@@progamer14562 I have literally not found another video saying that it destroys all your data. I googled the definition of a Trojan horse: "a program designed to breach the security of a computer system while ostensibly performing some innocuous function.". This does nothing that "breaches the security of a computer", all it does is open pop-up windows, which most modern browsers block by default anyway.

false info "youareanidiot virus" is safe don't cap maybe before it used to cause real damage but it's so old that the malicious code doesn't work I even tried it nothing bad happens only some popups appear and as far as I'm aware hackers can't destroy your pc just from visiting a website

You do not have to be in a virtual machine to do this, this "virus" uses some JS to spawn harmless pop-ups. The worst it can do is freeze you're computer if it's low-end, but that's about it. The warning you see at 1:15 is because of you're antivirus, McAfee (which is more of a virus than an antivirus and that you really shouldn't have on your computer). As the error code states at 1:27, it's an SSL bad domain error. An SSL certificate is a token for HTTPS, a way to secure communications between a website and a client to prevent malicious actors to steal the data going between you and the website. Each SSL certificate is only valid for a domain and sometimes subdomains, and Firefox (any other browser, really) shows a warning that this certificate is pointing to the wrong website. Why is it pointing to the wrong website? It's because McAfee, installed on your host, redirects websites it sees as malicious to it's website (the warning you see later). Now it's website sends it's certificate to Firefox, which notes it's for the wrong website. Easy as that (I could go into more detail, but figured it was enough). This "virus" cannot steal your credit card, your data or anything else, really. It was made by Enderman, a youtuber (here's the link to the video: czcams.com/video/ZcwxToKjJhE/video.html). Also you should uninstall McAfee, that's the real virus.

Basically it just spams your PC with popups and that's all. You can easily get rid of it with task manager too. Back in the early 2000s the popup spam could cause some people to get the blue screen of death, but I don't think this could happen on modern PCs. It would also set itself as the default home page back in the day, making the browser unusable, but this isn't a thing websites can do anymore for this exact reason. Overall a pretty harmless virus nowadays.
