
SHIT COMPANY!!!
Mike & Heidi, I've caught up on the channel! After being so far behind on your videos, being surprised that you were no longer full-time RVing, I'm now watching a video from four days ago. Staying in motels...last time we had to do that, it was because our trailer was at the factory for a bunch of (complimentary) repairs. The next time we expect to do it, it will be for much more expensive repairs, at that same factory, for hail damage we hope insurance covers well. We always have a "go" bag, with clothes, toiletries, etc to last us a bit, but normally we don't *need* it. For these motel stays, we do. I keep laughing about the backpacks. IDK, but that sounds paranoid to me. I see people with backpacks, and it doesn't even occur to me to wonder what they're carrying. But I've also never got to the point where I knew what all the "normal" local vehicles were, and was worried about interlopers. We *have* found that with RV parks. Some, we feel right at home, get to know neighbors, etc. Others, it's just a place to stop temporarily, and we don't feel at all welcome, or even particularly comfortable. One, in SC, we went to the office and saw some signs. Some were about the deep discounts they offer to law enforcement, veterans, and active duty military (we're NOTA), as well as a sign saying something about how firearms are welcome, but please keep them holstered unless absolutely needed, at which point judicious aim was appreciated. We laughed out loud at that, and even though the discount didn't help us personally, it made us feel safer, more comfortable, knowing the cg was biased in favor of LEO and military. One close neighbor was a sheriff's deputy. I didn't worry *at all* about people from outside wandering around the campground looking for things to steal, which has been a worry at a few places. Another campground had a lot of "seasonal" campers, who knew each other and socialized a lot. Instead of being ostracized as short-timers, we were kind of welcomed in by them, made to feel part of the crowd. Mortgages...we have our budget figured out for our next (last?) settled place, with no need to borrow money. We have no debt now, and want to keep it that way. We'll get what we can from the trailer and truck, live debt-free, and be frugal. Owing money for depreciating assets is a fool's game, though we've done it. Owing for a home is less so, but still not ideal. It's bad enough that you have to pay property taxes, or have your home stolen from you. Ramen soup tastes especially good when you know it's helping you stay debt-free. Toll transponders...for quite a while, my job had me using a particular toll road to get from my home to the local airport and back. Finally, I got tired of stopping at the booths, and got a transponder, with a prepaid account and all. A few weeks later, I got a call from my boss saying that was my last day with that job, and my airport trips went to near zero. A few months after that, we moved to another house, and had essentially no need of that toll road.
Safe travels. And thanks for catching up 😁
@@Rvdaydream Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Great video! I have a question. Csn you give us the make model and year of the rv so we can know?
czcams.com/video/w4KGvzOJkZ4/video.htmlsi=s80eObvzRPHlxbMC
"Pull off, climb in the RV, take a nap"...yeah, not so much for us. Our 45' fifth-wheel toy hauler is great for a lot of things, but not that. We have five slides: two opposing up front for the kitchen, two opposing in the middle for the living room, and one aft in the bedroom for a wardrobe. The middle right slide, which I'm sitting at now (has my desk, my four computers, multi screens, etc.) is aft the entry door, and blocks access to the upper aft section, meaning the bathroom and bedroom. If we can find a place with a bit of room on the right, and level enough, we can extend that one slide and get to the bedroom and bathroom, but otherwise, the RV is kind of useless in parking lot situations. Another model we'd looked at had a similar problem, but then the manufacturer shifted that slide forward, and the entry door aft, and solved it. That meant no access to the kitchen though, so like everything else in the RV world, it's a compromise.
One time, I found one of those single-serving cups of yogurt, unopened in the fridge, and when I checked the date I found it was over a year past its expiry date. I opened it and smelled it, and it smelled fine! So I ate it. It tasted as good as yogurt ever does, and I didn't have any issues. OTOH, I was at a friend's house once, wit a couple of other friends, when the guy who lived there took a packet of ground meat from the fridge, smelled it, then asked another friend to smell it. The second guy nearly threw up. I had a good laugh, but kept my distance from that meat, which the second guy said was totally rotten. Some things really do go bad quickly, while others just don't. Moldy cheese? Just cut the mold off! Moldy vegetables? Compost or garbage. It seems the cost of traditional composite shingle roofing has gone way up. When we were selling one house, the buyers' inspector said it needed a new roof. We got estimates, gave them a concession for that. At the next house, we had a major hail storm, needed a new roof. These houses were about the same roof size, in the same metro area, but the second one was way more expensive than the first. At some point, just going with metal seems like a better option. It's a bit more expensive up front, but lasts a lot better. Many of the houses we've been looking at lately have metal roofs, and we always take that as an added feature.
Replace the sidewalk between your back door and driveway too!
At the 7m33s mark, paused, estimating the tree cleanup at $4K.
OK, so I'm underestimating quite a bit. $6K...that's a lot for that. I've done tree cleanup myself, and in that situation, I think I'd do just that. Save the $6K and just do it. I'd get a good chainsaw (I gave away my Stihl when we downsized for RV life), with a couple of different size bars and spare chains, sharpen up the machetes and axes, and get to it. With it all cut up, I'd then probably stack it for firewood, but possibly stack it in the back 40 for anyone who wants it. This would not be the work of one afternoon, at least not for this 60 year old fat guy, but I'd get it done over a few days. Now I'm curious what the fence work will cost. I've done that, too, and it's not hard. Roof work I'd definitely leave to the pros.
We cleaned up other trees last yr, we weren't into it this year lol
That chipper-shredder makes me think of the social media NotSee Party censors. I get the frustration with workers who won't work. We've run into that too many times ourselves. But we've also found people who just get in there and do what they said they would. We hired one guy for some landscape work, to prep a house for sale, and when his assistant didn't bother showing up, he just did all the work himself. No change in price, the work looked great, and we gave his name to other people looking for that kind of work. I think a lot of people have gotten caught up in the culture of "entitlement", believing they deserve something without making any effort. I know some people will describe this in generational terms, but I don't buy that. I've known too many people of my own age range who are deadbeats, and plenty of Millennials who work hard and take responsibility. It isn't ethnic, or anything like that, either, though some people like to claim that one or another group is particularly hard-working, or particularly lazy. On the ideal place to settle down, I'm tempted to give you our choices, but it really depends so much on personal preferences. I do think it's a good idea to check out the quality of health care first. Some places in this country have *way* better health care than others. And IIRC, you get VA, which I've heard from friends varies even more than the non-VA health care.
Can you get a front rack for this bike 🤔
At one time you could. It does have bosses on the front and screws for mounting. Check the link in the description to see if it brings you to the same bike as in the video and then there should be accessories for that same bike when you scroll down on the website
@@Rvdaydream thx 🙏
Does your decision to keep house feel liberating?
Some days.. Lol
Love your car! 3000 USD
It's hard to understand how some people can be so thoughtless of others and not respect boundaries.
And of course I can't hold my tongue.. Lol
A tow truck in the preview has me very Curious. Can't wait for the next episode.
My camper is a 25 footer and it works for us. But , hard for me to make the bed, because it's at front by tongue and can't walk around bed to make.
That's what I was thinking, the house has alot great things so enjoy what you have.
I think you got a great deal!!
Well Heidi works and you live there , it's ok .
Hi Mike and Heidi…… He’s driving me nuts. LMAO
Just be happy that after all these years you still have each other. The older we get the more I realize how much this matters. I think it was very smart to let the lease go and pick up a grandma car like you did. The mileage is very low and the repairs and such will provide some more content for CZcams. As for saving all that money under the mattress I am thinking the itch to get back out in a camper of some sort might alter that plan a bit. You guys love the camping and the traveling aspect and you are not tied down at this point in your life except for Heidi's current job situation. I see a new to you RV of some sort in your future by this time next summer at the latest.
Amen. The only thing about the content for the repairs on the car, I don't even have ramps or a floor jack. And Heidi has a guy that works for her on the weekends that's trying to start a new automotive repair business and he does really good work for a fair price so, the wagon is at his place with a whole list of items to be replaced. I was going to spend about $250 on just the items I needed to Jack the car up . Or I would have had to borrow them from my son-in-law which I'm not a big fan of borrowing tools in general so for about $400 more we had somebody else do all the work . Again, it's kind of good having that extra little bit of money available to do things just like this whereas we would have been making a lease payment.
I think that you are making all the right decisions in this current economy! It is so difficult, we grapple with some of these same decisions!
We injoy everything you guy's talk about, thanks for home bace & RV update. The Power Watch Dog 🐕 is amazing product. Smart move stay at this location move the fence forward to the street lot's of room for RV trailer. Just keep in mind the entrance of the rv trailer will be on the fence side back in.
You wanna live where everybody knows your name, and there so dang glad that you came. The only thing Columbus discovered, was some seriously rough roads, bucking bronko, lets go! Holy weenershnitzel, its a freaking warzone out there, who activated the Mocktar Stealth Haze? HAHA! Mike, lets make my Niece Heidi happy, install a wood shop dust extractor in the basement, that will solve the dust problem. And as long as you have a vent fan pulling air in and out, she should be able to paint in the basement too. I would have bought the lease car, but you do whats best for you. Struts dollar a piece? Well I'd buy that for a dollar! You made a great point, about how much you saved to not lease a new car. I think Mike is right, knowing his cooking skill, he'd accidentally create mustard gas, then he will pass out.
Lol Uncle Stellar.. Tell Mike to get busy in the basement for me lol😂😜
its very hard to pull the trigger on buying a house or car with these high interest rates.
I'm just wondering? Michael where did you retire from. Kudos to Heidi.
Only Heidi retired for the 3 years we hit the road, I never did retire..
I kept wondering in previous vids what the whole joke was with "the 'a' word", but didn't bother to ask. Now I know, and it made me laugh. We don't have any of that sort of thing. Plus, even if we did, I watch these vids with headphones, so no A/S/whatever device would "hear" it if we did have one. Is there a way to change their name, so you could avoid that problem? I'd change mine to something unlikely to be heard much, and also unlikely to come up in casual conversation. "Galadrial, turn on the garage lights!" Mike, have you lost some weight? I keep wanting to, and sort of do the intermittent fasting, but so far, no luck. "Something just like that." Boots. I bought a pair of boots at DSW, and they seemed OK during my brief test in the store. Over time, as they wore in, I realized just how amazing they were. They really fit my foot, provided support that I really need, had excellent grip, and with a gel insert remained comfortable for many hours of hiking, yard work, or whatever. Of course, they wore out, so I went back to DSW, bought another pair just like it, and was happy with those for years again. I may have even had a third pair before I was unable to find the same model. The closest one I could find, from the same manufacturer, didn't have as good support, was never as comfortable, and didn't last as well. Now I have yet another pair from that manufacturer, more like the older ones, but still not as supportive. I wonder if I should have just bought several pairs that second time, and kept them in storage. On the e-bike reviews, I'd be interested in an overall comparison. Of all the various models you've tested, what are the pros and cons of each, maybe ranked for various categories. When we downsized for the RV lifestyle, I sold my road bicycle, a Specialized Allez Elite I'd put thousands of miles on. Partly because of downsizing, but also partly because I can no longer ride with drop bars. A more upright (or 'bent) model would be better, and having the electric assist would also be good. Meanwhile, my wife could use an e-bike too. Ideally, we'd want a tandem recumbent e-bike, but I don't even know if anyone makes those.
Daaaamn! Where’s towmater taking that whip?!
Heidi…understand the long work hours as I spent 39yrs in big Box retail mgt…
It's crazy and work ethics have changed since 2020 lol.
Nice station wagon guys.
