Prevent Denial of Service and Man In The Middle Attacks with Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI)
A Denial Of Service (DoS) attack is an attack where a device or service becomes unavailable to devices that need it. One attack that can lead to a Denial of Service attack is ARP Spoofing.
ARP Spoofing is when an attacker modifies the IP Address in an ARP message instead of using the real IP Address of their machine. If this ARP message makes its way to other systems, it can cause their ARP Tables to be populated with bad IP Address to MAC Address bindings. This is known as ARP poisoning.
Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI) is designed to prevent ARP Spoofing and can keep your systems from having their ARP Tables poisoned.

How To Configure A Leak Map | EIGRP Protocol
zhlédnutí 360Před 2 lety
Watch this tutorial and learn how to configure a leak map in EIGRP In EIGRP, we have the option of doing Summarization on any router in the network. When we configure summarization, all prefixes that make up the summary are suppressed. This means those prefixes are not advertised, and the peer will only be given the summary route. In certain situations, we may want to configure summarization, b...

Cisco has their own implementation of Spanning-Tree, which is Per VLAN Spanning-Tree. It's different than the IEEE Standard, and you're expected to understand it for your CCNA exam. It's also important to understand how Spanning-Tree converges when there is a link failure in the network. Understanding this will help you understand why we prefer PVST over PVST. What's the point of not assuming both ports on a segment alternate (blocked)? Keeping one of them as Designated seems useless, because it forwards traffic to a blocked port and it always gets dropped. (Talking of STP 802.1D)
