I remember the Isles being up late, then they give up a cheap goal that dribbles past the goalie. The game ended in a 2-2 tie and I remember my cousin saying “but we needed the two points!”

Though there were many great moments in the dynasty, this game and series was the crowning achievement. They didn't dominate in 1983 as much as 1981-82 but they didn't have to in order to impress. The fact they could not only get back to the Finals but then sweep a team who had crushed everything in their path? Amazing team. Once it was 3-0, it was all but over and one had to think they were watching the greatest dynasty ever in hockey. As a big Habs fan, I'd be partial to their two dynasties but the Isles won 19 straight series and had more of a gauntlet to deal with most years. They take the crown. This isn't even taking into account that they were close to a 5th straight Cup a year later. No one since then has come close to even winning a 4th straight title (and no one has won 3 in a row).
