I'm training a hunting terrier sir I like what you said I've asked a few land owners for permission to trap pigeons and I'm using this technique. You re right about taking care of the creatures that help us put food on the table and fun in our hearts.

Hi from D.Ks lofts Birmingham rollers, you have no ventilation on the top of the back wall 4" wide by the length, its needed.? for air and help dry the loft out in winter.?

I love this and that fact that God DID ask us to look after other critters. Here's the thing. Why do you card/Gater Aid your pigeons anyway? I know the answ.er but getting a pigeon back comes as a cost to the dog and therefore your customer. Getting your pigeon back is NOT the priority. Getting a high class bird dog IS. I was using pigeons when most folk ridiculed me. I used them in a way to replicate wild birds and wild birds don't fly a certain SHORT distance and then land. You have it right - use pigeons. Now find yourself a source so that you can re-use wild untethered, carded, hosed pigeons. Let them fly away and teach your dog, "I guess you should have pointed!"

Correction: I stated it will hold 32 birds. Realistically, it will comfortably hold 16. I have had 20 birds in it with no problems. 12-16 birds is optimal for long term.

Thoughts on the loft now that you have had it a while
See pinned comment above. It’s a very sturdy loft I can tell you that! I moved this loft to my lake property and it’s ridiculously heavy, so I’m thinking “this thing isn’t going anywhere.” Let’s just say my fiancé had me “distracted” as I was cruising down the rural county blacktop on the way to my lake property and the next thing I know I see it catch air and skid down the blacktop and go end over end about 4X, then barrel roll 5 or 6X until coming to rest in the ditch.... I’m thinking do I even stop. There’s not going to be enough left of this thing to bait a fishhook with. 😆 Unbelievably, the only repair it needed was the right rear seam to the house buttoned back up, and the roof (which came off in one piece) put back on. It snapped off one 4X4 leg, and I had to replace the handle to the slide gate and the solar light. SHE LIVES! 😆 And, you’d never know that thing blew out the back of a pickup at 65 mph! 😂
The light bar is too much. Try using an 8 inch model from Walmart. The 20 incher is 120 watts. That's a ten amp load @ 12 volts. I had one on my boat and it is great until you're on the receiving end of it. The 8 inch version is completely adequate.
Your math is a bit off. It's not a bad little loft. But it's not a breeder loft. Your outside stuff is great. Not enough room on the inside. But; you have a lot of room to remodel and grow. If you built another one just like this one, and think eight birds not sixteen, now your good! It looks nice. It isn't big enough not for very many birds. Some people have worse.

Your loft is way too small ?! Not enough space for birds at all or any small size pigeons . Better for doves & pigeons are different from doves
Birdman Yang these birds are used for bird dog training. This loft is for keeping birds short term. I appreciate your concern.

That's a sick rig man! I am getting ideas for my 12' V that I plan to turn into a small duck boat. I love the white LED's in the center at the bottom of the seats. I plan to do that with mine also. Camo is perfect!
