j' étais toute petite quand mon père dansait avec nous cette chanson favorite, on avait la cassette que son frère l avait envoyé du Canada, on écoutait en boucle Harry Belafonte tous les jours, notre cadette se nomme Angeline, elle l' a prenait dans ses bras et dansait Angelina Angelina avec elle, lorsqu il est mort neuf ans passé j' ai passé ma journée en écoutant Jamaica Farwell et aujourd'hui je l'écoute encore et encore et mes enfants connaissent aussi l histoire de cette chanson. je t'aime papa tu me manques énormement

Such a beautiful voice... great, great song. I remember "Forever", "Just one turn of the wheel" - Mary Lu Zahalan and "Romeo" - Shari Ulrich... all came out in 1982. Three real great pop gems, from Canadian females, that never broke big internationally... never understood that.

I started trumpet in 4th grade in 1964 and I soon heard about this amazing musician. I remember playing the LP of this at 16 instead of 33 1/3- It sounds like a very good Euphonium player playing an 8 minute exercise. Even at half speed the articulation was essentially perfect. What a legend!
You'd think the grave marker would be more elaborate given how famous and well known/loved he was.
Susan jacks has that voice of an angel! I bought this album when it came out in 1982 I was a teenager. Played this song constantly and still love❤ it Beautiful songs live forever. Sooo sad 😢about Susan ‘s passing back in April at age 73. She’s truly blessed. Thank you to who posted this beautiful Susan Jacks song😊❤
Facebook recommended a video by a trumpeter playing this and I found myself thinking it would sound better on the French Horn. I was right.
