It would really be helpful if you could give a step by step verbally so we understand what exactly you are doing and why. It's a great video and helpful as it is but I'm someone who likes to know names of the parts , and why it's done a certain way. Kind of like when you were filing the reed down. How much was taken off is there anywhere to find actual schematics for measurements and such. I think it would be good if you play a instrument to know how to work on it modify it, tweek it, or clean it. Same as if you drive a car I think it's a very smart thing to know how to work on it and fix almost any issue. I know there are some things that have to be done by professionals but for theost part you can fix anything yourself. Saves money, time and you feel good knowing you are capable.

I don't speak English that's why I decided not to put voice audio. when i made this video there was no machine translation on youtube. these things are learned with practice. the first few times it probably won't go well but with a little practice it's easy to get a good result. I don't know any schematic or manual. the help of a tuner is essential. With practice you will see how much you have to file and in which area of the tongue, on the top or bottom depending on whether you want to raise or lower the note. Are there any books you'd recommend for learning to do harmonica repair? I've got about 30 harmonicas or so of all types and would love to go through them and tune them up, replace reeds, etc.. I;ve got my fathers old Hohner Chrmonica that my mother gave to him before he got on a troop carrier to fight in the Korean war. He drove those GI's almost nuts but, he learned to play while on that ship. He had it gold plated a few years before he passed and I've got it in my collection now. The 6th hole almost sounds like it's trying to play two notes at the same time, the 7th and 8th holes also seem to be trying to play two different notes at once. I picked up a harmonica repair tool made by Harmo and it has abouot 12-15 different tools on it. Hopefully that will do the trick.. Any help is greatly appreciated.
The truth is that I do not know if there is any book that deals with this topic. If you allow me to give you some advice, it would be to practice with harmonicas that you don't appreciate so much. once you see that you are good at repairing harmonicas you could try repairing your father's old harmonica. another option you have is to take this harmonica to a luthier to have it repaired. Harmonica repair is not very expensive. good luck with your repairs. Also tell you that there are websites on the internet that sell reeds for honner harmonicas of different models. a greeting.
