    "A genocide" It's not. The shiki didn't need to kill anyone at all but did so on purpose to try to create more of themselves. We know this for a fact because Tohru Mutou fed on Natsuno Koide several nights in a row without ever killing him. In fact, most people the shiki fed on weren't killed in a single feeding, but the shiki deliberately over-fed on their victims to murder them and create more shiki. Also, Ritsuko Kunihiro refuses to feed on anyone so we know the Shiki can choose not to feed on people at all, most are just too weak to make that choice. So basically the shiki were choosing to murder people and the villagers defended themselves. It's pretty cut and dry, all of the shiki except Ritsuko were murderers and their punishment was harsh but fair.

    Honestly, I think what the writers could’ve done to make it better is to give it 3 more seasons. The first one can be skipped, because it’s like wasting your time to get to the good stuff. Second season is set 10 years after the village burn down. We’re introduced to a 15 year old boy named Connor, who was adopted by Megumi’s parents, after what happened to both their daughter & home. Little did the boy knew is that he’s the son of a Vampire Warrior father, who was a royal Knight to the Master. His mother was an Angel from Europe. His Vampire powers get triggered by a swarm of Vampire Bats, where he ends up fighting not just Vampires, but Demons that were sent by the Master to come after him. He gets help from a stranger in a mask, who is an uncle from his mother’s side. He tells his nephew that he’s been watching over him, after his little sister died in childbirth, while the Vampire who impregnated her, was killed for his betrayed. Connor later tells his adopted parents the truth that he’s a Vampire’s child with an Angel. Little did he knew that this wasn’t the first time Mr & Mrs Shimizu had seen the undead. They told him about what happened from where they originally came from, & how the sister he grew up not knowing was taken from them. There was a fight, where he was wrong about having them as parents, & tells them to stay away from him. He storms out of the house, until he gets advice from a girl he’s been in love with since childhood, if he still cares for the family that was there for him. While giving him his first kiss. He runs back to apologize to them. Which was too late, because they’re both been murder to the point where they can’t come back like Megumi did. After the funeral, Connor leaves the city he lived in for a decade, to go with his uncle to a place that will help him. That being an organization where humans & monsters work together to keep the world safe from Darkness. He meets its leader, which is none other than Sunako. Along with Seishin, Toshio who came back to help them after what happened, & Akira who’s now an Exorcist. They told him that this Master was the same Vampire who turned Sunako, & the reason everyone’s lives were ruined. Connor joins the group, so that he can stop that Psychopath from ruining more lives. Third season takes place 5 years after season 2. Connor was trained by both his uncle & Sunako, who he now has as a mother, while he reminds her of Chizuru. They learn that Ambrose Lee(the Vampire Master) is after an ancient city for the Supernatural, that was sealed away centuries ago. They travel around the world to find 5 elemental keys, that would revealed the city’s location. Around that time, they learn that Tohru’s family is working for the bad guys, because Lee promised to bring him & Ritsuko back, if they help him with his monstrous goal. They are even surprised that Tatsumi is still alive, but is turned into a real Werewolf, who’s been experimented on after the fall of Sotoba. They even did return to the village itself, because the last key is there in the ruins. Where Connor fights the monster who murder his adopted parents. A Dark Knight named Raven, who is actually Natsuno. Turns out that both he & his father are mortal descendants to Lee, who’s been going after their family for centuries, because he needs his own kin to turn everything into Demonville. And he got Natsuno at his side, by telling him the truth of what Mr.Yuuki has been keeping from his own son. That he knew about Vampires long before they escaped to Sotoba. Connor gets seriously wounded by the guy his sister was obsessed with, explaining why he murder their parents, with Tohru’s sister Aoi by his side. The uncle makes an ultimate sacrifice to save his nephew & the family they have left. While Lee got what he wanted, which ends on a cliffhanger. Fourth & Final season takes place where the last one left off. Connor finally got to meet his birth father Tsukune, inside his head. He tells his son about his history with the Undead, & how he met the most beautiful woman who show that there’s goodness in his soul. It help Connor to wake up 6 months later. The world is in chaos with Lee being God himself. Connor with help from Sunako & the others do whatever it takes to stop his reign of terror. With little help from Tohru’s family, who redeemed themselves. As well as Natsuno’s parents, who both came back because of their son being alive, but not the Natsuno they know & love. They were even able to use a forbidden spell that resurrects the souls of those who died tragically. Megumi, Nao, Tohru, Ritsuko, & Chizuru all came back, but even stronger with Connor’s blood, that he shared with Sunako, making her almost powerful as the man who took her humanity from her. Together, they flew to Europe, where Connor visits the abandon home that his birth mother Elisabetha grew up in. He meets her in Heaven, who helps her little Angel to unlock their family’s true power. It give him the advantage to storm into the Dark City that Lee had awoken, with everyone including his big sister by his side. During their time of bonding as siblings. He tells her about his little encounter with Kaori at their parents funeral. She gives him the birthday gift that she try to give to his sister, before her death & resurrection. Making Megumi to forgive herself for what she did not only to Natsuno, Tohru, & Kaori, along their families, but herself. All she really needed is someone to help her to be more smart & kind for change. And she found Connor, who is her baby brother. Later, they face off against Lee, who turns himself into a complete Monster by absorbing the souls of both Demons & Vampires. Connor, with little help from Sunako & Mr.Yuuki. The Shiki Queen & descendent of Lee sacrificed themselves to give Connor what he needs to kill that Monster. With Natsuno, now redeemed, after being reunited with his parents, with his father saying how sorry he was about everything. Together, he & Connor flew to the dark skies to fight the now transformed Lee. By combining both Light & Darkness to send his ass to hell. The world was saved from Darkness. Toshio even did made a big sacrifice to save Chizuru, instead of letting her get killed again, with her & Seishin being there by his side. He tells them to take care of Kanami, who he married & have a daughter with, before leaving them to keep them safe. Tohru’s father also dies for his family, while telling Tohru to take care of them for now. Epilogue. A year went by after the war between Light & Darkness. Humans & Monsters now lived together in peace. Seishin writes a sequel to his last novel, while marrying Nao, just to replace her husband. Tohru finally gets together Ritsuko, while still looking after his family. Akira returns back to Japan, just to get to know his little niece. Natsuno, becomes the next Vampire King, but in a good way, while having Aoi, Megumi, even Chizuru as his 3 brides. As for Connor. He returns back to Japan, just to go to college with the friends he hadn’t seen in 6 years. While always looking out for everyone as their Guardian Angel. Which his parents are very proud of.

      @@generalmark7630 yeah it would make sense that not only there are Vampires in that world. But other Supernatural Monsters. Like Demons, Werewolves, Ghouls, Zombies, & Witchcraft. While Exorcism is real too. Same with Angels. I even do believe that Ambrose Lee(got this from a fanfic followed up called More Than a Jinrou), is a reincarnation of Dracula. And him being Natsuno’s evil ancestor does make him the Madara Unchia of the series. Which does make Natsuno Sasuke+Obito/Tobi, & Connor(named after an OC from another fanfic, which is a crossover with Soul Calibur) is Naruto. Meanwhile you got Seishin as Kakashi, Megumi as Sakura, Toshio as Shikamaru, Sunako as Tsunade, Akira as Iruka, & the uncle as Jiraya. That’s all I could think about.

    I will make an argument that the vampires were beyond fatuous in their plan. A small village being picked off one by one is going to notice their population slowly going down. They should’ve went after a major city. Once the government of a major knew of the source the numbers of the vampires would’ve too great for them to contain.

I think the only characters I truly liked and sympathized with were Muroi and Ritsuko. Although, Megumi's ending was truly saddening as all she really wanted was to live a life that she felt meant actually something, without being constantly judged and watched.

    @N0411REGIS Před 8 měsíci

    Well I personally hate the shiki here, I don't need any complex philosophy and moral, I just see simple and straight forward reason and logic of whole thing. First, shiki are basically your common vampire species you would know of, drink blood to sustain their life, sunlight burns them, and they could turn human into their own kind. Aside than the main threat for human with shiki's trait that could turn human into their own kind, shiki drinking blood to live can be their way not to prey on human, but to live in coexist, they can get have help with blood donor and exchange it with labor or money, since they live long and have better physique they can bring that as bargainning so they get the blood, but no, here they want to kill the humans to turn them into their kind, and that is the reason why I hate them here. They kill a mostly normal living human and turn them into shiki because they want to be living in group, but that is just pure ego because they need to kill the human for them turn into shiki, and this is a misfortune for a normal human to die and their relative is at loss, and that leads to sadness and depression, not to mention those who turn into shiki couldn't live like they did when they still human, a great impactful example are nao yasumori, she have happy normal live that she finally gain after bad childhood and the have a loving family, but then she turn into shiki and she tried to turn her family into shiki, but then there is probability for a human to turn into shiki and not all of it are 100% success, so it is another dilema in itself where you could become long lived vampire or die if you infected with shiki virus(?). And this become the tragedy for nao since she couldn't make her family into shiki and responsible for killing them instead and the guilt of it while always regreting she couldn't come back to where she is before, imagine living a long live with that always haunt you, you are better dead with that. So for shiki to drink human blood to live that could lead into killing the humans, I can understand that because we too kill animals to sustain ourself, but for shiki, killing human can be avoided with just blood donor, but the act of multiply their number by killing human and turning them is an egoistic and arrogance from shiki, they don't care about the human loss they don't care about the grievance of the human relatives that they killed, and so this become a true threat for human that shown here and what makes me hate the shiki here without an ounce of symphaty, because in here it is either I die or the die, without considering of you live and I live and we coexist, this story only show the arrogance of the shikis and makes it as if they need symphaty, but because of their goal here they don't deserve any of it, just from sunako kishiki I just hate that innocent looking devil, she feel grievance for her killing people so she could live, but she also planned to kill all human in the village and turn them into shiki without a single doubt, and she starting to looks like the victim are just near the end where the shiki genocide begin while she is the mastermind and the reason why all of it began, and I hate half assed muroi who couldn't decide that what shiki did in the village is wrong and the shiki genocide are also wrong, and say as if it all the natural course of action and try to either put a blind eyes or run away from all those trouble. But the dark side of humanity that shown here also need to become of a reminder that not all things in this world are good and not all are bad either. But still what is done by the human villager are trully something that raise question to morality of the whole situation especially yuuki's vengance thought and toshio's So in the end, what sunako, yuuki and toshio did is what start the cycle of tragedy, and what muroi did is just let the cycle rolling and make sure it keep on rolling by ignore it and let it go as it is, and what trully need to be done in the end is communication and understanding of each other not just pure arrogance of thinking what you did is the one and only right thing

    I think that all the talk about peaceful coexistence is utterly naive. Thing about us, humans. How much war, discrimination, oppression was waged because of some insignificant differences between us? How many people are oppressed because they have different skin pigmentation, because they love someone of a different gender than society wants them to, because they are a different gender than society wants them to, because they have slightly different neurology etc? Sometimes there are no differences at all and we still kill each other over imaginary lines our rulers put down on a map. There is literally no chance that society would accept a literal non-humans, literal blood-sucking vampires (especially considering village's legends about okiagari monsters). They would be raided and murdered. This is why Sunako wanted to kill or turn the entire village - she knew, she must have seen that many times in her over 100 years of life, including living through times of both World Wars, how humans are, how we kill each other over the smallest differences. She knew that the only chance for Shiki to live in peace would be to isolate themselves from humans completely.

    thank you for recommending me black adder, I thought the first episode was somewhat funny, until he realised that the man he was nursing was Henry, then funniest part was how the ghost of King Richard III bahhhed at him when he was looking for henry

    I wish I was here for this stream, this was really wild and went onto many different types of media. I don't know how you managed to put so well what I don't like about Elden Ring, though it may just be because I don't like open world games where things are super spread out and the areas in between feel empty. I was super surprised when you mentioned DJ Peach Cobbler, it's so weird to see someone else completely unrelated to his discord also seen him; his videos are great, even if I don't always agree with them, they get me to appreciate something I left for granted

      It was not in the plan, but it worked out. Yeah, Cobbler is amazing.

    2:21:20 That thing with Giorno never happened, that was a joke passed around until people actually bought it. There's a LOT of that in Jojo because the line between a jojoke and actual cannon is so thin.

    I dislike how this anime and its fans push the idea of “both sides are bad!” when the Shiki are 100% in the wrong. The instances where the humans were shown doing cruel things just felt like a forced attempt at equalizing the sides.

    • @starlight-567
      @starlight-567 Před rokem

      Exactly bruh. How the hell people say both sides are bad? Shikis did so much , killed so many people ( whatever the reason is) but they did kill a lot of people and all the villagers did was attack back. I was with Doctor's side the whole time. And the shikis are 100% the bad guys.

      There is a fanfic crossover with Soul Calibur, where a boy was able to get both Humans & Shiki to work together, to save the world from Masao, who makes a deal with Inferno, by becoming Nightmare. One thing that makes it better than the actual story. Is that it’s all about what it means for Monsters like the Shiki to be different from Humans, while being accepted as they are still Human, which does cure them. While adding better love stories than Twilight. With some Action going on in the last few chapters between the Hero & the Villain of the story.

    Came back to this video after a couple years of first seeing it, and not only I still agree with everything, but I actually found myself even more invested than before. Giorno has always been my favourite JoJo, but the clearness with which you explained your reasoning (particularly about Phantom Blood's legacy) and your genuine, heartfelt passion for this character pulled me in and now I'm even more in love with part 5 than I was before. It just means a lot to me. Thanks a lot for this video man, it's great

  • @superpacocaalado7215

    Great vídeo, Shiki is one of my favourite animes and I had a great time watching it the first time. Unfortunately I can't find the hole anime anymore, with the 2 extra episodes that came with the Blu-ray version, does anybody knows where I can find it? Pirated or not.
