Mad flippers
What's your take on mad flipping? My first round is starting to mimic but they are flipping a ton. Born in May 2024.

We are finally up and running again after a long Winter/Spring lock down. The pair of falcons and multiple pairs of coopers have been brutal. We survived here with a decent team.

The second yb crew again
zhlédnutí 378Před 9 měsíci
Today, we had the second yb crew out. Some days they are just banging it out, good depth with quality rolls. Then there are these days, just straight up tumblers. This is why I don't fly ybs in competitions. They are not reliable.
Main yb team again

November and 60 degrees in Minnesota with no wind. What better way to enjoy another great day on this Earth than to fly the main yb team. Come with me on this journey to get the ybs back in shape.

First time out in a while for the main yb team. Let's go! They come down hot, need to get that roll out of their system. My birds take a few days to get back on track but this is the team to beat next year.
It's November - youngest yb kit
zhlédnutí 329Před 9 měsíci
Yay, I can finally fly again. I will be updating clips of what I have left in terms of teams. This is the youngest yb group. They are starting to come into the roll. A few in there still squeaking. They should turn it on any day now. The next calm day, I will film my backup yb team. They are fun to watch so stay tune.

From 90 degrees to 50s. The cooler is here. That means the Fall migration is not far behind. This team should come in by November.
The 2023 movers, shakers, and rollers
zhlédnutí 554Před 11 měsíci
I have been focusing on flying yb teams. Moving birds around to make a performing team. Birds range from 2 weeks of air time to 3 months. Definitely some still squeaking. Sorry I haven't been flying my main team much. I am trying to get a rolling yb team before the snow flies. I hope every one else is having a better season.
Training my second round.

    Nice. They're responsive to you and you seem to have the feed amount spot on. You have them trained to a frisbee tap instead of a can? Of course, there always has to be one at this age that wants to piddle around on the roof! I have his buddy in my first round kit right now. Of course, it happens to be the one I liked the most when they came out of the nest! LoL

    • @MAlofts

      Always gotta to have one knuckle head in the group. Yes sir, Frisbee is the only way over here. Too many BOPs to use a whistle call. I never liked the feed can call. Sounds don't carry far here in the city. Birds can see from hundreds of feet away, so visual feed call is more effective for me

      @MAlofts Před rokem

      @@kerbyjackson88 I do want to add that the feed call is usually only used until they get the route down. I rarely call in my old birds. They know that once they land, they need to trap in. I would find it strange if people still called in their old birds.

    • @kerbyjackson88
      @kerbyjackson88 Před rokem

      @MAlofts I'm in the position where I really don't have old birds anymore. I'm down to four 2022 birds out of 135+ courtesy of the Peregrines. But back in the days when I could actually keep them around in large numbers (late 80s/early 90s, I guess), I think I always continued calling just because I'd done so much repetition that it became a habit. Another factor is, for whatever reason, when I first started out, I did not use traps and just called them in and out the door. Needless to say, it tended to necessiate keeping the commands up. A couple of years ago, I had traps put into the current kit loft I'm using, thinking it might help against the Cooper's, but with the Peregrines pushing the Cooper's out, I don't use them and still basically fly the way I started flying 40 some years ago.
