Yeah dude so criminal what you payed for that clapped pile of 15 year old junk that’s been through probably 5-6 dipshit riders, also has a oil burning issues, also trashes gears, and it’s scratched and beat up to hell and back. I would’ve maybe gave $4,000, and then just tried to dump it immediately and pocket a g or 2. Kids.. 🤦
So the clutch thing…. If u pump the clutch the noise should go away or not… i dont get it, whats the good thing
Does your bike have that crankwhine also? I own an 09 its kinda annoying but everyone says its OK. All 08 and 09 have it.
@@Slimdawg2011 well im gonna buy a 2009 this Saturday but like I said i dont get it. The noise should go away while pushing the clutch or not
can you drop the link to where you purchased? or get the part #
filmed like it was uploaded in 2008 too
Steven Spielberg fears me:)
quick question what windshield are you running on this video?
A light smoke zero gravity corsa windshield
@@jakee_117 Very clean, my next purchase
@@Anonami5348 glad I could help, it really helps keep wind off you on the highway
@@jakee_117 That's exactly why i need it for, I feel all the wind on the stock windscreen. doesn't feel comfortable trying to fight the wind all the time
What kind of windshield is that I need I bigger one I have the stock
new to bikes just bought a 2008 ninja 250r going to upgrade to a 1000rr in a year or so are they fuel injected
Yes
Guys can I get an advice which modeli better get in hondas cbr 1000 rr 2007 or 2010
Imo 2010
I have a 2009 UK bike. 25k miles and no issues yet. Does use a little oil
How many miles do you have on it?
31k with no engine issues!
@@jakee_117do you still have it ? I just got a yellow 08 it hit 9,000 miles yesterday , just an Akropovic exhaust. It has the punch at the left and right side of my VIN on the triple tree, does that mean it had the crank replaced and clutch /coolant components? And how do you know if you had the service bulletin or not ? Iam confused lol
@@jromez631520 honestly the best way to verify is to call Honda corporate from thier website and ask them, they can see your bikes service history and let you know for certain just ask about any service bulletins performed and recalls
No way bro I’m actually so sad mad right now. I just bought a new exhaust, new fairings, and going to install a new (ordered) integrated brake light and fender eliminator. Literally couldn’t wait to do clutch up wheelies and then I see this video. Bro there’s no way 😡
You can call Honda corporate to see if someone had the clutch/ crank recall done if the clutch/crank service bulletin completed you should be fine. A lot of early bikes had the clutch whine issue and the first owners had it fixed
What's the other red one at the front
A SP1 RC51
in 3k miles i put like 8 quarts in it
Where did you get your bike seat from? Do you remember 🔥🔥
It’s a saddleman track seat👍🏻
so this has a resonator delete along w the magnaflows? i just swapped my resonator for a race bullet, i've got some 2" super turbos i wanna put on but i worry it'd be too loud/droney/raspy. i had magnaflows and something else on my G35 and it droned pretty bad (was like that when i bought it) but this sounds good
Yes it’s just magnaflows with a resonator delete, I had it straight piped with a resonator and it sounded really drony on the Highway so I slapped on the magna flows
@@jakee_117which magnaflows were they? 4X9s, 2.5”? Did this have any drone either
@@a.kblur04 no drone
I have had my 08 for a long time now, and I have done both dragraces & wheelies. Havent had one single problem with my bike since I purchased it. Some people are just too worried I guess. And about the oil burning some 08s do burn oil, and do not..
Worried about my 08 after watching this, my bike has a punch mark on the left side of the vin above the first letter and a punch on the right side below the last digit/letter, so does that mean my crankshaft was replaced or just the clutch and coolant part? My bike sounds just fine so idk, just hit 9,000 miles yesterday , it’s one of the yellow ones
Your shox sox are too high Pull them down to cover the chrome part of the leg and keep them clean from dirt
Common misconception, they're to protect the upper fork leg from dings and the dust seals, if they were over the lower fork they could bind on compression
Probably drinks oil bc the other owner before u was not changed there oil regularly
I’ve had my 09 since 09, never had any issues, sorry for your bad luck. Mine doesn’t burn any oil, and runs when I want to drag or drive. I don’t wheelie, so I can’t comment. 09 1000RR won Bike of the year for a reason. I would encourage you to look at the thousands that own the 09, with zero problems.
No problem at all for me aswell on my 2009
All mine does is burn some oil, other than that she’s problem free except a electrical issue I fixed that was killing the headlights. My oil burning has decreased significantly since changing to motul 7100 and using liquid moly mos2 additive.
I’m picking up a super low mile 09 and am hyped to finally join the liter club
Very informative, deja vu. I had my 08 since 2015 and was lucky to have Honda address the recall on the house. After a motor rebuild and primary gear replacement, no more of that whiny sound during idle.
Hp4s oil is what’s recommended and trust me your bike will appreciate it better.
My brother there are many people in my country who sell this exact 2008 bike From a clip I knew the reason for the large offer in the market I wanted one like it but what makes me back down is the abs Is it 2010 and 2012 models Is it good? Thank you
All 10 and up bikes have most of these issues ironed out
which magnaflows is it? and my gs has 171k miles sheesh
I’m not sure a shop put them on for me:/
@@jakee_117no gate keeping
What's better the 2007 model or 2008?
Track and canyon Performance. Sc59 comfort and reliability 2007 sc57 I wouldn’t get the 04-05 just because it has 310mm discs it went up to 320 after 06 if you want a 08 but want reliability buy a 10-11 and up
Also the 07 is a much better commuter/ tourer but it’s a less aggressive chassis power is almost the same but the 07 is like 25 pounds heavier
The “youre good luck” had me cracking up 😂 thanks for the video, very informative
my 08 burns oil and has crank whine, but it has the service punch near the triple tree so idk whats wrong with the dang thing lol.
I got told from mechanic that the whine doesn’t do any damage to the bike, it’s just something that happens to those models.
Did u do dual exhaust or just 1 and did u take off cats ?
Duals and stock cats
any more clips im trying to make it sound the same for my gs 350
Really helpful video. I bought one and noticed that. Never had it on my 2014.
I drag race a 08 haven’t had that problem
The burning oil problem only seems to exist for a small percentage of the 08 models. Easiest way to tell is to rev and see smoke coming from exhaust then uv got the problem
The easiest way to tell is to check your oil often some burns are to small you can’t tell by smell or sight
My 08 doesn’t burn and runs like a dream 😂 guys having a nightmare 😩
Mine 2009 and no burn oil aswell 😊😊
Do you have any part numbers or idea of exhaust size ? How much did it Cost you about
About more than you can afford - pal - Lexus
About $600 total
@@gideoncone6024 it’s a fancy Toyota lol
so basically buy a GSXR then.....
K5 preferably
Finally an informative review thanks! Just bought an '11 with 23k miles and decat two brothers seemingly careless previous owner.. I'm about to replace the tensioner and let's how she goes.. otherwise the bike is a sweet ride still feels a lot tighter and smoother than the gixxer that I test ridden just beforehand.
Glad I could help! Those oem tensioners go bad at around 20k I have a manual cct but unless you race a lot at high rpm a new oem is a more convenient choice
Thanx! No -08 for me. 😄👍
Fair enough!
Buy a 10👍🏻💪🏻
I honestly think -06 and -07 are the best looking. But they are getting quite old now.
@@robertmolldius8643 only rare issue I’ve heard. If on then is snapping timing. Chains I blame the tensioner so I’d go with a manual cct
I have a black and yellow. No burning of oil. Got it brand new in 2008
Envious. Brand damn new!!
I bought it BRAN NEW in 2008, no issues at all so far very happy with it, Honda took care of the recall, I have over 40K miles just take care of it..
I can't speak for the newer groms but I can't tell you about the OG I completely decked mine out with everything that you can do on my 2014 the next ones that I got all I did was an exhaust and Pro Taper handlebars that's all you need squeeze a little harder on the brakes until you get stainless steel lines and put some heavier fork oil if you're more than 230 lb but mine did 67 mph fully modded out fuel controller intake exhaust
Why do Americans take so long to get to the point . The most boring video I’ve seen .
really want to go grab one. Only way I could do it atm is throwing $500 down on a new one and finance it. Dude said $87 a month at 60 months but that would make the bike a little over 5k. Not sure its worth all that. Might just start off with the navi to get my feet wet and then get the grom eventually.
The Navi is carbureted. 60 months for a Grom is outrageous, but if you do 5 years, $5k over a span of 5 years isn't all that much. Check out bikes like a Yamaha R3 as well.
@@Oakleyshooter yeah I’m debating it. I could def pay it off way before that five years. Just the way groms are going is why I’m debating it. The shop I was talking to just got three last week and all are already gone. Going to keep saving for a bigger down payment and will probably do it by end of the month or start of next year. I was also looking at the newer cb300r. As that would basically be the same price as the grom. The Navi being carbd isn’t bad tho. People want to pretend it’s such a terrible thing but Honda has sold a lot of Navis and most owners love them and have next to no problems with them. For half the price of the grom it gets me out riding sooner too.
@@Oakleyshooter I said fuck it and applied for financing last night lol. He was giving me a rough guess on payments at the highest interest and longest term. My credit is sitting around 815 so I don't believe I'll get that 8% interest he was calculating.
Good luck, I'm looking at getting one for myself
Did you? What do you think?
Beautiful Gorgeous Bike
Good to know bro, I have an 09 with low miles appreciate it
I have an 09 and i feel cursed, mine is japan import it’s super clean low mileage but it does burn oil and my tuner can’t flash the ecu cuz the Japanese ecu is restricted and different than the us one, moral of the story buy a gixxer.
Mine doesn’t burn oil
Let me rephrase that. "Buy a zx10r".
@@eugenioteoli9225 I hear it was a hit or miss.
did you have to buy a tuning license for it? i am in for a restrictor remover tune today from a tuner that said he could do it..but he said i need to buy the licensing for my ecu specifically
@@benst2594 I paid around 400 dollars for the license and the dyno tune, the license alone cost 100$ from Woolich Racing but your tuner must use there specific tuning software.
2011 is the year they fixed the early issues it should be bulletproof with regular maintenance!
i have the 08 cbr1000rr,, the guy i bought it of blew third gear in the transmission so he replaced the engine with a 2011 model year.. hopefully what you are describing in your very helpful video holds true with the 2011 model years..
Your little miss said no?
Yep the boss said we need a new car before another bike, she’s right our Lexus IS dying lol
@@jakee_117 Great review. It's too bad about the Lexus IS. Those tend to be exceptionally well built vehicles . Hopefully you have a new car and a new Grom for Christmas.
@@123edwardzpad thank you homie!
Sounds so nice under load, I miss mine a lot
Are they fast? Thinking of getting one.. coming from a v6 mustang
@@jerrysummer69 best 0-60 time I’ve seen one of these gs350s get stock is 5sec flat, so it would feel more powerful for sure. Just keep in mind aftermarket engine mods are sort of hard to find.
Thanks for the update...On my son's older 4 spd Grom, Dropping the front sprocket one tooth added torque and added 4mph to the topend! YES, the Grom will hold 64mph on the flat and hit 69mph with a tailwind!
