    Man that's a sweet view using the drone... I need to get me one of those to bad Skydio is no longer making them. Kyle from The DirtBike channel swears the DJI drones work well but I hate supporting the CHINA PLA "CCP"

      Thanks. I don’t ride very well when it’s up because I’m looking at my phone image or the drone shadow most the time. And because I’m old. lol . Skydio is a USA company. If you are in Utah check (k s l) for some used ones . You need a beacon and iPhone . Don’t fly with another type of phone. Sadly, DJI (CCP spy drones) does not have ANY tracking technology that works so a skydio at this time is your only option.

    Some cool trails and video! Drone following you is neat! So this bike stock? How is the chassis and suspension working? Some good rebates on 2024 FX350's now and I want a new 350....just not sure if I should wait for the updated chassis (which is a little better on my 24.5 KTM 450FE). Love the new 350 engine!

      The hardest thing is worrying or watching the drone (A Skydio 2) shadow while riding. I almost ate it in that canyon in that video in a basic corner, because I couldn’t see it in my iPhone on the crossbar pad. LOL. Knowing that Skydio does not sell consumer drones anymore, and DJI drones are total garbage for tracking adds to the stress…. Ya, stock 350. I really like the 350 on MX tracks but when I trail ride, I realize the 350 is so great all around. I definitely will get another 350. Motor is insanely good. The reason I have not got a new one is, for what I ride, I don’t want to give up that airfork so I stick with my 23’. Not that it’s better than the 24’ spring fork, for one thing, but the air fork lets me adjust quickly for big stuff on MX tracks, and the next day, I’m doing 50 mph thru some hard packed single track. There is no way a spring fork can adjust for that big of range without changing the spring out all the time. Even if it is just trail riding. In the morning I might be riding deep wet sand stuff, til I get worn out, then quickly adjust, and I’m in fast open to hard pack technical dirt. Airfork adjusts on the fly. Or at least none of my buddies 2024’s seem to adapt as quickly as I can with an airfork. I wish they would make a Factory edition GasGas 350 EX. I like the look of the GasGas more than husky or KTM. However, that lowered shock dynamic on the husky works so well for me on trails.

    My Westie loves going for rides too! I use a GoPro 7 Black with a GoPro mic adaptor and a TNE gaming mic (only $8!) all connected to a Dango chin mount. The audio is excellent - can hear the bike and my voice and almost no wind noise. How do you mic up a GoPro Hero 12? I would want a small mic inside the helmet chin bar (same as I do with the Hero 7).

      Ya your videos have crisp sound/voice. Oh our Aussie's best friend for many years was a Westie. Such an amazing dog, tough... but sadly, he did not last as long as she as. Right now I just adhere mic fur over the GoPro mounts.I really should run a mic down under my helmet or maybe a remote to the fender/airbox someplace to get a better exhaust noise and eliminate the transmission noise. If you see my other videos I made a mount because I wanted the GoPro as tucked up and close to the helmet as possible and if my GoPro watch went dead I could see the record light on. I had a Hero 10/11/12 powered modification which included a pass thru door for a cable, and had a remote power source ( fake plastic battery with a + - lead cable. I attached that power cable to "castle creations "BEC to set the voltage to the measured voltage of a charged GoPro battery. I used this on my Honda Talon because I wanted the camera on all day on attached to a gimbal powered. The power all came from the Talon, so I never needed to change batteries. I ran a mic split out of a USB-C cable from modifying the mic adaptor accessory which was a pain, all the way out the by the rear cage. I have not got that fancy with the bike.

      No, I don’t care for a Rekluse much. In particular, on motocross tracks I have never trusted it in rhythm sections. If you make a bike great for moto, it still does pretty well for trail, or at least you can get by on trail.

      I much prefer Motocross over trails. I think I raced too many desert races back in the day. lol. So based on that, my pick would be the 350. But that is like a 48 Percent Versus 52 Percent ratio. Very close. If I did mountain trails, for sure the 300. IF it was fast sandy fun trail riding, maybe the 350 would win out again. I should note THAT the 24’ 300 is the ONLY 2 stroke I have ever transitioned from a 4 stroke that I could ride with confidence within the first 5 minutes. Usually, it takes half a day to reprogram my brain to 2 stroke mentality. IF I was buying a 300 I would barter hard with a dealer to swap to an AirFork. I think the spring fork is better for 1 type of riding but bouncing between 40 degree temps, to 80, trails, then motocross the next day, the spring fork kills the diversity of a “do all” bike by requiring oil and spring changes. What a pain. I would much rather have a lightweight ,”OK “ fork for all kinds of riding, than an heavy “awesome” fork for just one type of riding.

I like the 250F's but Im over 200 lbs, yet I ride aggressive so don't mind keeping things above 7,000 RPM. What has more pull and torque? The 350's or the 300?

    • @parkcitymacs
      @parkcitymacs Před rokem

      That's a tough question. Exiting from a slick corner on a track and hitting say a 80- 90 foot double or triple, 2nd gear or possibly 3rd, then the 350 has superior torque and pull. Off a concrete start, long start, hands down the 350 pulls better. Short start on dirt, it would be close. The traction control is superior on the 350 if it's dry and slick up the face of jumps. I'm sure why that is the case. If you are riding in 1st year, loose rocks, steep, more hard enduro type riding the 350 still has more pull, but the lighter feeling motor, less rotating mass of the 300, less chance to stall, then the 300 is probably slightly better. I have raced mostly 2 stokes in Desert as well as motocross, but find the 350 is a better overall bike and much easier to just go have fun on. For a short loop, or perfect conditions the 300 has a bigger fun factor if you ride it pinned but for where I'm at now riding, time is short, so I kind of feel why buy a TBI 300 if you ride a gear tall and lumber it.

      @parkcitymacs Před rokem

      Well, I'm not sure. I'm much for a motocross person than a trail rider despite doing a lot of desert racing in my youth. This is not a motocross feeling motor to me, but I'm old school too. I'm coming off a 2022 GasGas EX350 that feels like a rocket with very fun hit. I've always had and raced punchy fast quick bikes. Overall, I like the stiff frame and air suspension, lower CG the husky gives you. On one end I feel I can ride this bike hard without it wearing me out, and trust it. On the other end, it does not rip your arms out for having only a few HP less than a 450 because it's insanely smooth. I'm just not sure I like that smoothness. I was riding in an area in this video that was pure wet fun loam, so I did not want to waste my time on tight technical trails when this area is full of Moto-style deep sand trails. I hope to get it on a track soon. Then I will have more confidence than trail riding, to decide what I think of the motor. Life is short and I just ride for fun now, and I'm not sure I would say this is a fun motor Plus sides: I could not get this bike to flame out. I purposely tried and it would not kill where I knew the older 350 engine would for sure flame-out. I would say it's a massive improvement for those that might not consider a 350 stroke for flame outs. All 4 strokes can flame out, but this bike is beyond better. There is a little engine braking where as the older 350 had none. I kind of like that, at least for Motocross, I am guessing. So I think this will be better in bowl corners. Ergos are better unless you are smaller (Cooper Webb sized) rider. The new frames are roomy! All the amazing quality things you don't get on a Japanese bike just got better along with updates (battery system/wiring, kick stand, triple clamps, seat design, airbox, brakes, suspension...) It looks much better in person than on a printed cover or the internet. That was a bonus . Transmission is MAGIC!!! The gears are much more motocross like. I hated the XC and XCW transmissions . HATED THEM!! Now, First is low (yeah), 2,3,4,5 are closer to Motocross ratio, and 6th gear is wide. Why this took 10 years to figure out, when they had awesome transmissions on their 250F's off road models , I will never understand. Cheers!

      Yes , plus Upgrades since then... Turbo, 33's, suspension, and a JEI Off Road tire rack which is amazing with the Talon box. Well, was amazing. I sold the Honda Talon complete. The guy that bought it loves the Honda carbo box and JEI Off road rack combo. I have 3 friends that ended up getting the same exact system. They love it.

  • @CodyYankey
    @CodyYankey Před 2 lety

    Are you still riding this thing? Any issues out of it? One popped up near me, pretty much identical to your thumbnail. Kinda at a crossroads for the eMTB I want and the Rail lines up with the new RockyMountain stuff. So it's really Bosch or Dyname.

    • @parkcitymacs
      @parkcitymacs Před 2 lety

      Yes. Love it. I upgraded the fork and some minor things, so I think it's more of a Rail 9.8. However, this Rail got me back from an injury and back on my motocross bikes, so it's worth it weight in gold. Well, as expensive as these are it might actually cost more than gold. lol But yes, still out riding the rail! One thing I have noticed in Utah, there are a ton of "used" Specialized Turbo-Levo (comp, expert...) for sale and most are due to broken frames, cracks, downtube issues, cosmetic delams, failed frame sections, blown motors. I rarely see Rails on sale or out with problems on the trails. I would recommend this bike again, minus the BS speed restrictions on eMotors.

    • @CodyYankey
      @CodyYankey Před 2 lety

      @@parkcitymacs Nice, here in Denver I see more Levo's come up than anything as well, but, to be fair, they are the most sold eMTB to date. They also do great to warranty their problems with dealer access in almost every major city, in my research. For me it seems to be coming down to the motor/controller as everything modern is pretty good GEO wise. Components are important as well but more for durability over weight, in my opinion.

    • @parkcitymacs
      @parkcitymacs Před 2 lety

      @@CodyYankey Ya, that is true on volume and they are super good on replacement. But such a drag to even think of issues for the $$$ they cost. I can't count how many MX bikes in that $8K plus range I have raced with zero problems and sold for 90 percent the value a year later. MTB's are fragile little things but the e-versions certainly are fun. I will have to say, here in the Salty City, The Trek's hold a better value over the specialized, but that could also because of the volume of Levo's. Anywhoo, I would buy another one hands down.

    • @CodyYankey
      @CodyYankey Před 2 lety

      @@parkcitymacs You are for sure paying as an early adaptor of eMTBs. It's also unfortunate they tend to devalue so quickly but that is the cost of creating "new standards" every couple of years. Hell, all my bikes are 135mm spacing with HG freebodies. That is mostly why I am around asking everyone questions about their EMTB experience. I do thank you for sharing yours.

      I actually think you could fairly well on it. In particular if you keep it in turbo mode for the downhill bursts when you need it. The limitation seems to be the amount you want to clear double jumps or obstacles that have gaps. It drops like a brick when in the air.

      I am super happy with it. Now that I have had more time, I'm very glad I did not get the specialized Levo Comp/Exp . Fit an finish on the Trek is very apple like. I dumped the fork for a 38mm Zep ultimate , got some moto bend renthal carbon bars, and switched the brakes (left to right) so they are normal (motorcycle position). The bike is nothing close to the fun of a dirtbike or motocross bike, but I'm having a great time getting out on it. All that said, it is worth every penny!
