Btw what do you suggest gateron smoothie or akko v3 cream yellow pro or v3 matcha green pro I am looking for a switch that has a bit of thocky sound profile and has a buttery typing experience as I type a lot so lightness in typing is priority

Would you recommend the smoothies over the new akko v3 pro switches?

When they get marked down for flash sales on Amazon (which happens every so often), RK keyboards have served me really well as my "blank slate" when there are specific switches and keycaps I want to try out. The boards themselves are built pretty well, they offer a good range of layout options, and they have full hotswap capability, and they are priced at a point that often doesn't check all three of those boxes. Case in point -- my work board (which I'm typing on right now) is an "alpine blue" RK96, which I immediately set up with a set of Outemu Silent Jade Yellows and an inexpensive set of KPRepublic SA Fishing-colorway keycaps that match the blue of the board itself really nicely. I only ended up spending just a smidge over $100 for everything, and this board feels and sounds ridiculously good for the price point.

What would you recommend the cream yellow pro or matcha green pro?

Just got it. Man the knob is too stiff. It's so hard to move and not consistant at all. Wish it was smoother. Hard to move with 1 fingers.

orange and purple is like the best colour combo ever ig also i thought at the beginning those where some kinda food and that was a blender.

I hate that ping sound in the switch. Can be fixed with adding switch films.

I wonder how different these are from the Outemu Tactile Milk Tea switches. I just build a board with the milk teas and they are possibly the quietest switch I have ever used.

How would you compare the ease of customization on this board over the original release? I heard about some pesky plastic clips holding it together and chose to get something else with screws instead.

Lol, Epomaker "rebranded" GMK81 this time... As for the keycaps, there is some name for that profile but it's essentially slightly shorter ASA, but inferior ofcourse. KBDIY has multiple sets of these on Aliexpress and there are some in that format that are slightly differently designed and fully doubleshot instead of partially. They're typically $25-35 for a large set and they feel pretty good to type on, I have 2 sets myself.

I did a written review for this a couple of months ago, basically a GMK81 but Epomaker has done a great job of pulling all the parts together and building it so you don't have to IMHO. The switches, while a little light for me, are fantastic and I too love the caps. I only wish the double shot covered the whole cap as I think it would sound even better. Overall a very nice keyboard for the price! Great review, we definitely came to very similar conclusions as usual!
